Sabatinos is always consistent. You never wait long to be greeted by your server and water, bread and first round of drinks are always prompt. The food never differs. That's a good thing. If you're in the mood for some Italian food, Sab's does a nice job. My only drawback is their timing. Be careful when ordering because the food comes out very quick. If you want to have dinner and be in and out in under an hour, this is your place. I tend to like to dine, so I enjoy service to slow down a bit but that's just me.
The experience started with a fantastic host and waitress.. Very nice personalities and it went on quite pleasantly from there. The food was incredible and very much a good value. Try the Escargot and the Bookmaker Salad...sooo good.
They are great at accommodating large parties. We always have about 10 which isn’t a problem. Service is excellent with very friendly staff. Food is excellent. The marinara sauce is great. Love the baked gnocchi and the manicotti.
Sabatino’s never changes, thankfully. As always the food was delicious and we always look forward to the Bookmaker Salad. My pasta with clam sauce and my friends Veal dish were superb. The only down side was minor, our server obviously wanted to turn the table because she brought the check in the middle of dessert. And, the lace curtains needed a good cleaning.
I have dined at Sabatino's many times years ago and the food and service were always very good. However, until my recent visit, I had not been there in about 8 years. The food was edible but not of good quality. I had the Eggplant Parmesan which was overloaded with cheese and not much eggplant. My dining companion ordered a daily special with pasta broccoli, shrimp and lobster with garlic and oil overpriced at $38. She didn't like it and requested Alfredo sauce for the dish. The waitress was very accommodating but unfortunately she couldn't do anything about the quality of the food.
We met for a family birthday dinner. The server was Diane and she was wonderful. She was very attentive and service was impeccable.
Not the same Sabatino’s I knew from back in the day. The prices have gone up and the food quality has gone down. The Italian bread was terrible and not fresh. Many better Italian restaurants. Don’t waste your money or your time. Sabs has seen much better days. It’s a real shame.
Always love eating here!
The table was set for our group when we arrived. But there were no menus on the table. We waited and the server introduced himself and we thought he would notice, but he never did. So we asked for the menus ourselves. The food was standard. Nothing truly amazing or that we would highly recommend. It wasn’t bad either. But not worth us returning. The tartufo dessert is the only good thing that was delicious and memorable. The server was really nice. Most of the staff was also well. But the server was slow as well. We divided the charges for the bill with him but it took him an extremely long time to return. Honestly, a nice small spot. But not worth me recommending it to people.
Brought seven friends to Sabatino's to dinner. Excellent service. Food was delicious!
I loved my meat ravioli. It is difficult to find good, authentic veal ravioli around Baltimore these days. Restaurants either only have cheese or other faddish ingredients; not what I am looking for. The host was welcoming; the waitress was efficient and friendly. My husband's lasagna was very good; he was pleased with the sauce. A huge compliment because he always thinks his own sauce is best. Wine prices were reasonable. We love the option of having a carafe. I'm looking forward to returning to Sabatino's!
We were there for lunch. The staff was very attentive and super friendly. The food and drinks were very good. I would totally recommend having one of their desserts as well! We did not feel rushed -- it was a very relaxing and enjoyable visit!
Went to celebrate a birthday and had amazing Italian food!
Great food, large portions, friendly servers, wonderful cocktails.
We had the Bookmaker salad and our server shared the story behind the salad and some other tidbits about the restaurant. The homemade dressing is the perfect finish, but be aware that this salad is a meal in itself and a Sabatino's tradition. The lasagna was rich and tasty and it was just an enjoyable meal. We went late on a Sunday evening so it was easier to park and the restaurant was quieter than normal.
Where to start...empty restaurant, and our party of 7 was sat right next to a toddler. A loud toddler. Seriously, know your room. Speaking of the room, it was a sauna. We asked for the air conditioning, and that didn’t happen either. Oh, the light fixtures? They are currently being held in place by what looks to be Saran Wrap. Not one of them, mind you, most of them in the back room. If you hadn’t noticed, Saran Wrap retains dust.
The food really wasn’t great either. Three of us didn’t bother finishing our meals. The server didn’t seem to wonder why.... yikes.
It was overall a poor experience in one of Baltimore’s famous Italian spots. Clearly it was a great spot 30 years ago. Sadly, it felt like Sabatino’s sent out the Junior Varsity to run the shop tonight.
Recommended to us. Salad was great. My chicken dish sounded good but tasted like the chicken was boiled and just added to the other ingredients. No taste at all.
Maybe they were having an off night, but this was the worst meal by far that I've had in a long time, and the atmosphere was nonexistent in this 4+ star restaurant. I ordered a very simple dish, the Brasciola (braised meat rolled with an egg stuffing and red sauce), which is typically quite tasty, but this Brasciola was tough and the meat sauce had literally 15 large pieces of almost raw green pepper overwhelming the entire dish. We picked away at it, but we definitely did not want to get our dessert and coffee at this place, and couldn't wait to leave!
So we walked a couple of blocks to Fleet Street, and happened upon another Italian restaurant called Tagliata where we decided to get dessert and coffee. Eventually Nick the manager stopped by to welcome us, and I told him that I was glad to be in his restaurant because we had had a terrible meal at Sabatino's and were looking for something to balance it out. I had a glass of port, my wife had a delicious cappuccino, and we had a fabulous dessert.
When we asked for the check, the waitress told us that everything was on the house, which came as a total surprise, so we tracked down the manager to thank him and to ask him why the random act of kindness. And he said, "No one should ever have a bad meal in our city, so I wanted to make it up to you."
Don't go to Sabatino's. I think they are riding on their laurels and have forgotten what great Italian food should taste like, and they certainly don't care much about their atmosphere. We shouldn't have gone there, but they did have 4+ stars on Open Table....
Good Italian food off the beaten path from the Harbor. It was super easy to make a reservation online and when we arrived they were ready. Seriously, this is an old school restaurant that could manage online reservations WAY BETTER than new restaurants. We didn't wait at all; as we all have, watching staff fumble around trying to figure things out. Food was good and they have fast service and a good wine list.
Excellent service and food! We have several food allergies and they have accomidated us on multiple occasions after we called ahead a day!
Uninteresting, old school American Italian - as opposed to real, seasoned tasty Italian. Bland veal, spaghetti side with sauce that never met a spice, gloppy Alfredo, and truly terrible gnocchi made only from ricotta - no potatoes.
Tina is a fabulous dinner concierge!
I had two friends recommend Sabatinos, but I was very disappointed. The food was below average, I started with the escargot, which came out of the shell in a watery sauce, with just a hint of lemon and garlic. The bread wasn't worth a bite, no crust, no chew, no seeds, it was just soft white bread. For my main course I ordered linguini with white claim sauce, while the pasta was at least aldente, the claims were from a can, with no taste. If I didn't know they were clams, they could have just as easily been canned chicken or tuna. A restaurant with that kind of reputation should serve a top notch clam sauce made from fresh clams, or take it off their menu. I won't be going back, or recommending it to anyone!
Love this place! Peachy is the greatest!!
Disappointed. Never disappointed in Little Italy, but tonight was different. Our table was lovely and good service, but my food—rigatoni—was bland. And the pasta on top of the dish was hard and overdone. I didn’t complain cause we were with friends, but they all tasted my food and agreed. Nobody else had pasta and sauce. On the plus side, the salads were excellent.
An old favorite in Little Italy...comfortable and the service is always great.
Italian landfill......tasteless....greasy....bad wine.....
Awesome server. Made the evening for us. Thank you.
Only my second time visiting here since I am from out of town, but now it is definitely a family favorite! We will continue to visit here for some of their home made pasta & little Italy experience!!
Excellent service, meal, wine, and price.
This is our favorite place in Little Italy!
Sabatinos is a great little restaurant in little Italy. Always great food and service. Nice quiet place away from the hustle of inner harbor.
The food was average. Felt rushed the entire dinner by the waitresses.
From the moment we arrived we experienced a very welcoming atmosphere. Our waitress was helpful and attentive as well as all the staff. Food arrived quickly and still hot. It was a wonderful homemade tasting meal.
I cannot overstress how much I enjoyed my meal. We we're warmly greeted, and escorted immediately to our table. Our server appeared instantly, and took wonderful care of us without being obtrusive. The house wines were wonderful, and generous in quantity. The food was fantastic, I would happily reorder the same dish again!
The service was quick and friendly. Food was tasty and served piping hot. The bread was fresh but uninteresting.
Such a sweet little place! Super friendly as soon as you walk in, felt like I was being greeted by my Italian family! Food great, wine great. When we made the reservation, we noted it was for our anniversary and they even surprised us with a little anniversary dessert. Little things like that go a long way!
Windows curtains need to be washed or changed on the street side of Restaurant Dining room on the right
Service was good. The food left a lot to be desired. The fettuccine was over cooked and the sauce weak. The veal picata was flavorful but tough
