Fish & Chips, the classics and more than a few ringers for the worldly eaters. The craic is good. The Local Irish Pub was founded on December 17th, 1997, and celebrates over two decades of enduring loyalty and adoration for its many offerings, from a beautiful bar featuring a hand-carved back bar, numerous nooks and crannies for exchanging secrets, and ample space for telling flat-out lies. Celebrate the highs and the lows in our private event spaces. The West End location is the 2nd location of this mini Irish Empire, opening in February of 2019.

Great food! Liked the semi-private booths. After seated by hostess waited long time but no server came. Had to go find someone to serve us. But after that server was attentive. On the expensive side for $15 burgers. Definitely would go back and recommend to others.

The member birthday special is awesome and our server (Lexi I believe) was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The regular prices are creeping up there a bit. We did have a great time and will go back.

Service was excellent, almost too attentive, frequently stopping by asking if we needed anything. Food was very good, hot and fresh. The atmosphere for a weekday lunch was friendly and relatively quiet.

Surprisingly uncrowded on a summer Saturday evening at 7PM our party of six was seated at a long table directly under an air conditioning vent, not a good start, even on a summer evening. It was freezing. Service was prompt, and it was easy to carry on a conversation as there weren't many people at the nearby bar -it was quite- a nice surprise. But the food! I had corned beef and cabbage, a traditional Irish dish. The menu read Roasted Corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrots. The corned beef rather than in slices of brisket came in 1 inch chunks together with pieces of potato and carrots and a couple of thick slabs of cabbage. The dish had an overall oily consistency, and whatever they did to it you could barely taste that it was corned beef, the major clue though that it was was the color. The cabbage totally devoid of taste. Less typical of pub food was the ahi tuna salad said not to be very good, but one vegetarian loved the very burger (with cheese). We will not be back.

Server seemed bored even though we were there on a Sunday and it wasn't busy. Food was very average. had the fish and chips which i thought was their specialty. was one piece of fish, fairly greasy. my tablemate had shep pie which was good. like the old world ambiance but expected more of the food from my old trips to the orig local. would probably come back for HH sometime but not spend that much for a mediocre dinner.

I was sad when I heard Cooper was changing, but decided I should give it the place as the Local a try. I was happy to find the menu was very similar, and that the ambiance only got better. The service was excellent. I'll be back!

Great staff and good vibe. The main bar is too noisy to "hear" the game so our party moved into the separate side room, which was much quieter, had regular tables and a larger flat-screen TV. Fabulous for families and older people. We'll be back for the soccer games.

Waitress was very nice. Drinks were fine. Food was awful. Burgers were so greasy it was dripping grease. Veggie burger was very dry. Fries were plain with no seasoning. Salad was nothing but lettuce very exoensive for what it was. Spent al ost 100 dollars for three people and two drinks. Would not go back

Our server was outstanding. Great personality and service. The place was mostly empty on a Thursday night, which is concerning. The food was average at best. The beer was flat. The high top chairs are amazingly uncomfortable.

Food has gone downhill since it switched from Cooper pub to the Local. Much more limited menu and we had to send one dish back (the macaroni and cheese) but nothing tasted as good as it used to be at Cooper Pub. We will not be eating here again.

I love The Local, and all the Cara pubs. I just have one quibble about my recent visit: I ordered black tea, and it came in a little pot which provided a little over a mugful of tea (and I was delighted that the pot came with the teabag already in the water, and the water seems to have been actually boiling!). However, when he asked if I'd like more, I said yes, and he said a new teabag would mean an entire new tea purchase. As I don't reuse teabags (since I don't drink pathetic, flavorless, tea-less tea-- haha!), I sighed and said yes. Meanwhile, my guest who'd ordered coffee could have sat there drinking endless cups of it all day long without being charged again. She could've had an entire pot of it-- and that costs a lot more than a second teabag. Teabags, even good ones, are not expensive. Wouldn't it make sense to just use another .14 teabag for the tea "refill," rather than irritating the tea drinker? That seems like a decision that hasn't been thought through-- and I even wonder if it's an actual policy of Cara Pubs, or an individual manager or even the server.

Love this place. service was absolutely fun and amazing... the booths are super cool in private! food was not as good as the first time we were there and it was not too terribly busy, but still ok. The steak and mushroom pie is the best!

I was at The Local for lunch with girlfriends and, for the most part, it was good. Our server Sara was great...very personable and helpful! The changes to the decor of the restaurant are very nice. All the other ladies enjoyed their lunches, but mine was so-so. I got the corned been and cabbage and I liked the way it was served with the sauce, but the corned beef was surprisingly tasteless. I could not detect a single spice in the meat, and those pickling spices are what “makes” the corned beef! I will definitely go back, but try something other than the corned beef next time.

We were there on a Wednesday evening - it was crowded, but we had a reservation and they got us right in. The food was good - only bad thing was the wild rice in the roasted pear salad - too hard to chew. Otherwise - delicous!

Food and service were great. Ruben, tomato soup, chicken shots appetizer were all wonderful. We were lucky to be in a cozy enclosed booth as there were some very noisy diners whooping it up nearby. But it's a bar, after all. Will return anyway.

Great food and great atmosphere. I like they way they've remodeled it after transitioning from the Cooper. There seems to be way more seating. I love the booths by the window. Very cozy!
