Overall we really liked Ruth Chris. Have not been to one in quite a while. Ordered a bottle of Silver Oak. It was pretty cold when it came. Stayed fairly cold throughout diner. Was not asked if we wanted it decanted which for this style restaurant I would have thought would be normal.

Our waiter started off very nice, but when we did not order any alcohol or apps other than salad he just seemed to abandon our table even though there were only 3 tables taken in the whole restaurant. We all ordered steaks as well as the stuffed chicken and it was absolutely delicious. The rest of the staff was nice, but we did not get refills on any of our drinks except water. He was very attentive to his other 2 tables of older couples (we are in our early twenties) and he walked by our table at least 5-6 times without stopping over. I just feel we were not treated as equally as the “older” couples who would be perceived to have more money than we might. I’ve had experiences like this at several nice restaurants in Pittsburgh, i’m not the type to write reviews but my birthday dinner was kind of ruined since everyone was annoyed all night. Unfortunately i don’t think i’ll be back even though the food was amazing.

1-of our favorite restaurants, Ruth Chris never disappoints. Had the 11oz Filet (Oscar Style) lobster Mac & Cheese, Au-gratin potatoes. Everything was amazing. Steaks come out sizzling @ 500 degrees And are so tender & juicy. Plus our servers (ZACH & CARTER) were excellent! They took such good care of us & made the experience so personal, some of the best customer service we have had in a long while! They even gave my wife a piece of birthday cheesecake & sang happy birthday to her. We loved it! Next time we go back we’ll definitely ask for (ZACH & CARTER)! So if ur looking for an amazing meal, great service & terrific atmosphere, head to Ruth Chris in downtown Pittsburgh.

Excellent service, no pressure, no stress but punctual. All the service was excellent. The meat was excellent. I would recommend the restaurant with my eyes closed, one hundred percent confidence of those who leave there, they will leave with a big smile of satisfaction on their faces. Very varied and good selection of wines.

My filet was amazing! Super tender and flavorful. Shrimp cocktail was delicious with a spicier dipping sauce. Appreciated the attention to detail with our dessert also. The atmosphere/decor was drab, dark, and outdated but I would still go back. Thanks for terrific service and food.

I dine out a lot with my girl friends around Pittsburgh. Never have I went to a steakhouse and got called a CHILD because my sister and I wanted our steaks butterflied. Questioned my age about a drink instead of just carding me (i’m 26) Then proceeded to tell my friend STOP stacking the dishes that he’s doing it.. We were just trying to help clean up the table. Never coming back and honestly might be contacting my bank for a refund after being treated like a peasant and being told i’m a child. Will be contacting the manager too. Waitresses should be friendly, especially the amount of $ we spent. I never wanted a waitress to NOT check on me. Never had this problem at any other steakhouse.

This was our first visit to Ruth's Chris in a few decades. Wow - very impressive in every category. Food and service were great and seated on time. We shared the crabcakes, petite filet, garlic mashed and creme brulee. Excellent!!
