We had just heard of the WA's closing a few days prior at our home in Laguna Beach, CA, and on a whim, tried for and got our reservation! We flew out just to see Thie Historic and beautiful Waldorf Astoria, and to experience the wonderful ambience we had heard so much about. Seeing the Staff in formal wear for their own celebration was very touching, and a genuine feeling of Family amongst them was evident. THANK YOU to all who breathed life into this great place...and for not laughing at me as I swiped the last of the hand towels with the Waldorf stamp, lol! - The Peacock Alley was so full of life, with regulars saying goodbye, and we were welcomed with open arms - food was amazing, hot, and deeeeeelicious!!! Good Luck to all - hope to see you in a few years when the new project is complete.

The waitress checking us in was rude. Despite booking in advance the table wasn't set up for 7 and they had to move furniture from other diners tables. We ordered the famous waldorf salad and the walnuts were missing. Overall disappointing and expensive.. definitely got the vibe they were on wind down due to the impending closure. The waiter that served was the saving grace and was very friendly and helpful.

We went there to say goodbye to the Waldorf. Despite having made resos, we had to wait 20 minutes for the rude maitre d' to attend to us. When he took our name, he stepped away for another 5 minutes and then led us to a table that hadn't been cleaned. The food was OK, but the service left A LOT to be desired. I guess they didn't care since they were closing.

I truly hope the Sunday Brunch will return after the renovation!!!! It was the best brunch buffet I have ever experienced. My only complaint is the Beef Wellington could have been more moist. I've experienced some amazing brunches in around the world but the Peacock Alley Sunday brunch is the best. The female harpist was extraordinary too. My husband and I are accustomed to great musicians entertaining diners in Manhattan restaurants but she was truly fantastic. The staff was top caliber and so was the food. The Sunday Brunch is definitely one of the top Manhattan experiences. Please bring it back!

Pedro made our time feel original, not like a people-processing brunch. Please recognize him because you really do process lots of people on Sundays. The outer room seems more romantic than the inner back room but that is all we always get. Keep the caviar coming!

We realize the Peacock Alley will soon be closing...BUT...no excuse for such UNACCEPTABLE service. The Waldorf Salad was fabulous, as was the Waldorf Cupcake. After being served, we never saw our waiter, Nasir, again. In spite of $7 for iced tea, the glass went diluted and empty of tea. In spite of $8 for hot tea, four sips were enjoyed, then tepid water remained with no refill throughout the rest of the lunch. In spite of being asked and then notifying of a "Special Occasion" in our reservation notes, no acknowledgement of this was received.

Eating the world famous Sunday Brunch goes beyond the great food and unimaginably various choices available and the musical atmosphere. It is a taste of history, high class life, and the spirit and creatively high quality of hotel service. It teaches us how far the culinary art can go and there is no limit for the scope of service and hospitality. Our son and daughter ate the Sunday Brunch and liked it so much that they arranged an opportunity for our Valentine's Day and the anniversary. A special "thank you" goes to the restaurant staff and we have enjoyed every bit of the experience.

Not worth the hype. This was an expensive brunch and definitely not worth the money. As a hotel guest, I was told I could use my AAA discount at brunch, but my server said it didn't apply. There are so many other amazing brunch restaurants in NYC, I would not go back.

I could get much more for less value! Compared to other hotels, brunch at the waldorf was a total dissapointment: the host was horrible, food was average and prices are astronomic!! Is sad that this icon is closing soon, but I think no one is going to miss the food.

My family and I have been going to the Peacock Alley brunch for many years. As you may know, the Waldorf Astoria is closing on March 1st. The brunch is elegant, the food is delicious and the piano player and singer is outstanding. Where else can you got lobster tails oysters, and crab on a cold shellfish bar? Individual baked Alaska served on a spoon flambéed while you wait with a blowtorch!

Very pretty, I wanted to see this hotel before it was gone. It has beautiful architecture and hope it does not change once it becomes a residence. Lunch was very expensive and on the small side. We shared a lobster salad on three small rolls, the salad was barely visible on the rolls and Two glasss wine, over 80.00. Extremely expensive, even for NYC.

Too noisy. Food was not great and meats were overcooked. The shucker was not a real schucker and there was shell in the oyster. The desserts were presented elegantly but not Memorable. Quantity does not mean Quality.

Wife & I went there to celebrate her bday for brunch last Sun, 1/29. We were seated after few minutes for our reservation and waiter quickly brought us our bloody mary & mimosa. We waited for someone to ask us if we wanted water or coffee -- never happened. I was also missing a coffee cup at my setting. So, we we went to buffet and returned with food, we eventually were able to flag down a waiter & beg for water. When we returned after going to buffet again there was a mosquito in my barely touched mimosa. We were out of water, never offered coffee, and I had a bug in my drink. We waited & waited, then decided we should get dessert and get the heck out of there. But the maitre d then showed up and asked my wife if she wanted a bloody mary refill. She said no, but my husband would like one without a bug. He apologized, he scooped up the bug with a napkin, took the glass, and said he'd be right back with my mimosa. Guess what? He never returned. When we got up to get dessert we saw him texting away on his phone out by the bar/buffet. Our waiter, if you'd call him that and insult all other waiters, never asked us anything -- how was food, can I get you anything, etc. We had to flag him down for coffee, then again for the check. They clearly don't care there when both the wait staff and maitre d provide a level of service beneath nearly every diner and iHop I've ever been in. Is it related to them closing down next month? Possible. But I will never go back there when it reopens. Brunch at that price should always deliver an enjoyable and memorable experience. Well they delivered only the latter. BTW, the food was nothing special. Wide assortment, but nothing spectacular, mostly overheated by noontime when we were there. Only positives from our 2 hour experience was the beautiful harpist played wonderful repertoire, and the chef making the delicious omelettes. All else a terrible experience at the Waldorf Astoria.

We were guests of the hotel so we had breakfast here one morning. The food was great but it was probably the worst service experience I've ever had. Not sure why our server was so rude, I wasn't expecting outstanding service for breakfast but there is no need to be rude to your guests. Definitely would not recommend based on the service.

The sitting is good, waiters are attentive just the right amount. I got a burger, but they do not put in the onion/lettuce layer, so I have to do it myself, making my finger greasy. Of course the burger comes in on a plate, there is no wrap, so my fingers get greasy any way. I understand that is the way to eat a burger in most places, but it is not neat or elegant.
