We had a very early reservation on a Friday night. We were the only ones there for a little while. Our server, Justin, made our experience even better and we want him again next time! The shareable menu was a delight with our table of four, perfect for our love of culinary discoveries. The anchovy (smoked and not fishy at all!) with grilled bread and the steak tartare were excellent starters. One of the leaves meant for filling with the tartare (the sawtooth edge one) was nicely peppery and really elevated the dish- not that it needed to be. The other appetizer, the smoked beets, were complemented by the bone marrow vinaigrette beautifully, but the texture of the beets was a bit too chewy. After that we shared the rigatoni, radiatore and sautéed seasonal mushrooms. All were so good and beyond what you’d expect. Can’t wait to try some of the other dishes. The Barish Martini is an herbal Italian Martini that was really nice to start the evening with. And toward the end I ordered a Paper Plane, a bourbon and aperol cocktail that was gorgeously delicious. Perfect ending.

The food prices were on the high side. The cesar salad was very good. The steak tartar and cucumbers were also very good. Everything else was so so. Overall the food was less than. I expected given the prices. The New York Strip Steak ($135) was tough and chewy. The service was very good as was the ambiance.

I’ve been wanting to try this spot for months and finally dined here last night. Located inside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, the space itself is absolutely stunning! Service was phenomenal throughout, and the menu boasts an eclectic collection of Italian Dishes & Steak, as well as amazing cocktails. Favorite dish of the night was the rigatoni and parker house rolls, and the fries were pretty tasty too. Would definitely come back here, the food and vibe were awesome!

Located in the Roosevelt Hotel, first level so not hard to find. Great decor and goes with hotel. Open kitchen with wood fire grills . Beautiful bar and great drinks. Enjoyed the menu options, they says dishes are sharable , I agree with exception of entrees. We had the ham which is like a Spanish Jamon and I think a better deep flavor. Had the smoked beets next and amazing flavor so surprised especially as I am not a fan of beets but my wife convinced me. We had the lamb again an amazing flavor the smoke from the wood fire and their season was on point. Service from being seated to finish was just what you want. My wife had a foot splint and took care to seat up at table that was comfortable for her. Server was knowledgeable, nice and kept us up to date on timing. Food does take a little longer to get to table, I imagine due to style of cooking and well worth the time so be prepared. If you have a show or concert give yourself at least two hours. A little on the pricier side , but I did not mind by the end of meal.

Service was OK-server said she would course our order-did a terrible job. One salad came, then when the other was delivered, 10 mins later, the app and bread came together. The steaks were not cooked to order and the steak knives were not sharp at all! I’m so disappointed in a Nancy Silverton restaurant- expected more.

Every part of The Barish brings an elevated experience. It is easily one of the best restaurants in LA, but there is an uncharacteristically "homey" feeling here. The management and servers are so personable and warm. The food is honestly at a level I have not found in LA. The thought and care that goes into the preparation of each ingredient is evident the moment it passes your lips. Cannot recommend more highly!

The food here is so delicious. We have been several times. It is our favorite restaurant when we are going to the Dolby to see a play. The rolls are buttery and decadent. The bean salad is a favorite and the rigatoni with tangy goat cheese and sage is spectacular. The servers are attentive and time each course is well timed so you have time to enjoy each course. We love this restaurant.

Celebrating lots of birthdays and a college graduation on the same night. Nancy's place did not disappoint! It is a given that the steak was awesome but so many tasty things we did not expect! The Caesar was arguably the best salad we have ever eaten. The pizza fritta piled high with ricotta was a spectacular side bite as well. Service was impeccable. Would definitely go back (after saving some money :) ).

I dreaded going to this restaurant, along with my friend. Our Pantages shows were sent to The Dolby, & we liked the convenience to the theater. The food is not great, the absolutely WORST Caesar Salad ever! The chicory is SO bitter & it is SMOTHERED in Parmesan. Others complained too…. I know it’s a steak house, which is VERY difficult if you are a vegetarian or a pescatarian. Everything has meat! Hence the Caesar salad. The portions are small & expensive. We resorted to the 1 fish dish or a pasta, which are tiny portions. Their Parker House roll is $8, enough said!!

We generally enjoy eating at the restaurant when we stay at the Hollywood Roosevelt, but last night was outstanding! All of the staff were exceptionally nice, and helpful. We sat so we could watch the kitchen and it was a beautifully orchestrated ballet of hard working and beautiful cooking! The meal time was long, but with everything cooked to order and their excellent coursing the evening was fabulous!

We had ticket to a comedy show downstairs, so we decided to have dinner here beforehand. From the first moment to the last, everything was excellent. Food was fantastic. Blythe, our server was knowledgeable, professional, charming and down-to-earth. Our busser was also very courteous and pleasant. Since we only live 5 blocks from there, we will be back even if we don't have show tickets.

Hosted some friends for a birthday celebration dinner - our first time here. The room is beautiful with an upscale, but not stuffy, vibe. Our server, David, was excellent as were the support staff. All dishes were good but highlights were the pizze fritte with ricotta, the pasta torchio, and the hot fudge sundae. The NY steak was very good but not exceptional - the only item that seem way too pricey for what it was. But all-in-all a great dining experience.

The Barish is beautiful. A throwback to Hollywood’s golden days. You’ll dine in splendor, but it will be crowded, noisy splendor. Our server was great: friendly, accommodating, timely. Food: Pea pasta (different name): not what I expected. Basically a deconstructed lasagna. They bake their pastas at the last minute which made for a crusty top, almost like a crème brûlée. Very pea forward, which was fine, but the pasta did not shine and there wasn’t enough sauce to compensate for the sharp pea flavor. Pasta made well, with simple ingredients, can shine. This felt overdone. 3/5 Lamb: $45. If you like very rich meat, this one is for you. I found it gristly and tooth to swallow. If you like lamb, however, you may enjoy it. The rich jus was a nice compliment. Fries: big spears of potato wedges, a big greasy, with a bland sauce (sorry I can’t recall, it was orange). Again if you like this sort of thing you might love these. I didn’t. Creamed chard with mustard seeds: A lot of mustard seeds. Covered in them. Overkill. Another example of style over substance. How about stirring in a house made Dijon? Fresh rolls: bigger versions of bagged rolls. Still good with that salted butter provided. Summery: if rich food (for rich people) in an elegant old Hollywood setting is your thing, you will enjoy the Barish. All of that dishes were hot, thoughtfully presented and my husband enjoyed them (though he did not love them.)

Lovely ambiance, pizza fritti & Caesar were the best dishes we had. Pastas (rigatoni and torchi) were also great, well done. Only disappointment was sadly the 15oz New York cut. The taste from its aging wasn’t enjoyable and it was tougher than expected with it being medium rare. Overall service and ambiance was impressive.

The Barish was our choice for dining pre-Paleyfest. What a great choice it was! The ambience is very old school in keeping with the historic Roosevelt Hotel. The menu is a modern twist of Italian food with a bit of Michelin flair thrown in. Dishes are meant to be shared but my husband and I each ordered our own entree and it was fine. The Caesar salad was deliciously huge and two plates were presented! The amazing roll with a huge amount of butter is a must! Our server paced our meal perfectly! My duck pasta and my husband’s rib eye cap steak were perfection! Paired with a lovely Italian vino di Montepulciano we couldn’t have enjoyed it more! Definitely recommend dining here if in the area!

Very underwhelmed. Each dish took so long to arrive, we had a 7:15 reservation and it took until 10 to finish our meal. They kindly comped the last dish which arrived so late and was very over-cheesy. It’s a nice space, but we won’t be returning.
