This was my first time dining at Council Oak. I had heard about how great the restaurant was. Our food was excellent as we had the raw bar sampler and a porterhouse steak. We really enjoyed it as well as the nice birthday dessert.
The only aspect of the dinner that was a little off was that we did not know that this was a temporary space for the restaurant as the new hotel is being built. The restaurant is in a ballroom that is divided up with large curtains. It reminded me of the Easter brunches at hotels that held them in their ballrooms. Our table was unusually large so it was comical in terms of how far we were from each other. My daughter was cracking up. The waiters had to give quite an effort to push their carts across the thick ballroom carpet.
Again the food was excellent and we will return when the new restaurant is ready.
Music and food and the service was good but too over priced
Wonderful! Had raw bar and dessert was amazing. Share dessert, large portions!
Great steaks and outstanding service!! Look forward to going back again!
In a converted ball room atmosphere was horrendous.service was excellent food was subpar. Used to be top notch
Waiter was very good. Onion soup and drinks great. Food quality was lacking.
The food was deliciou, everything was cooked perfect. Definitely will be back.
Very good food
They moved the location of the restaurant and it is really far now from the casino. My dad likes to go there because he can go to the casino and also have a nice dinner. The menu items also changed, we really liked the scallop and the Chilean Sea bass and both items are no longer on the menu. The Broiled Whole Branzino was not good at all. My dad did not feel great after that meal. The service was very good as usual and the atmosphere is still pretty nice.
We actually liked the location in the ballroom better than the original location. Food was excellent and the waiter was on point!
My wife and I are regular visitors to Council Oak over the years. However, this past visit was significantly underwhelming. I understand the hotel is under construction, however, there is a certain expectation when you are spending $500 on a meal for two people. They should have just closed until they were ready. The restaurant has been moved into a conference room on the other side of the hotel and the food was terrible. I ordered the $100 dollar Wagyu New York Strip and it was honestly the worst steak I have ever had, charred and inedible. I wish we had gone to another restaurant to celebrate our anniversary.
Very disappointing. VealChop was not cooked or good quality. Lobster Mac and Cheese was all salt. For amount of what you pay for these items- stay away. Horrible value.
The Hard Rock is undergoing a multi-year renovation and the Council Oak restaurant has been relocated to a convention hall. The ambiance is gone and they no longer have any outdoor seating. The food remains good. However, when dinner runs over $300 for two - there needs to be more than just quality food.
Also they seem to cater to the early diners. The room and bar close at 10 pm. Much too early.
Check this out after the Casino finishes construction in 2020
We’ve eaten there 6-8 times over the part 3-4 years on special occasions . Always good but this was exceptional. I believe they have a new head chef .
We had stone crabs and lamb chops . Perfect . Appetizers - crab and shrimp. Perfect .
The only thing not perfect (always perfect other times) was the onion rings. Oil not hot enough . A bit soggy . We ate them but we should have sent them back and reordered .
Server was excellent . Not the usual “very good choice sir” kind of crap . Personable but not intrusive . Dressed appropriately and not half naked . High class food and high class service .
$65 Ribeye was over-cooked. They had me cut into it to see the center and it splashed onto my shirt. The only reason I didn’t turn it back up was because it would be awkward for me to be sitting there while my colleague was eating his dinner. Service started out ok and then was nonexistent. They comped us a drink and dessert but honestly I would’ve rather had a great $65 steak. Also the creamed spinach was cold and the cheese on top wasn’t even melted. I’m not sure if it’s because they’re in their temporary space but it will take a lot for me to go back in there. I had eaten there before and never had anything like this.
Amazing place i will definitely go again
Impressive service and food was good, the seafood platter definitely a must, lobster bisque was a tad salty and not really a strong lobster flavor, but tenderloin with scallops and asparagus were as good as I've ever had. Drinks good and strong. We finished with a baked Alaska flambe tableside. Great night, would frequent again.
I know it's a temporary location but the food wasn't the same. Took a few things off the menu that we loved and unfortunately both our steaks were dry. The potato dish was not fully cooked. This was our first "ok" experience here. The waiter was fantastic along with all the staff members. We will wait till they are set up in their permanent location.
So disappointed. Tried waygu for the first time- never spent over $100 on one steak that I can remember. It was much much too salty on the outside and also was not medium rare. So sad. The duck fat hash browns were so inedible that I couldn’t eat them. What happened to this restaurant?
Have eaten here many times
Food and service is excellent
I would recommend this for any special occasions
Enjoyed it! Will do again!!
Seven of us dined here. Some steaks were perfect but some weren’t as great even though they were the exact cuts of meat. Would share extra side dishes as the portions were enough for two people. Our Service was great at the beginning but later we had to flag other servers to get other desired items.
None of us ordered any Seafood so haven’t an option on this. I don’t mind paying a lot of money for a Fabulous meal. I had comp dollars to cover half the Check so therefore not sure I would dine here again if I had to pay for the entire meals.
loved the steak as usual great service as well not impressed with the setup in the conference room
The location the restaurant is currently in is a temporary location within the Hard Rock. I felt like I was in a poker room over a nice restaurant. My husband enjoyed his steak, but I did not like the veal parm that I ordered. It was lacking flavor. Our server was very nice and attentive though and we ended up receiving 2 desserts for my husband's Birthday (even though the server commented that it was an error on their end.) Also, the tables were set up in a way that my husband and I felt like we were so far apart. We could barely reach others hands. Honestly, I wish we would have sat at their bar as there was live music that we could not see, or be apart of at all.
From the ambiance, to the food, to the outstanding service by Miguel, this is our new go-to place!!! And then the fabulous live music - could you ask for anything more?
Great experience. Great food. Will be returning.
All though the location of the restaurant is only temporary (from what I’m told) I wasn’t impressed with the ballroom setup at all. We’ve dined at the previous location and had always enjoyed the nice ambiance, food and service. However with this pop up style restaurant dining everything seemed totally off. We will not be returning to this location again but will return when they reopen in the new tower.
Everything was great but wasn’t a fan of the bisque and the dean spinach was horrible.. it was very fishy? Everything else was deliscious!
I go to this location several times a year for Sunday Brunch. The food is terrific. We always try to get Timothy as our server when we go. He is very pleasant and attentive to all our needs while we are there. I have recommended this brunch to many friends and have invited family and friends on special occasions.
The food was great as always. The service was trop notch. They are in a temporary location so there wer a lot od curtains.
I was prepared to pay for a quality experience, knowing the menu would be pricey but expecting the fare to be worth it. I ordered the $60 raw bar for 2. The 6 oysters were the worst I have ever had—small, tiny really, and filled with bits of cracked shell to boot. The 6 large shrimp were tough and chewey. The chilled cut-up lobster parts were just okay, and the one chilled Alaskan crab leg average as well. They serve it with a dish of cocktail sauce and a dish of melted butter. Being that the entire thing is cold and served on ice, the melted butter seemed an odd choice. $60 for a quality raw bar is justified. $60 for this fare was a rip-off.
The cocktails were expensive as well and nothing special. My friend did enjoy her onion soup.
That’s it: 2 drinks, one for each of us, the raw bar, and a bowl of soup. $120 with the tip. Next time I’ll use it at a black jack table, and win or lose, still feel I got more for the money.
The Bone in Veal parm was amazing I highly recommend & the lobster mac n cheese was a nice side dish my friend had. Drinks were a bit on the stiff side fyi, I didnt mind but this is just a pre warning.
Food better than ever!! Our waiter Michael was exceptional!!!! We had a marvelous dinner.
Tried to charge to my room, took 25 minutes.Manager said computer problem.Had to wait,Fine dining in a ball room? Wife sent fish back.
Updated Italian menu is not what was expected. Calamari was bland, escargot was below par, potatoes au gratin were uncooked. The only good things were the cocktails and the meat,
We where there to celebrate our 24th anniversary..
Chad our waiter was so professional and such an awesome guy .. he made recommendations that where right on point ..
The stakes are like butter..
Chad made our experience unforgettable..
The crust on the outside of the steak was the best thing I ever had. The lobster Mac n cheese was everything I could've asked for. Great place with great food.
The food was the best l have had at a brunch. The preparation of the food quality of food was Top Notch.
