It was fine, fairly expensive for the food and quality and the service you receive. Unfortunately not as good as we thought it would have been.

While servers were friendly and courteous, service was slow. No one checked on our table, i.e., "how is everything? - do you need anything?" The halibut was inedible - dry and tasteless. Vegetables were soggy and overwhelmed by sauce. Restrooms were a mess. The wooden casing for the sink in the ladies room is rotting. A guest ordered a glass of wine, never showed up. Oysters, caviar and stake tartare were very good.

The food and service were incredible but the ambiance was disappointing. We sat in the back dining room. It was empty (but okay, we ate at 6pm so early) but the tables were unremarkable (only one lonely little candle), and the furniture/decor was tired. The bathroom was old and outdated and I could’ve been in any bar in Boston. If you’re going to command the prices, the ambiance needs some attention. We left underwhelmed by the atmosphere even though the food and service was great. I’d rather spent half the money and go to a restaurant that invests in the actual experience of dining with an intentional point of view that matches the quality of the food.

I have had numerous wonderful meals here, but unfortunately, they were only offering a pre fixe menu this evening. The food was good but did not offer many of our favorite dishes. Pre fixe should have streamlined the service. The server was extremely proud of their quality of service but was unable to show cause for his arrogance. Since it was pre fixe, I ordered wine for each course at the very beginning. Each bottle of Champagne or white wine needed to be chilled before being served. I cautioned the server to advise the kitchen to not serve any course until the wine was served. The food was on the table for each course a minimum of 5 minutes before the wine arrived. I ordered 2 bottles to go with the main course but the second was not presented until we were finished with the course. We requested information about after dinner drinks, but we were given the check instead. I hope this meal was a gaff instead of an example of what to expect in the future.

Quite a disappointing experience. When seated, we could hear shouting and loud conflict in the kitchen which made the dinner seem forced. The staff seemed inexperienced and overextended so the service was uneven with long gaps between courses. We each had the Prix Fixe menu. We were not offered help with wine pairings (we were not offered wine at all until we requested it mid meal). The ricotta coquettes were quite oily and did not have the expected lightness. The prune filled gnocchi were interesting but heavy. The wait staff blew our main course selections. One of us ordered duck but was served halibut and would have needed to wait for her selection to be re-prepared out of sync with the rest of the party. She took the halibut despite her red wine accompaniment already at the table which was inappropriate but escaped the server’s acknowledgement. Unfortunately, the halibut was dry and so the main course was a weak point for the entire party. The chocolate mousse and semolina cake desserts were both delicious but we were not offered coffee until the dessert plates had been already cleared. In sum, The meal, the service and the ambiance were all letdowns for the reputation and a poor value for the price.

To start Ordered a Patron Margarita, we were told out of patron was then recommended another type of Tequila I had never heard of expected it to be of comparable value (guess this place likes to take advantage of less knowledgeable customers)Margarita cost 45 dollars. Then was served bottle of warm white wine and had to wait 45 minutes for it to chill before continuing to drink. Meals were presented great and flavors were also good but the price point is obviously geared toward “an experience” rather than just dining. Overall the service was terrible and generally feel like we were taken advantage of from the start with the drink situation. Will never return to a Barbra Lynch restaurant.

This was my first time dining at 9 Park and was for a business meeting after a long day of planning with our team. The food was outstanding. I made the reservation without even looking at the menu and didn't know what to expect, except for "being good". There were two selections: the Chef tasting or the four course dinner. It was a wonderful dinner. The flavor profile, the attention to detail, the heat, etc were spot on. My only negative is that we were seated near the kitchen which added to some of the noise but overall was acceptable. Since this was a Friday and we were there for business, it was totally ok. I would recommend it. It's pricey but more or less met my expectation.

A wonderful experience. Service starts before you arrive, calling to check on allergies and special occasions. The menu is limited and expensive, but the dishes range from high-quality to inspired. Steak tartare with squash puree? It absolutely works but keeps your attention. The signature prune-stuffed gnocchi with foie gras was a highlight. Staff was lovely and on a Sunday night the ambience was cozy and calm. There's no getting around the price -- there is no bargain option here -- but it delivered on quality commensurate to the cost.

Food was great and well presented. Service was a bit slow. The biggest disappointment was that there was no Sommellier on that night. If you are going to charge some of the wine prices you expect someone to be available to advise. As it happens we knew enough to make a choice but it would have enhanced our experience to get some guidance.

The service was outstanding the food however was mediocre at best. We chose the Prix Fixe option which allowed for some choices but was very limited. Actually, the best items we had were all ones with an additional up charge. For instance, we began with a shellfish platter which was one of the best things we ate. In addition, my husband had the stuffed gnocchi and we both finished with the chocolate soufflé. I had steak tartare to begin with which was absolutely tasteless then tagliatelle and the halibut which was over cooked and dry. My husband began with the ricotta fritters which were delicious and duck for the main which was prepared two ways. The confit was good but the breast was tough and rubbery. Also, we were never offered coffee or tea with our dessert. One other note is we were seated by the kitchen, throughout the meal we constantly heard the chef calling out the orders, it was quite annoying and I definitely would not recommend sitting there. So, all in all, not a memorable meal especially for the price. We have dined at many fine restaurants this is one we will not be going back to.

Not sure what happened - this was not up to No 9 standards. Both the food and the wine pairings missed the mark on many of the tasting menu’s courses. And, for some reason the chefs in the kitchen were yelling throughout the meal. Also, we had trouble communicating about a nut allergy regarding the bread - the server did not speak English and never returned to answer our questions.

My Wife and I were very excited to try this restaurant for our one year wedding anniversary. We met almost a decade ago in Boston and used to walk by this restaurant all the time, saving the time we do visit for a special occasion. The decor features classic Beacon Hill prominence, albeit the tables slightly smushed together, as the dining room filled, it become a little hard to navigate, creating mini traffic jams of customers and staff alike. I chose the chef's menu, whilst my wife chose the pre-fixe so we can have the best of both worlds. Overall, both menus started very strong -- the first two on the chef's tasting and the steak tartare appetizer were excellent. We hoped this would be a sign of great things to come as the menu evolves. However, and especially for the pre-fixe, the consistency of high quality food did not continue. We found the beef cheek overcooked, the tagliatelle average, and the maine halibut very overcooked it was very dense and chewy (my wife couldn't even bother to finish it). Having the final entree on the pre-fixe come out to be overcooked and underwhelming as a plate really sealed our assessment of No. 9 Park. Here's the good: Desserts were great, and bread service was excellent though! Service was also top notch - highly attentive servers, knowledgeable on the wine, and introduced the dish in great detail in case we forgot! They were great sports and I wish the food matched their spirit and attitude. Overall, for what ended being a $500 or so dinner (we had a $100 bottle of wine with dinner FYI), the value was seriously lacking when compared to other Boston staples of fine dining (including Barbara Lynch's other restaurants - and considering this is her flagship, we were expecting it to be much much better). This was not a bad meal by any measure - but it's not a restaurant we would return to strictly based off of the value we received. You will find better food at a lesser cost elsewhere.

A nice spot though we struggled to finish the four courses which were relatively large. Pretty dining room. Good location. Well prepared food. Service by waiter was unobtrusive and pleasant. The chap pouring our bottled water put his fingers on the top of the bottle which was unhygienic.

I had eaten several years ago at No 9 Park’s sister restaurant in Boston and did the Chefs Tasting. It was outstanding! I was very disappointed I the overall appearance of the restaurant, the service ( they forgot our wine pairings) and the overall experience. They ran out of the dessert that was on Chef’s tasting menu as well. I did not think it was worth what we spent. Very disappointed

Hi, We've been coming to No.9 Park for several years, when we first moved to Boston and since we left and come back every year to visit. This is the first time it feels that the overall experience was not the premium food, dining, service experience we used to have. The food was ok, it was the same if not similar menu but something was off with it. Didn't feel as curated as it used to be. Presentation and plate sizes were off. In general, just a decline in vibe, presentation and experience. I would be hard pressed to recommend until there's some sort of attention to the detail they used to be known for.

I was really disappointed in the meal. The food was okay but very basic. The service was really a let down. It was a quiet Sunday early dinner and I still didn't receive a glass of wine I ordered to pair with my appetizer. I ordered a different wine for my entree in it's place, with no apologies from staff regarding my missing wine.
