   The food was exceptional and the service was excellent. I had the chicken and it was delicious. The servers were courteous and attentive. It is a wonderful place for a quiet meal. We love the food at the Log Cabin.

   The Log Cabin is a classic spot for a nice meal and special occasion. My parents had their 20th anniversary dinner there, we celebrated special birthdays growing up, and on Sunday I drove 3 hours to pick up my mom and take her there for Mother's Day lunch, before driving 3 hours back home. Six hours in the car to have a wonderful lunch at The Log Cabin with my mother is a day very well spent! The food is classic food done really well. The crab cakes were all crab, the meat loaf had a delicious onion gravy, the shrimp cocktail was simple and perfect and the summer chilled strawberry and watermelon soup tased like ice cream on a summer day: yum! Laura our server was superb! She was sweet, kind, accommodating, applied just enough attention while giving us ample privacy to enjoy our meal. Going to the Log Cabin is like going back in time, except the food is fresh takes on classic dishes. It is a little out of the way, but absolutely worth it to treat yourself and the special people in your life.

   For the price you pay here, one would expect perfection in both service and food. Unfortunately, both were found lacking in 2 out of 2 visits (several years apart because the first time was not great). Most recently (giving this place another chance), we dined for a Mother's Day lunch. In terms of service, our waitress was mostly absent, though attending to her other tables (who she seemed to know) fairly regularly. Also, the other servers/runners bringing the food did not seem trained well enough to be able to help arrange a table to make room for dishes before trying to just plop new one's down (for example). On the other side of this, my son's salad was taken away before he was finished with it, and without anyone asking him if he was finished. For the food, nothing here has shined for us very brightly on either occasion. Even simple seasoning (salt) seems pretty elusive to most items, and the flavor profiles of dishes that sound super great on the menu don't translate all the way to finished dishes. The Caesar salad was dressed incredibly unevenly, with us wondering if the greens even had a dressing at all. The dressing was later found mostly on the plate, under all the greens. The lettuce was also cut way too large to be appropriately served (or maybe not cut at all?), which made it an odd eating experience. The crab cake was "fine", though was a one-note flavor and texture profile that needed a little excitement. The aioli served with it was also not the savior the kitchen might have intended to be, tasting less of bright citrus and herbs and more like warm mayonnaise. The veggie lo-mein salad was also a disappointment, lacking cohesion and umami. As a couple of high points, the hostess team that greeted us were friendly, warm, and attentive, and the ambience in the outdoor area of the restaurant was lovely. We REALLY want this place to shine, but several consistent missteps (mostly with the food) will prevent us from returning in the future.

   It was the very best Mother’s Day for me. Nothing compares to the log cabin. The food was outstanding. The atmosphere was perfect. Now I’ll have to request that my husband and son bring me back next year!!

   We sat in the bar area and the ambiance was perfect. Background music was delightful. Food and service were what we expect from the Log Cabin.

   Nestled in the woods in Leola, this place is like no other. Besides being a charming, cozy place to dine, the food and service are both outstanding. We enjoyed sitting near the fireplace and listening to the music of the acoustic guitar playing. Wonderful evening!

    Food and service was excellent , only issue, I was running 15 minutes late, called the restaurant to let them know and got voicemail, that was for future reservations. When arrived 6:30 for 6:15 reservation they said they gave our table away. They said they would have to find a table , while there were several empty tables on the first floor they gave us a table about 10 minutes later on the 2nd floor. So my wife who has a disability, half paralyzed had to walk up the steep set of stairs to the table . Food and waitress were excellent , bit if you have 4 women as hostess’ and no one answered the phone then gave the table away wasn’t very nice .
