A great restaurant overlooking a golf course and the mountains. Great service and delicious food!
They didn't mention it was in a golf club. We were the only 2 eating. Very limited menu(only 4 options for breakfast). Very bad signage to get there. Service was good. Food was good except my wife ordered a veggie burrito and it came with meat.
Surprised to find out it’s a restaurant inside a golf club but the views were great as well as the food and service
We sat out on the patio over the eighteenth hole. The view and temperature was perfect and the cocktails and food were great
We went to this restaurant because it wasn't too far from Red Rock Amphitheater and we were going to a concert that night. I would highly recommend for friendliness of staff (hello Doug!), great food and a view that can't be beat.
Waited 15 minutes bites to be seated in an empty restaurant despite having a reservation. Male waitperson seemed overly bothered that we needed a sun shade which was requested in a hot patio, but not provided.
Fellow seemed more concerned about the umbrella than his clients.
I’m sure this place will tank like the last one did, unless the golfers bring in enough bar business.
Food was decent for a golf course clubhouse. My issues were the tea was old and rancid and the dish that I wanted was not available. Views of mountains were fantastic.
Brunch service was poor on a Saturday, we had to order food and drinks at the bar. Sunday brunch service was amazing and had great service. They need to work on consistency for brunch service as the food and outdoor seating area was great!
Awesome view from the outdoor patio. Great service. Outstanding friendly staff made us feel like valued customers. Thanks!
We went for Fathers Day, located in the Fossil Trace Golf Clubhouse. The dinning room is a converted events venue, so very no frills. We had green chili biscuts and gravy, Mac and cheese, eggs benedict and a breakfast burrito. All the food was excellent and the service came with a smile. It’s a little hectic, because it’s a clubhouse and there are a lot of things going on. The deck has a great view, but it was raining and we didn’t get to enjoy it,
We had brunch and the $1 mimosas were a great way to start. The food was good, view excellent.
If it weren’t for high open table ratings we would have never ventured here. Did not know it was a golf club restaurant. Service was outstanding, food quality very good and the view on the patio priceless. Lucky pick, but highly recommend it.
They messed up our food order and overcharged for the drinks.
My husband, son, and stepdaughter ordered the Reuben, chicken fingers (from the kids menu) and the FT Burger, respectively. I ordered the pan seared chicken. They loved their food, I even tried my son’s food as he’s two and wouldn’t finish all of it anyway and they were the best chicken fingers I had ever had, he agreed! My chicken, however, was not great. The portion was TINY, even though my meal cost $4.00 more than everyone else’s. The chicken was barely seared, leaving the skin soggy and not crispy at all. It was dry, the only thing making it even slightly moist was the sauce the crispy gnocchi’s were drowned in. Also, the gnocchis that were supposed to be crispy were in so much sauce that they were no longer crispy, if they ever had been. The beans were also soaking up too much sauce which made them taste extremely vinegar-y. I asked the waitress to take it back and make me another meal instead, so I tried the Korean Cheesesteak sandwich... MUCH better!! The noise level got a little loud but it was because we were at the end of a golf game so a bunch of golfers came in to eat, the person seating us had warned us of this before we even sat, and he had us sit in a different area so it would be quieter. The ambiance is great, they have interesting facts about fossils found on the property, and dinosaur decorations everywhere but it’s not tacky at all. The waitress was more than accommodating when I didn’t like my first meal, another person (I’m assuming the manager) even came over to apologize and ask me what else I wanted. Everyone is really friendly, even the guests, who were engaging my son and telling us how cute he is, etc. The only complaint I might have besides the chicken, is the menu is EXTREMELY limited. They have a lot of really yummy sounding sandwiches, but only like three things for dinner. I was really hoping for a nice steak as this was a special occasion, but what we all got in the end we were happy with. I’d go here again.
We had friends from out of town and wanted them to see the wonderful view from the restaurant. We ate on the patio and the sunset was gorgeous - the food was very good and everyone enjoyed their meal. Our server was gracious and funny. We are so pleased that this restaurant has turned around with new people -- it is really great!
Would definitely return for a brunch or to try a different type of meal as well. A little bit of confusion who our server was, was seated for about 5 minutes before we were asked if we had been helped. Also, they handed out flowers to the moms as we came in for brunch on Mother's Day, but apparently they ran out since we weren't offered one. I certainly didn't need one but some folks would be put off by that. Food was great.
Beautiful place outdoor seating is gorgeous but the food was not good.
Ordered an appetizer of baked artichokes and they were refrigerator cold inside and worm in the outside
Sandwich was dripping butter
It would be a favorite restaurant if they improved their cooking
Food was great! Service needs help ASAP! Slow, forgetful, and lacking personality. Ambiance inside was a little stale. I think the patio would have been a better place to sit.
Great view. Went hoping for a nice dinner date and they were only serving lunch menu. Food was good!
The staff here was very helpful and accommodating to my large group of people. That being said we caught them at a time when they were transitioning menus and they didn’t have a dinner menu, which was unfortunate. The food was cooked well, but under seasoned. I will need to go back with a smaller party and hopefully catch them on a good day.
Easter Brunch was great!
Easter Brunch was just great, all enjoyed it, including the two year old. Of all the myriad choices we sampled, the five of us only found one dish we didin't think was excellent, pretty good for a holiday buffet, and the price was lower than others I'd checked with. Despite being super busy, the staff were all extremely courteous and efficient, and the view was lovely, as promised.
The dinner and service were excellent at fair prices. The view was amazing of Table Mountain and Golden. It was quiet with only a few tables occupied, which is too bad considering how much we liked it. It is hard to find but follow signs for Fossil Trace Golf Course and that will take you there. I'm guessing it was quiet due to that it isn't yet well known.
Really good food--creative, flavorful and a good value (we went during Denver Restaurant Week). The only downside was the ambiance. The lights in the dining room were very bright--not dimmed in the least-- and the music was all 80s all night. Mony mony, Der Komissar, Down Under, etc.--I'm not kidding. While amusing, it was in complete contrast to the image the chef is portraying with the wonderful food.
I went for "Restaurant Week" and it was so tasty and enjoyable I have booked another table. I have eaten there three times now and I highly recommend it. A hidden gem!
Went during Denver restaurant week. The $25 menu was a good value. Food presentation was excellent as were portions and flavor. Richard did a great job keeping the meal rolling along. I thought the dining area was warm and comfortable. I plan on going back to enjoy their patio.
The food was awesome and the portions were huge. They also have a beautiful view.
Great menu selection for restaurant week! Chef even hooked us up with a free app!
Went for restaurant week, loved it, the pasta entree was on the small side, the Amuse Bousch was a nice addition, very yummy
The food was well prepared and beautiful. The service was attentive and pacing of the meal was relaxed but well done. Excellent meal!
Closed and kept reservation engine on, very unprofessional.
Had a great caesar salad with a giant piece of salmon for a very reasonable price. Delicious!
They changed their menu a few days before we had dinner there. They had a very limited menu, the price was high and the food was not very good. I had lunch there in the fall, the food was very good and a good value
You must go here for exceptional food and service. We tried 7 different menu items and loved each one of them!! Go.Now.
Had some start-up issues that I have confidence they'll correct. Good potential in a unique location. We'll be back.
This restaurant has great views, ambience and outstanding food. This was our first time visiting. When coming in after dark they are at the end of a very dark uninviting street. Keep going it’s worth it. I would definitely go back.
Had a last minute change in our wedding rehearsal time. None of the restaurants in Morrison would take a lunch reservation. This place did, and it was very good. Very spacious and bright. The food was excellent as well.
Loved this hidden gem.
Was surprised that it’s in the club house of the Fossil Trace Golf Club. The outdoor seating has an amazing view. The food was great. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend Schnepf’s. And thank you Open Table for helping us find this new favorite. We will be back.
Outstanding food. Best fine dining in Golden area. Food is so good I’d say it’s underpriced! Only drawback is atmosphere doesn’t live up to the food. It’s in the clubhouse of a public golf course hidden behind the Jeffco jail and public works garage. Beautiful views but fine food deserves better decor, lighting and music. 19th holers drinking beers need a separate sports bar section. All that said the food is so good it’s worth the effort of finding the place. Deserts are especially creative.
I have lived in Golden for 10 yrs and was unaware of this great, local restaurant near the Fossil golf course. Excellent meal (pork chop was incredible; risotto was delicious; cobia fresh and delicious). Key lime pie for dessert was spectacular and even the decaf coffee was superb! Recommend sitting outside to enjoy the wonderful views!
