Open Table and Bombay Darbar are not truly connected. We made a reservation via Open Table that the restaurant never received. Worse, Open Table had the wrong (old) address of the restaurant in its system. So far, pretty bad. Thankfully, the old and new locations are only a few blocks away. This error forced us to wait nearly an hour for our table. The restaurant did nothing to compensate us (free drink?). While we waited at the bar, I asked for a martini, which the bartender did not know how to make (he thought martinis were made with vodka, had never heard of vermouth; he explained he was new to the job). I walked him through the process and, while not pretty, the resulting martini was decdent. I sensed that the move from the smaller location (which we had never visited) to the new, much larger location, was pressing the restaurant team beyond their abilities. The saving grace was the food, which was delicious, and the table staff, which was friendly if a bit overwhelmed. We will certainly return given the limited choice of good Indian food in Miami, but hope the restaurant can scale its service to meet the demands of a larger location, and that Open Table and Bombay Darbar can actually connect their reservation systems.

This was our first time at Bombay Darbar and trying India food. Wow! The food was amazing. We had the Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Pasanda and Gajar Halwa for desert. For those that like to try new food this is an excellent choice!

Excellent food, good service, reasonable prices, but PLEASE LOWER THE A/C TEMPERATURE! Way too warm inside restaurant and it made it uncomfortable to enjoy such great food.

The service and food in this restaurant are consistently good. They have adjusted spiciness to the Miami palette, so it tends to be more mild than I prefer. They are always wiing to up the spice for me. Family-owned and a wonderful experience every time.

Don't let looks deceive you because the Indian food at this small restaurant on a street with very expensive eateries was amazing and the prices reasonable. The staff was attentive and very friendly and you have to remember to leave room for their HOME-MADE pistacio ice-cream! The chicken korma (we asked for spicy) and malai kofta (we asked for mild) were out of this world and they spiced it right on target to our requests. Highly recommended and we WILL be back when in Coconut Grove! If weather permits grab an outdoor table!

Really loved the service most of all, very personable staff, very attentive as well. The ambiance was of a typical Indian restaurant, and the food was pretty good. The only negative is that the food wasn't as spicy as we'd like it, but next time we'll just ask for it to be extra hot.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Bombay Darbar. So often Indian restaurants in the states serve food that tastes as if it was first prepared days before serving. The chutneys and breads here tasted so fresh, the menu listed some unusual-for-Miami dishes along with the usual favorites, you can choose from five levels of spice-heat, and the service was *wonderful*. We look forward to returning again and again. PS: try the Goa Fish Curry, and any of the breads.

Very good food and exotic flavors. Must have the Lamb Roganjosh and Mushroom Makhani, their combination with the Basmati Rice is just superb!

The food was pretty good--not the best Indian food that I have eaten, but certainly enjoyable enough. The servers were very attentive, which helped with the delta in the food quality. I would recommend dining indoors instead of outside on Bombay Darbar's little terrace: between the mosquitos and the restaurant staff trying to combat them with buckets of citronella candles all over the floor--I burned my leg on one that had been placed right beneath our table...then one of the waiters kicked over another one spilling hot wax everywhere AND the incessant flutter of large moths and other bugs flying into our faces and around our table as they were drawn to the outdoor lights...the Bombay Darbar's outdoor experience wasn't too pleasant.

Everything we tried was great! It was not overly spicey, I would have asked for it to be a little more spicy had I known....definitely recommend it if you are in Coconut Grove and not looking for the big trendy place.

We are from Ft Laud and have been looking for a good Indian restaurant. A recent trip to Coconut Grove presented us the opportunity to check out Darbar. We were pleasantly surprised by the food, given some of the ratings. We have to disagree with comments about spice and heat, and we like both! We found the taste just right. Though we asked for a side of spice, we did not need it. Patrons that want it spicier can request it that way, as they give you the option. Prices are a bit steep, especially for lunch ($17 & $19 for our two dishes), and portions are a little smaller than we have had elsewhere. Service was very good. You could tell everyone was trying. The restaurant's physical appearance is nothing to get excited about.

Bombay Darbar is a great restaurant, managed by it's owner who is always there to make sure that everything is done to perfection with outstanding service and a smile. He also makes sure that his staff goes above and beyond their call to make the patron's experience enjoyable and pleasant. The food is delicious; every item I have ever had from the menu was amazing. The wine list is limited but very well thought out, and the selections pair very well with indian food. Additionally, both the food and wine are very well priced. Bombay Darbar is by far my favorite Indian restaurant in Miami-Dade county. It has a great location, parking is easily accesible, the food is delicious, and the service is outstanding.
