   I don’t often write reviews, but we were so thoroughly happy with our experience at Flex Mussels that I had to write. The place is awesome. Food - some of the freshest oysters I’ve ever had; great starters, including peel and eat shrimp; more mussels selections I’ve ever seen - all of the ones we ordered were excellent. Service - top notch. Very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Atmosphere - high energy, fun, vibrant. We will be back. You must go.

   Started with really great bread, nicely grilled octopus then Mussels with an Italian broth. Well prepared and service was very attentive. I will go back to this place to eat.

   Little place in the village with the biggest muscles I have ever had. Service is great. This Is our second time there and we will be back again. Happy hour is all so good I would recommend this restaurant.

    This is one of my favorites, there's too many good things here - definitely get the fries, definitely get raw oysters, definitely get the parma if you've never been here before, and definitely get the donuts.

    The food was fantastic. The space is very claustrophobic. Too many tables in such a tiny space. That could be overlooked except the music is turned up very loud and there are speakers all over the place. The result is a lot of yelling and not being able to hear you table mates. Maybe the UES location is better.

    The lobster Mac and cheese was amazing. The beet salad even better. But the best is the mussels, any way you want them. A pot of mussels, cooked perfectly, delivered to your table with a smile. The service was excellent. Friendly nice people. My kind of restaurant. Thank you.

    It was a very nice place and the food was awesome. Only thing I didn’t like too much was how close all the tables are to each other cause u can actually hear everyone’s conversation which is a little annoying when your on a date but overall it was a good experience and I definitely would go to flex mussels again.

    Very cool and relaxed atmosphere. You walk into a sheik bar area, then through the hallway is the main dining room. It resembled a modern boathouse, and the food was super fun and really good.

    Not a great experience overall unfortunately. I had high hopes, but the mussel sauces were just ok. I hoped that a restaurant dedicated to mussels would knock our socks off. Also didn’t have all the beers in stock (on a VERY limited list, which confuses me). I guess it wasn’t the worst meal all-in-all, but I definitely expect more for the price.

    For restaurant with every menu item including mussels... would hope mussels would be good sized and sweet. Not the case. Overpriced. Poor value. Look elsewhere.

    Food was amazing, venue very comfortable and welcoming and clean and chic. Service was great and friendly but oddly there was only one waitress for the brunch shift so it seemed she was slightly spread thin. Had to wait a smidgen longer than should’ve been necessary for a couple things: had to ask twice for coffee and then when it came it was only one when apparently my friend had asked too. Overall definitely interested in returning and regularly. Had been there for a date before too, great time!!!

    The mussels were delicious - a lot of great sauces to choose from. My girlfriend ordered a creamy sauce, and I ordered a red sauce. We constantly dipped into each others' orders. The contrast between the 2 made the taste even better. The restaurant is a bit small and loud - something about a mussels dinner causes people to speak loudly and drink heavily - but I guess that's part of the fun.

    We try to go to Flex Mussels every time we’re in New York. This time we were disappointed in the service but loved the food. The meal for four people took almost 3 hours. It took a really long time for someone to come in the first place. He brought us water but never came back to take our order. Someone else took the order and we received our oysters after a while and they were delicious. Next we got our three orders of mussels (also delicious) and the fourth person had to wait a while for his fish and chips. When we were about half done, one order of fries came and when we were done with our mussels, the last order of fries arrived. We had to get the donuts for dessert and they didn’t disappoint but again, took a really long time.

    I really dislike it when you have a reservation but you cannot be seated until your entire party is present. Really sends an immediate UNWELCOMING signal right away. BAD POLICY

    Just want to start by saying food & service was fine & we had no issues with that! However, Flex Mussels reservation process was a absurd waste of time! Reservation made on Open Table as usual, however a note required a call before 5pm on day of reservation otherwise cancelled! Note repeated on OT Confirmation email. Day before, OT email confirmation request, as usual, new note from Flex threatens cancellation if not confirmed by 5pm, even with email confirmations! On day of reservation at 11am, before heading out to appointments, I call number on OT app, message states no one there until after 1pm! Why not indicated in Notes?? I call 1:30-2pm, message gives option “Press 1 for reservation/host”, over dozen rings later, gives message to call after 1pm!! Several calls same results! Thoroughly frustrated, I pass this off to dining companion so I can continue my appointments! She called several times, tweeted them, emailed via website & finally got a human at Flex Mussels 82nd Street location!! They confirmed reservation on their system! Later she got email reply apologizing & confirming, also stated manager would be in at 2pm! If that’s known, why didn’t Note state to call between 2-5pm to confirm?? Most restaurants needing confirmation simply use OT Text reminder! Get text, reply “1” to confirm, get acknowledgement back, end of story, less than a minute, all automated!! If there’s a threat of cancellation if not confirmed, then there better be someone there to answer the call!!!

    Eggs were completely overcooked - poached eggs became hardboiled. Also the heat was not working so it was freezing in the restaurant
