   Everything we ordered was great— I’d re-order every appetizer again and only worry I was missing something else great. The service was there when wanted but not hovering. If I had one complaint, the vodka pour was small and my husband was charged for each of his 2 Diet Coke refills. Unexpected. Nothing that would take away from 5 star review.

   Isa is in a primo location and has a leafy back patio, it has perfectly good food and attentive service. It seems consistently empty, which is strange given the combination of factors. If you're looking for a lovely spot to dine on a weekend night, leave the overcrowded spots with 30-45 minute waits and head straight to provence in the marina.

   Under the old owners (pre-2013) this was a "small plates" place. Chef is still the same and the food is still excellent, but the entree plates are no longer small. Very nice ambiance in the heated and covered garden. Could definitely benefit from nicer linens, white tablecloths.

   Our large party (14 people) had a wonderful dining experience. The owner contacted me to see if we'd be interested in the set menu, to help ensure our dinners all arrived on time. No pressure, but it was an option he recommended. We decided on the set menu, and it was a great choice. Our server was friendly, funny, and extremely knowledgeable. Every need was taken care of, and I felt tended to yet without waitstaff hovering over us. The food was fantastic, and cocktails were enjoyed by many in our group. I would highly recommend the back patio - covered and heated, it has a wonderful ambiance.

   Honestly I regret never trying this wonderful dining destination before tonight. I feel my friend and I lucked out with it being so quiet inside but there were 2 large groups at the back patio making it a quaint and mellow atmosphere. The food was truly spectacular and the cost mind blogging for the quality and portions 🤯😱🤭 I’m definitely on board for round two depending on the visitors and or friends. Thank you Sam ! 👍🏽😉

    Really tasty fish dishes. The friendly waiters and service staff at ISA are amazing. Very good at their job and the owners must clearly create a nice atmosphere where the staff is treated well and likes working there because as a diner you can feel people like working there. Excellent choices of appetizers and main dishes and desserts.

    We waited 3 hours and ate for 20 minutes for this 4 course restaurant week meal. We had no waiter (the hostess took our order and never came back), no one asked us how the food was, the food itself was dry and not flavorful. We asked to leave early and pay for the appetizers we already received and they said NO we couldn’t. Unacceptable and will never come back.

    I’m embarrassed to say that this little gem of a restaurant slipped through my radar. Born and raised in SF, one would assumed that I would know about Isa. If it wasn’t for Restaurant Week, this treasure of a restaurant might still be undercover. What a great discovery. We ate there twice in one week because we didn’t get enough on the first visit. We had to return to try more dishes that Isa had to offer. Delicious! Jonathan was our server the first evening and kept us well engaged with the whole dining experience. On our return visit we sat in the back patio which brought our dining experience up another notch. Last, but not least, meeting the most gracious host Sam (the owner) was the cherry on the top!     Visited during Restaurant Week and sat in the front. The service was a bit slow, we asked for a refill and never received it. Food was good, the prawns were perfection! We also got the scallops, risotto, and oysters - all great. Soups and desserts were just ok. Worth a try!

    We went for restaurant week and the food was great. Our steak was a little undercooked but other than that, everything was really good. The crab salad really stood out to us! The servers were great and we will definitely be back!

    We went for SF Restaurant Week and the food + price deal were incredible. The portions were on the smaller side which was good for us because we like trying and sharing a lot of different dishes. We love mussels and these were the best mussels we’ve ever had. Will definitely be coming back!

    Flavors were incredible and the service was above and beyond. Isa offers a great variety of French cuisine with a California flair. Among our party of three, the baked Laura chenel goat cheese, seared scallops with truffle sauce, and grilled hanger steak were the true MVPs. We requested to sit in the heated back patio area - it was cozy and inviting.

    Book a table before 8 pm to avoid the noisy loud groups of diners. I would not recommend the restaurant for a date night unless you are in the 20 - 30 age group. The noise level is so loud that it's difficult to even have a conversation at my table.

    We had to find the hostess when we first got there but they sat us down and gave us enough time to review the menu. Once we ordered, 4 courses, I askded if they would space them out just so there isn't overlap and she said she wouldn't do that. Then when the courses were finally coming out it was 20+ minutes between the first and second course and I had to flag down the waitress to see where the food is. Otherwise everyone else around us was receiving their food. I am NEVER rude to workstaff, so I was disappointed that we were not being checked on for the delay when we were noticably looking around. Overall we stand by the service not being great, food was okay, and overall the place looked a bit thrown together and dated.

    Excellent service. We asked for a seating change to a cozy table for two that we noticed. The Host immediately walked us to our table of choice. Our server was quick, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the wines. We had a wonderful evening, dining at Isa. Thank you to the Host, Staff and management. Well done

    Lousy table, near some noisy machinery, with a plastic wall/barrier that rattled next to our table. Screaming kid nearby to boot. Asked to move. Owner/Maitre de unwilling to accomodate our request. Supposedly the table we asked to be moved to was reserved in 1/2 hour. Don't understand why he couldn't have given them our table, maybe they would have appreciated it more than us. Table was never taken and 1/2 way through our meal he asked us if we wanted to move. Really? Nothing wrong with the food, nothing knocked my socks off either. Service was not great. $250 for 2 including tip. Would not go back.

    Isa is in my go-to restaurant rotation list for impressing parents, clients, and out of town guests. The food is phenomenal and all the staff seem to have been there 20+ years bringing lots of food and wine knowledge and amazing service. The tuna tostada is better than most sushi restaurants and the risotto is my favorite in the city.

    We made an early, 5:30 reservation. There were only a couple more people at the restaurant so it was very quiet. We enjoyed our dinner there very much and the price was definitely appropriate and a good value. We sat in the patio which was charming. It was a cold evening, but it was well heated and very comfortable. The wait staff is over the top helpful... maybe a bit too much. Instead of telling me how long you've worked there, how good your food is, let me experience it for myself. My husband and I shared a salad which was underdressed and didn't have enough of the citrus notes it should have. I had the hanger steak. I asked for medium well, and it was definitely more medium. It was delicious albeit a bit red for me. My husband had the lamb and said it was very good. And, the desert, a flourless cake was delicious. If you are looking for large quantities this may not be your place. Also we were told a refill of our after dinner coffee would be an added expense. Such a small thing that was an irritation and felt petty.
