    Liveliest place in Chicago. This place is perfection. If u like seafood hot or cold this is the best. Great clam chowder, oysters, shrimp, halibut, and of course crabs. Place has it all. There’s never an empty table and everyone’s enjoyment come from the great food. The Seafood Salad is a meal itself with delicious Louie dressing. This is a must visit when I’m in Chicago. I could eat here everyday.

    Our waiter completely forgot about our table of "8", he was more attentive to the other tables around us. We all ordered soups/salads and after 20 min. I went to find a manager to complain. We were then served. Once the main course was served he again ignored our need for additional items. He was not a good example of the service I normally get at SHAWS. Most displeased with the service

    Great selection of fresh seafood, oysters, Kung crabs, oh my! Their martinis are also very tasty. We enjoyed the lively vibe at the Oyster Bar, and will definitely go back!

    love the blue crab lounge....simple easy way to eat some super fresh oyster with a cold glass of chablis, wine program by the glass is well curated, crispy rice bites are a can't miss as are the maki rolls. ruben...was or server and he made us feel so welcome and watched the flow of food and drinks well.

    On our visit we had excellent oysters, golden king crab, and stone crab claws and finished with fabulous Key Lime Pie! Service is impeccable and what a beautiful old school dinning room. Highly recommend!

    I'm in Chicago once a year on business and always make a trip to Shaw's. I prefer to sit in the bar area because it's more casual and lively. However, the regular dining room is a treat as well. Amazing seafood and a great experience!

    The food is good. The side dishes are a la carte. The drinks are good and strong. Service is top notch. I hadn't been here in over a decade but it was just how I remembered. A1 service, food, and drinks. So may establishments lost their umph after the Pandemic but Shaw's has proven to stand the tests of time.

    Our server Rueben was very attentive but not very personable. The food was fine, but I wouldn’t say outstanding, especially for the price. We are from Maryland, and the “Maryland crab cake” on the seafood plater that my husband got was just “ok”. The drinks were over-priced, but the dessert was delicious. (Crème Brûlée and Key Lime Pie). Everything was over-priced. Won’t be on our “must return to” list when visiting Chicago.

    The environment is really cozy and classy. Great music and the atmosphere in general. Service was excellent. About the food was good but for crab legs that wasn’t at all what we expected. Price reasonable.

    Food is excellent ad always. Most professional waitstaff in Chicago. Excellent drinks selection. Best "old school" decor and ambiance. Great gor special occasions or a casual dinner when in the downtown area. One of my most favorite restaurants in Chicago.

    we ordered the crab, golden crab, it was OK, but not great, and the bill for 2 of us was over $400. One bowl of clam chowder, a couple of beers and the crab, total. Service wasn't great, if we needed somehting it took awhile to find our server. The end was terrible, we finished our crab, they cleared the table, took everything, including the bread we were still eating. I guess they were ready to turn the table, even if we wanted to order anohter beverage. This is a big NO for us

    I was in town for work and used Yelp to find a seafood restaurant. The reviews were spot on. This place was amazing all around! We had sushi and other appetizers, and the combination platters which were fantastic! Highly recommended!

    I was a bit disappointed. Steak was not good and not cooked to my request. Also didn’t like I had to move into the other room as someone had rented the restaurant. I only come to Chicago once or twice a year and I always eat at Shaw’s and have done so for many a year.

    Great evening, fantastic food. Our waiter, Corie was excellent with recommendations from the menu. Sea scallops and Halibut were great dinners, creme brulee was one the best I have ever had. Place had a great vibe as well. It reminded me of great supper clubs from the past

    Greatly enjoyed my dining experience at Shaw’s. Our entire party had not arrived until 15 minutes past the reservation, but we were seated promptly. Service was attentive with taking our drink orders, food orders, water refills, clearing dishes. Did not feel rushed which is always appreciated. Food was excellent. Enjoyed an oyster sampler, cup of gumbo soup, seafood chopped salad, Copper River salmon, key lime pie. My dining companions also enjoyed their food. Of all things, the side of mashed potatoes was a big hit. Ambience in the main dining room was very nice. Was a Friday evening and busy room, but was able to enjoy conversation with my party. Criticisms: the level of lighting was such that I could not read the menu. Solved that by using the flashlight feature on my phone. As anticipated, was a pricey meal. While value was mostly good, felt the portion of my Copper salmon entree was a bit on the small side. Overall though, very enjoyable meal and look forward to the next time.

    Our reservation was for 12:15 pm and we were on time. The main dining room was virtually empty. But we were seated closest to the kitchen, with many open tables that could have been chosen. I had customers already seated so I did not ask to be moved. The rest of the meal and the service were excellent.

    I've been going to Shaw's for years and really like the place: great food, great service and (usually) a very relaxing ambiance. This last time we got seated between two groups celebrating birthdays, so conversation was difficult at times, but that won't deter me from going back - I'll just ask for a table away from any large groups!

    Shaw's remains the best seafood restaurant in the city. Now that Chef Naoki is in charge of the sushi, it is among the best places for sushi as well. The dining room is still just lovely and the service is terrific. A great dinner out.

    Brought my beloved 90 yr old uncle who lives in Washington state. We immensely enjoyed the wonderful New England Clam Chowder and the sourdough bread. He actually moaned with delight as the halibut was so good. He ate every bit of the carrot/carrot puree and the majority of the baked potato before he had his Key Lime pie - which he described as wonderful. My scallops and Caesar salad were terrific - the scallops were exceptional and I love the white anchovies. We had a fantastic evening and I am so glad I can count on Shaw's to give people I love a memorable experience.
