This is a wonderful casual spot to go for brunch on Sunday. Food, drink and service were excellent. I give 4 stars because it's casual and homey, but I recommend it heartily.

The Hoe Cake is a must! We got the sampler and the tri-tip was sooo flavorful. The ribs were also good, but I think next time I would pass on the brisket. Not as tasty as the tri-tip for sure. I liked the ambience and that it has a very cozy feel about it. We'll try to save room for dessert next time. :)

Barrel & Ashes is the place to go for a quality BBQ menu in Studio City. The food is top notch, prices are very fair, cocktails are witty, and the service is impeccable. Their staff does a good job of making you feel paid attention to. I enjoy that about a restaurant experience. Definitely go and try out the nachos appetizer. 💜

Forced to valet although I found parking myself. Valet goes into the restaurant after I was seated and demanded my keys. Mason jars were extremely filthy, with lip stick on the edges. Had my son not been so hungry we would left. Waiter served well but after waiting for change, he asked if I wanted my change back. This equated to a 27% tip and he was more like 15% tip worthy. I wouldn’t go back food was decent at best and with horrible treatment - I’ll pass.

I’ve lived in Studio City for 15 years, dining out on average of 3 nights per week and can’t honestly say I’ve ever had such bad service. Our waiter forgot to put in our order, forgot a drink, left our finished plates untouched for over 20 minutes and only checked on us a total of 3 times

Stick to the regular menu, most everything is delicious. Brisket and pork ribs not to be missed. Sides very good. Great casual ambience. Only complaint....The service was not great... drinks took a very long time, so long in fact both of our appetizers were on the table and half way eaten before our drinks arrived, the drinks we ordered before we ordered appetizers...

This was our third visit but the first time we’ve not had a good experience. Food was not nearly as good as I recall. Service was poor- no refills on non alcoholic beverages. Pickles were mixed with the meat and tinged the entire flavor of the meat. No extra bbq offered or provided. Disappointed as the quality and value was not worth the cost. Doubtful we will be back.

Food was good but it wasn’t amazing and too expensive for what you get. Stick with the basics here. Meat. Their meat is good. The sides and other things were ok. Hoecake was good but worth it as a $2.99 side not $9...

Food was excellent- rubs were great & best brisket I ever had. Baked chicken was a bit dry and Wings were tasty but a bit small. Was a little disappointed that we had reservations for 4 but could not sit at the front window table for 4 as they said it was already reserved but no one occupied it the whole time we were there. Waiter was efficient.

The most sophisticated BBQ restaurant with terrifically awesome food. Everything is chef made including the hot links, reasonably priced, commercial BBQ equipment, and above all tastes good because its cooked on wood.

Had a great time at Barrel & Ashes for brunch! I would say the only thing that's tough if you're Gluten Free there aren't a lot of options and was a little bummed out that for brunch they were out of bloody mary mix and we were one of the first reservations of the day. However, the food was delicious and the service was really good! Love this spot!

We'll definitely be back! The brisket was exceptional, the hoecake was spectacular, and the bottomless Arnold Palmer made with house-made lemonade went perfectly with everything. Seriously friendly service, cute BBQ theming, all around excellent!

We were just celebrating the Fourth of July and thought that having BBQ would be the perfect way to that. Travis was our waiter and he was very delightful. The whiskey list he presented was overwhelming and one would need time to study it. I guess we’ll use that as excuse to come back.

Much ado about nothing. There are better BBQ place even along Ventura Blvd. Turns out outside seating in on the sidewalk, where folks are forgotten. Above average brisket and ribs. Good Mac & Cheese, beans, and collard greens. Soupy cole slaw, dried out pull pork. This was not an invitation to return.

Really like their BBQ, this time we tried a burger, ordered it med-rare. Burger arrived well done. Round two came out medium. Our waiter didn’t bother to check on us to see if the second burger came out correctly cooked the second time. Cocktails were excellent!!! Food not up to standard, service the same..... it’ll be a while before we try again.

I gave the food 3 stars only because the Impossible Burger was inedible! It had a pretty bad after taste. Everything else was amazing and i cant wait to go back.
