Excellent service with great recommendations from our server. Some of the best Chinese food we’ve ever tasted.
This was our wedding anniversary which we celebrated with a trip to Toronto and dinner at this restaurant listed in Fodor’s guide. We weren’t sure what to order and waitress did not seem willing or able to offer suggestions. We ordered price fixe Surf and Turf and champagne. Champagne was not very cold but improved by second glass. Food was beautifully presented but monotonous, all very rich and one course out of order. All together a disappointing experience in a highly recommended restaurant. We are not unfamiliar with Chinese food, by the way. Perhaps we ordered wrong thing, but who knows.
spectacular meal with great service. located on second floor of hotel so just a bit harder to find.
Food was good as usual. Disappointed at the cocktail, but that was expected at a Chinese restaurant. The noice level was good, and that was after we asked to be seated at a different table. If not, we would be amidst other clients and that could be noisy.
Always great to see lots of Chinese people eating in a Chinese restaurant. The food is great and the service friendly and professional.
Strange to find it in a doubletree hotel, but it was so much better than we expected.
Very attentive staff, well worth the $$$. Will definitely be back.
Great spot, a little overpriced for Chinese food , but excellent service
Creative artwork that is also delicious!
Great atmosphere. Attentive staff.
Like it here for meetings. Staff knows you and is discreet and professional.
Great food and service
Excellent Peking Duck; service very attentive; personalized recommendations from owner; bring your appetite! Lots of wonderful choices!! Don’t miss this lovely gem.
We always enjoy this restaurant. They kept their standard and a great place to entertain guests. I never have to worry about their food or service when I invite guests to this restaurant for dinner.
Always good and consistent...best peking duck outside of Asia...
It was my first time having DimSum at this restaurant, which was recommended by a friend. The food was alright. I didn’t find it very special and different comparing to other DimSum restaurants. However, the service was excellent.
Nice setting on 2nd floor of the Doubletree Toronto on Chestnut. Lots of Chinese decor. Enjoyed the Peking duck appetizer. Served by the staff at table side. The rest of our entrees were good, but not great. The wait staff were very nice, but scarcely visited our table. That became more apparent as the room filled with diners. Might return for a special occasion, but priced above our regular dining venues.
I have eaten here regularly since the restaurant opened approximately 25 years ago and have had an outstanding experience every time.
In my opinion, the best Cantonese food in North America.
Food is good but very rushed from starter to main course..
The food was delicious but the bathroom was disgusting. Luckily I didn’t see it until I was leaving. There was human waste on the toilet seat and on the wall. It made me wish I had not eaten there.
Peking Duck is OUTSTANDING!
The food was good but the Peking duck portions was too few. Better do it like Hong Kong where duck meat were placed on a dish and the customer choose how many they want to eat.
Food was very mediocre. Not worth the price at all
The food was outstanding, especially the bbq pork pastries, egg tarts, shrimp dumplings, bbq steamed buns, and lobster dumpling. This place is more expensive than your usual cheap dim sum place, but the food is so much fresher and better that it is worth it. Great place for celebrating special occasions too.
We had a very good Dim Sum lunch. There were many choices and we were able to get a nice variety, all of which were very good. We asked that they not bring everything at once, which they did. This helped make the meal even more enjoyable.
Good ambiance for group meals. Decent Dim sum but not fantastic.
This is a truly beautiful place to have dinner! The room is gorgeous, as is the presentation at the table. We had dim sum appetizers, Kung pao and a shredded chicken and vegetable noodle dish - all excellent.
Really nice waiters. Food was also delicious, it was just actually a bit too quiet, but I still enjoyed the night out with my boyfriend very much! If you want to eat really good dim sum, Lai wah is the right place!
The food is terrible, especially the $100 fish soup, which is likely the worst fish souo I've ever gotten at a restaurant.
Excellent restaurant with great service. -888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888
Very good Peking duck. Outstanding service. Pricey.
We had a wonderful meal for my birthday celebration. The wait staff was extremely attentive. Lovely ambiance. Every dish was tasty and well presented. They brought out a special desert for my birthday.
Disappointing. Food was good but, given the price and the reputation, we expected more. Best were the sauces. Service was professional but not friendly.
very bad quality of foods for dinner dining ! exceptional expensive for its value.....
Our go-to place for upscale Chinese food. Peking duck is amazing and not a long wait. Everything else also much tastier than average. Service is excellent!! Expensive but if you are in the mood to splurge, this is a good choice.
Great food - good location in downtown. Nice ambiance, and dim sum service on Sat. Morning
it is good very much！
Always delicious food accompanied by high quality service. A personal favorite in Toronto.
Excellent old school traditional Chinese food and very attentive service. Roads around the area are a bit of a pain at the moment, but worth the trouble.
Very good dim sum but there was a certain sameness to the dishes. Services was professional and quick. Would certainly go back
Service, food, ambience do not justify the price
The $18 soup was a joke. $250 for 3 people.
