The food was great. I’ve been a vegan for a number of years and it’s such a pleasure to not have to check the ingredients of a dish. My husband who is not a vegan considers it one of his favorite places to eat. The food is really delicious. I can’t say enough about it.

Most amazing vegan Mexican food I have ever tried! It blew my mind how delicious everything was! I had the enchiladas and the jackfruit tacos along with an amazing blood orange margarita. The atmosphere and music were also super cute and inviting. Our server was very friendly and kind. I want to go back and try the entire menu!

A compact but lovely space. The food knocked it out of the park. Definitely indulge in the guacamole, and the churros. Each of us got different dishes and all of them were amazing. Very flavorful quick service.

The nachos … beautiful. They were the best vegan nachos I have ever had. However the other two items we got we’re not great. The quinoa chorizo taco was really bland. I’m also surprised everyone raves in the reviews about the spicy cauliflower enchiladas. They indeed were not spicy at all and the sauces lacked flavor. I recommend getting the nachos and drinks and skipping full meals.

We last dined at Bar Verde 2 years ago then Covid hit and we couldn’t get back to NYC. My wife and Daughter are vegans 🌱 myself and son are not . All 4 of us had a food feast, great service,brilliant evening Looking forward to coming back in the summer

The vegan Mexican food is excellent. Service was very nice. My only complaint is that they made a 10:15 reservation available (post theater) and then when we arrived told us they were closing the kitchen and bar early. We were really rushed. I understand the economics of closing early when there is little business, but they should not take late reservations if they do not intend to give appropriate service. I do not blame the staff, but management needs to be better prepared to honor its reservations. Still, the food is terrific, especially the heart of palm ceviche

We went for my daughter's birthday. We were greeted with a smile and our server was helpful and friendly. We came for a fun and nice brunch and was not disappointed. The food and adult drinks were just what we needed. We all had a great experience. Thank you to all the staff!

We chose this place for a friend with many food restrictions but ALL of us in our party loved the food. All the dishes we tried were delicious, fresh, creative. The service was very attentive but we did not feel rushed in any way. I will go again, even if I am not dining with a gluten free vegan!

The food was delicious but expensive and it was hard to enjoy it with such a noisy atmosphere. Servers were bustling back and forth and talking over our heads with orders and instructions. Though it was a plant-based restaurant, it was obvious people were more there for alcoholic drinks. As we left the restaurant, we noticed 2nd ave was quieter than our dining experience. Not sure we would try it again.

Last night was our first time at Bar Verde. Soon after my friend arrived, our waiter leaned over and asked her if she made the reservation. I made our reservation and said so, but it was if he hadn't heard me. My friend pointed at me and said she did, but he still addressed my friend and continued to behave as if she was the only one at our table throughout our dinner. My friend is white, and I am Black. Other than this questionable service, the food was OK (though the California burrito was actually a black bean burrito - no seitan carne asada or fries were in it) and the outdoor seating was a plus since we're still in the ongoing COVID (airborne) pandemic.

Probably the best vegan Mexican food I have ever had. Great sangria, too. We sat outside, so can't really comment on the noise level or the ambiance. The reason I only gave 4 stars (instead of 5) for service is that my friend asked for something to be left off a dish, and the dish came with it. It was clear that the wait person's english was not very good; we don't think he understood what my friend was asking.

Amazing food. Horrible service. Sat for 30 mins after eating our meal (plates cleared) without anyone checking on us, offering dessert, or getting the check. I tried to eat the manager’s attention and she told me to hold and walked right past me. It wasn’t busy so I don’t know what the deal was but makes me sad that this delicious plant based restaurant was ruined by the staff.

Very sensitive to food allergens, yet food is far tastier than most gf restaurants I’ve experienced. Fresh and healthy ingredients. Didn’t try the margaritas but imagine they are as delicious as the lemonade. Look forward to coming back again!
