Our first time but definitely not our last! The food was amazing, drinks were delicious, staff was super nice and helpful, and the pricing is unbeatable for a steakhouse! Very impressed!
Good steaks. Step below city's best in quality and price... But good value and better than the 'Longhorns' of the industry.
The food was outstanding and Myra was an excellent server friendly and very knowledgable of the menu. Next time we're in Penn's landing this will be the place we will visit every time.
Best birthday I've had thanks my hubby xo
We came here with a TravelZoo voucher that was a good deal (2 glasses of wine, 1 appetizer, 2 entrees). Even though this is a steakhouse I ordered their pork chop w/ apple chunks. It was perfect! My husband ordered a NY strip and potato and vegetable kabob. We had to pay extra for these, of course. We thoroughly enjoyed the glasses of Malbec and the food was prepared very well. We'll be back for the late night menu after a movie for sure.
Unfortunately, it was a cold, windy night, and the front door didn't close. Staff had to continuously reach through the curtain and manually close it. Having said that, the food and service was wonderful, but keep your coats handy.
This is our fave place in Philly. The cocktails, the steaks, the service. It’s all top-shelf to us. We love it!
Food was excellent. Place was too noisy due to a very large party. We were seated as far from the group as you could get. Service was excellent. Having the TravelZoo coupon is a great value. Will definitely go again.
Reservation time was not honored (20 additional minutes) food was good but overpriced, service was friendly but not attentive. Can't recommend, unfortunately.
Amazing food and amazing service! Told them about my gfs bday and they came out and sang! Steaks was perfectly cooked and we were super satisfied.
It was amazing and I’m picky about any kind of Latino cuisine, being Latina. Everything we had was delicious. Our waitress was super sweet, very accommodating and had great suggestions. Can’t wait to go back!
We met a couple, friends visiting from out of town and staying at a nearby hotel, at the restaurant. Having not received any request for feedback, the hostess must not have acknowledged our Open Table reservation.
The young male server asked us about drinks, and we ordered and also ordered a bottle of wine from the wine list. He left and returned very shortly advising us that the wine, which we chose was not available. He suggested an alternative, which was priced $10.00 higher. We asked whether it shouldn't be provided at the same price, and he went to his manager to inquire. We were advised that they couldn't do that. So, we accepted the higher priced bottle.
We have calamari and mussels, which we shared, and they were quite good. I ordered the pork chop, and my wife, salmon. The salmon was terribly undercooked, and the server had not inquired how she wanted it prepared. My pork chop was quite good, however. The other couple ordered a salad to share and the 12 ounce filet to be prepared "medium rare." That piece of meat was not at all "medium rare" or even cooked "rare." It was grossly raw. I'm guessing that it was nearly frozen at the time of cooking, and, beyond about 1/8" in, it was not cooked at all. They were unable to eat it. If the restaurant's chef cannot prepare that $51.00 piece of beef for it to be edible, then it shouldn't be on the menu. We let the server know, and, when we received the check, the filet was taken off, but not the salmon. Neither the manager or the chef came to apologize. We'll never go there again, and we will also discourage others from patronizing the restaurant.
I was terriby embarrassed since I chose the restaurant.
Food and service were both very good. Had an excellent time.
First time. We’ll definitely go back.
I first went here with a friend for restaurant week. I really enjoyed the food so I took my husband for our date night. I think I have found our new steakhouse! The food was better than some other steakhouses that I've been to but Marmont was reasonably priced.
This is my first ever written review of a restaurant and unfortunately it’s not positive. We went to Marmont tonight for a nice steak dinner. We were enjoying our second glass of wine and in the middle of our entree when it happened. I looked at the floor and thought I saw something moving. I kept watching and didn’t see anything so I dismissed it as a reflection from outside traffic.
Then I glanced over again and saw it. A mouse. Scurrying about in the middle of the restaurant. I quietly alerted our server who assured me she’d let the manager know. The server returned a few minutes later and informed us she told the manager as promised. We stopped eating immediately and promptly declined dessert and requested our check.
It took quite some time for the check to arrive, but we assumed the manager would visit our table to apologize. Finally our check arrived and upon review it was wrong - insult to injury. We alerted the server to the error and she agreed that the charges were incorrect. One line item we questioned was the $24 “service fee”. She said that 18% was added to our check automatically even though suggested gratuities were listed below.
As we awaited the revised check, we saw mice running about through the middle of the restaurant. We didn’t make a scene and were very polite. When the server returned with the correct bill, we received nothing but attitude. No apology. She just dropped our check on the table and was flippant about our concerns.
We weren’t looking for handouts, but would have appreciated an apology and serious acknowledge of the issue. A visit from management would have gone a long way.
We are repeat customers of Marmont, but after this experience we won’t return.
I have a strict no salt diet and my food came out with salt.
Service was very sloppy. The server brought our second drink and said “this one is on me”. Then brought the check but only the credit card slip. When I asked he replied: “Snap, I forgot...” not very professional!!! The appetizers were good, the steak was tough and very over salted.
Me, Marcos and his aunt
Had the rib-eye steak which was so tender you could cut it with a fork Calamari seasoned to perfection. Bread pudding moist and delicious. Will definitely return.
No prices listed on the menu during Restaurant Week yet it was reasonable and well worth the price.
This was our second time at Marmont & we loved it. The food and atmosphere was amazing, as always. There is no other place that serves rib eye as delicious as Marmont! Melt in your mouth. Crab bisque and potato soup are perfect for the fall! I look forward to getting the lobster ravioli every time. Their homemade desserts are to die for!!
The only complaint was our waitress. Last year's waitress was amazing! Wish we had had her again. This year ... she was not very personable. Seemed like she didn't want to be there. There was a mix up when we paid - she had charged the 2/3 of the bill on one person's card, when it was supposed to be split with two cards & part cash. She decided to keep the cash for herself and charged $100 of our bill to one person's card. When I brought it to her attention, she grabbed the receipt and card out of my hand & just seemed very unhappy. It was a simple mistake - not a big deal, just wanted it to be corrected. I feel like she was upset she wasn't getting that actual tip amount, not that she deserved it. Oh well. Overall, great time with friends. We'll be back - and requesting our first waitress!
We came for restaurant week. Had reservations for 8:30 and weren’t seated until 9:00. That would’ve been fine if the service at the bar while we waited wasn’t terrible. They had one bartender working for the whole restaurant, so he was making service bar drinks for at least 15 minutes straight without even looking at us. Not his fault, but poor management. It was also really loud inside. Obnoxiously loud to the point of screaming to talk to the person next to me.
Appetizers and desserts were good. The steaks we had were horrible. Literally the worst steak I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Extremely chewy and not cooked to the correct temperature. Staff was friendly. Overall, pretty bad experience.
Restaurant week menu had terrific choices. Other than the calamari, which was really tough, food was good. Incredibly loud noise level made conversation at our table for 4 impossible.
Ordered a medium steak and they made it medium well sent it back and the 2nd steak was just as bad. I was hungry so i just ate it and it had nothing but fat on it. The cheesesteak roll wasn’t good either. Really upsetting experience.
Went to Marmont with a friend for restaurant week. The crab bisque was great; I would go back for it! The bread pudding was also good. However, everything else was just okay. Rib-eye was a little tough, caesar salad was satisfactory, ravioli was good, but after the crab bisque was no contender...
Everything here was excellent! The food was beyond delicious, especially for it to had been a pre-fixed menu. We started with the crab bisque which had really chunky pieces of lump crab meat. Then I had the Marmont salad which was very tasty, the smoked cheese gave an otherwise good salad a very pleasant flavorful burst. Then I had the lobster ravioli, OMG. Can it get any better? The seasonings were perfect! Not too overpowering and def not at all bland (like in many other restaurants). My daughter had the crab stuffed tailspin served on a bed of risotto. That too was very flavorful and the lump crab meat again was a perfect compliment. We ended with desert, she had the chocolate mousse cake and I had the bread pudding with a scoop of ice cream. I didn’t want to leave. The food, the service and the staff were awesome. I cannot wait to come back and try their other options!
Had a reservation for 5:30 but we weren’t seated until 6:10.. hostesses didn’t seem very concerned or apologetic about it either.
Everything was awesome except the cake , we were super impressed because the venue does not strike you at first as a 4-5 star restaurant but the food was amazing until we got to the dessert it was dry 🙁
The food was good and the service was great, we ate outside because the inside was kinda TIGHT, but overall a pretty good spot
Marmont was underwhelming. The food was subpar and the atmosphere was more dingy college bar than steakhouse. The waitress was nice and the drinks were delicious. Only would return for very quick drink.
Great soup and steak - restaurant week menu a big plus! More than enough choices.
Great food and atmosphere overall, servers were great as well!
Went for restaurant week. Had a 4 course meal. Soup was amazing. Calamari was ok. NY strip steak was cooked to perfection. Everything was great until I saw a mouse running around on the floor. I told the waitress who didn’t seem too concerned. I asked for my desert to go and then left the restaurant. Because of the mouse I won’t return to eat at this restaurant anymore.
It was my first time here. I thought it was rather dark inside with spot lighting. The service okay. The food was good. The cocktails were pretty good. I would try this restaurant again.
the restaurant charged card twice and terrible service.
We dined during Center City District Restaurant week. Our reservation was for 2 but a friend decided to join us; they were very accommodating. The 4 course menu was great. Everything we ordered was delicious. Crab bisque with lumps of crab meat, large Caesar salad, 12 oz. rib eye cooked to order and the chocolate cake that had to go home with me. I also ordered the Brussels sprouts cooked in bacon. They were great. We like trying new places during restaurant week. We will be back.
Very good food and great menu choices. Service was excellent. Great for date night
Tables are too close, does not feel private
Overall it was a good experience. The waitresses was very friendly and the seating was comfortable. Although the food was very fresh, the bland seasoning was a letdown. While the food wasn’t bad, it was definitely seasoned more for people who think salt and parsley make food taste better..
