Dinner: Nightly: 5pm - 12am
We were seated promptly and enjoyed the ricotta very much. The artic char was heavily salted but the pizza and pasta were nicely done.
Went on a weeknight and place was packed. Space is super cute but also super tight. If you don’t enjoy chatting with your neighbors this is not the place for you.
Food was great but wine was very expensive for only adequate quality. If wine was half the price charged we would be back regularly...
Delicious and creatively prepared food in a cozy relaxed atmosphere. Short but interesting and thoughtful wine list that is reasonably priced and food friendly. Attentive and helpful wait staff and a chefs counter for those who like to watch the sausage being made.
Perfect in every way. The food is just delicious. It's often hard to get a table, so we go on Monday.
We like Barbuzzo very much. I have to say, though, that I found their food very greasy this time (could have been great with half the oil they poured on both the polenta and the pizza). Unfortunately, the noise level is bad. But we liked it anyways and will probably go back and order something that doesn't have that much oil.
Our server was amazing! Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Took initiative. Will come again for sure!
Food not as special as I remember the last time I visited.
Awesome place! We really love the small plates. The Autumn Salad was fabulous! It is a very small, cozy place, however, so if you have a large group, it might me very difficult to get a reservation.
Food is delicious. Today’s Friday lunch for our table of 5 was enjoyed by all- however the table service is lacking- we had a concert at 2pm and informed our server that we needed the check promptly- 10 minutes later we finally got the invoice- if the 20% gratuity hadn’t been added already- it would’ve only been 12%. We arrived to our venue with 3 minutes to spare-thankfully. But no thanks to our servers at Barbuzzo.
Incredible food but just be aware it can be a bit dark inside - sometimes hard to see the menu. Overall a 10/10
Food came fast and salad was good but pizza was flavorless. Noise level made conversation difficult. Given multi-alternatives in the area, I'm not sure this restaurant will last much longer.
My wife and I dined here while on a trip to Philadelphia to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We started with a beet salad. My wife commented that it was the best she had ever eaten. I had the grilled octopus. It was the first time I had ever tried grilled octopus and it was a little too tart for my enjoyment. I did eat the entire meal, but I wished I had tried another entrée. My wife had the Mergherita pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven. It was perfectly cooked. We shared an Italian budino custard for desert and I can't imagine how it could have been better. The service was outstanding.
We did a sampling of a variety of different dishes. Everything was outstanding! It's a small restaurant so the noise level was a little louder than normal, but I would still go on account of the delicious food. Our server Doug was also knowledgeable and great!
Third time to this restaurant and as always - fantastic. The roasted pork sandwich is worthy of
3 Michelin stars. I love this place and would eat here more if I lived in Philly.
Excellent choice of unusual dishes. Very good value. Somewhat noisy.
We got stuffed into a tiny two top I think as punishment for arriving later for a res that we attempted to call about. Their phone number was either busy or fax tone. They made it seem like that was our fault. However, the meal was good and we had a nice wait person. They just were not "nice" about our situation and their lack of phone connectivity.
Sever was great.
Lots of delicious choices at this busy neighborhood spot. Great beer menu, cheese or charcuterie platters, pizza and hearty main course dishes too. We came back after eating here last year and were very pleased with our meal.
We love this place and travel from NYC to come here. Barbuzzo and Chef Marcie Turney are fantastic and never disappoint. The standards are there as a wonderful specials. Get reservations early.
Wonderful ambiance, creative and tasty menu. Would definitely recommend
Great place for trying out food with modern twist. Portions are smaller for the price, but definitely worth visiting if you are in Philly.
Outstanding food - everything we tried was unbelievable. Our waiter was perfect - she knew the menu, was there when we needed her, and not when we didn't. It was VERY noisy and VERY small, in terms of cramped space, just as a note if you have hearing or mobility issues. I ate at a lot of places on my recent work trip to Philadelphia and this was by FAR the best!
Yummy Italian food with great flavors and an assorted menu of pizzas, pastas and meat and cheese of all sorts.
My gf and I shared the roasted beet salad, gnocchi, meatballs and char appetizer.
All was really tasty and filling.
We finished with the caramal budino. Delectable.
Excellent food & service. Great small plates to share. A little too noisy & very tight quarters.
My wife and I came here for our date night, and had a really good time. My wife had been craving a good cheese plate and was very impressed with their selection of cheeses. The food was great, my only complaints are it was very dark inside the restaurant, and the chairs were very uncomfortable.
Really great date place and the food was amazing
The food is always great. I always try something new whenever I go and nothing ever disappoints no matter what I try.
I loved this restaurant! Made reservations for 2 on OpenTable but chose to sit at the bar since it was open (this is my preferred seating at any restaurant). This place is small but not cramped with a cool but elegant feel. My husband and I EAT! We had 3 appetizers (tartare, ricotta, roasted carrots). The the tartare & carrots were amazing. I was not a fan of the texture of ricotta- it was smooth and creamy (which was just different for me). The bread served with ricotta & tartare was outstanding. We had 3 entrees- pork steak, artic char & a pasta dish with crab. They were all so tasty, unique and flavorful. We finished with 3 desserts- budino, olive oil ice cream & tiramisu- also outstanding and I don't normally order desserts when my entrees were excellent in fear that the desserts won't live up, but these certainly did. So yes, that's 9 dishes and several glasses of amazing Sangiovese. The plates are on the small side, but not tiny by any means... we can just put away good food in obscene quantities. Tim, our bartender made excellent suggestions and saluted our eating capabilities. Go here- it's awesome!
The food choices are varied, food preparation was tasty and beautifully presented. Very good value for the price. Atmosphere was cozy, relaxed and friendly.
We haven’t been there in a year and we were surprised to see several of our favorite sm. plates were off the menu. It seemed like a reduced sm plate menu. Taste was fair. Drink was a sm pour. Jamanero is now much better for us. Also, Bud & Marilyn’s is better.
Good food and great service but the seating is so tight that it is difficult getting in and out of your seat. You may as well be dining with the people at the table next to you as you are that close.
we went to celebrate our son’s birthday by his recommendation .
food was delicious and very exotic plates. a little dark and noisy but overall we loved it
Jump’in Tuesday night at Barbuzzo. Wife & I had an early dinner reservation but walk up 13th St on a mild Oct Tuesday showed a busy happy hour all around. We were seated on time but place was busy and took 20 min to get drinks. Our dinner & app orders were taken timely but food delivery was slow- meanwhile the place got really busy! My wife’s salad took an hour to appear- I got app & dinner much sooner. Her dinner was missed & refired - taken to go. They comped us a desert. That said: food was great- server was attentive- it was just really busy!! Noisey, crowded but not unpleasant. Can’t fault them for being popular.
We went here for an impromptu date night and it was great! The food was absolutely delicious, we were not disappointed. All of the positive reviews were spot on. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good food and good atmosphere.
A darker restaurant, might need to use a candle for the menu. Saw a few people use the flashlight on their phones.
Might have to lean in a little bit to talk and listen to the person you're dining with because of the noise level.
Food was great, although the bread and pizza crust was a little burnt. Other than that, the food tasted great. They say the portion sizes are "family size" and for the prices you would think they are, but they aren't quite as big as I'd have liked. We ate everything on the table, along with an appetizer and dessert, but we still felt a little hungry at the end. Prices weren't too bad, but not a place you could afford to go to frequently if you're on a budget.
Over all I had a good experience, but I wasn't blown away by anything. Great ambiance however. 🤙🏼
I loved their deliciously fresh tomato soup. We complimented our soup orders with a Chef's Board that had a variety of tasty veggies..will definitely be returning to try more from their creative menu!
It was amazing! The gnocci was my absolute favorite and the waitress was very kind and helpful in explaining the dishes and what she recommended. I would definitely come back here again and try other dishes.
Noisy and tight quartered but it is always a great place to eat.
As usual, the food was fantastic I particularly liked the new items on the Plates portion of the menu. The octopus and the steak were particularly impressive. This is one of the best restaurants in Philadelphia.
