Our experience was completely mediocre: food, service, ambiance. Food was greasy and uninspired, made without any attention to quality or care. The free garlic bread left a bad taste in my mouth. Service was perfunctory and the waiter called my husband "boss," which he found insulting. The bland pop music playing over the sound system just made everything worse. There were hardly any customers. We will never return.

We chose this restaurant as a midway point to meet family. We had never been there before and we were pleasantly surprised. Great location along the Hudson River. Welcoming atmosphere along with great service from staff. All our food choices were delicious!! We are going to make this place our meeting spot tradition.

X2O next door was first choice, but decided on Dolphin because I love seafood and reviews were good. Tired of wasting money on sub par food. Shrimp Spring roll appetizer was egg rolls with soy sauce saturated shredded veggies. Flavor was so underwhelming. Crab nachos were really tasty—best dish of the night. My husband’s angus burger did not agree with him the next morning. Next time we’ll go to X2O—much more expensive, but receives excellent reviews—Amazing food and experience are worth it.

I come here often for lunch. My first dinner with friends was great. We ordered calamari, red snapper fillet specials, carrot cake and bread pudding. The service was great, food was delicious and ambiance was warm and fun. We enjoyed watching families also have a great time. The back room is low key if you don’t want to eat outside or in the front. We will be back. Thank you.

I’ve frequented Dolphins on several occasions and have always had a great experience. The staff is very courteous, polite, and professional. I appreciate the attention to making sure the customers are satisfied. The food is very delicious no matter which meal I select. The ambiance beautiful!

We decided to eat indoors due to the 3 empty table outside not being clean or set. The appetizers were really good. We ordered the crab nachos and little neck clams, a half a dozen. We were very happy with our selections. Entreès were a different story. There was a hair in one of the plates. Deep in the Asian fried rice was a black hair. While fighting flies at the table, there was a thick piece of hair in my daughter’s food. George replaced it but we were not satisfied with just that. We were conflicted to say the least. I just wanted to bring this to your attention and not to the public by making a public review. We feel cheated especially because I paid full price for a meal that had hair in it.

The menu was cookie cutter. The food was average. The pasta was tart. The waiter was nice. One thing I did not like is that the 18% gratuity was not mentioned, but on the menu it says, "for your convenience we've added an 18% gratuity. I was about to leave more than that and I realized it was added to the bill. If I was not paying attention, my tip would have been $50! I find these small print material facts a bit deceiving. I would not go again. The view of the waterfront was nice.

Excellent dinner experience at The Dolphin! Parking was tricky as valet service was limited and street parking is minimal. However the service made up for this as we were able to have nice cocktails prepared for us, which packed quite a punch! Most of the party of 6 ordered from the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week menu, which was a nice prix fixe menu with 3-4 options per course. Everyone was pleased with their meals! We would definitely return and recommend to others! Thanks to the staff at The Dolphin. :)

We were limited to just a vday menu. My steak was over cooked and so was my lobster. It took about 20 mins for the waiter to even introduce themself to us. Was not a busy night. The food was tasteless, overpriced, and completely overcooked.

Good food was marred by very slow service. Service was slow, even at the beginning of the evening when a few people were in our area. It took about 25 minutes to get bread, and our waiter seem to want us to be drinking a lot more before he would take our food order.

Service and food were great! Loved eating by the water with a beautiful view just steps away from the restaurant. Valet parking made everything so much easier bc we did not have to try to find parking in this busy part of town.

The Starter: Fried calamari with cherry peppers and dip was very good. The Pear salad and seared salmon entrée was delicious. We arrived before evening around 4pm and sat outside with the view of the water. The noise level was low and not busy. We specifically chose that time so it was relaxing. It was a nice experience.

Even with umbrellas it was too sunny and hot to eat outside. No a/c inside, just fans. Not directly on water; view from a distance. Nice bar area but table area small and not too comfortable. Ordered beef short ribs after being told it was “tender” but it was stringy and chewy. Waiter was not attentive, slow service even though at 1:30 it was not very crowded. When told about beef dish he reluctantly offered a replacement. We chose the eggplant parm which took a long time to prepare but was quite good. Other meals, pear salad and seafood linguini were good but pricey. We had one wine, one beer and 1 Long Island ice tea. No dessert even though we told waiter we were celebrating a bday. Tip was included in bill. Very pricey. Not worth the $. Also bread was stale.
