We were told they have the best grilled artichokes on the world and they were not kidding. All the food was great, big portions so hubby and I were able to share a filet mignon and a lobster tail. Great dinner!

Pricey given the ambiance. Not an extraordinary experience. Lucky's is the same menu pricing with far superior service and atmosphere. The food presented was very good with regard to taste, but otherwise meh.

We just love the HP ! I had the rib eye and wife had the filet and both were delicious! Loaded baked potato, garlic bread, veggie starter is all really good. Love to watch the open flame grill and the chefs working on the meats, just an over all great experience and much more casual than the traditional “steak house” atmosphere.

We’ve been going to the Hitching Post Casmalia for many years and decided to try this one. We sat on the “patio” which is really just a big tent with a bunch of tables. Felt like we were eating in a parking lot. My lobster was undercooked and had to be put back on the grill. Sad they don’t have the veggie kebabs or aluminum ice cream like the other Hitching Post. The food was “ok” but overpriced. I think we will stick with the other Hitching Post in Casmalia. The food, service, ambiance and everything is much better.

Went here because of the large amount of good reviews that it got… was pretty disappointed. The filets were cooked well, but had zero flavor at all. Chowder was decent. I got the roasted garlic mainly for the steak, but it came with crostinis… probably just a me thing, but I think that it would taste significantly better on regular bread. Unsure what the “vegetable” plate was in the beginning- literally just celery, tomatoes, pepperoncini, and olives. Atmosphere reminded me of a Cracker Barrel… all in all, it was edible, but definitely not worth the price. Zero complaints about the service, however!

We enjoyed the filet and grilled artichoke. Nice that your meal comes with a relish tray, garlic bread, salad and potato. Steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly! Probably one of the better restaurants in the area.

We decided to be brave and go out on Valentine's Day! We arrived early and asked to be seated in the bar which is always tough, but the hostess staff made it work! We were very happy. We sat at the wall table and our server/bartender, Salvador, took great care of us. The appetizer, grilled artichoke, was outstanding & we really liked the dipping sauce. The dinner salads were generous and fresh! Our steaks were all cooked perfectly & had the fabulous seasoning and char just right. The wine list is A+ (GREAT selection & reasonable prices) and we shared two bottles for our table of 4. We wish we could have had more, but being responsible, we didn't! As always, we left full and very pleased with our evening.

Third time at hitching post II after a day of wine tasting. Consistent with the other times. Good food with no frills. Service was amazing. Steaks were tasty and perfectly prepared. Baked potatoes ok and salad was fine but you get it with the steak and not extra so there’s that. They have a full bar besides wine which is welcomed after drinking wine all day. Good times and a good meal for a chilled back day at moderate price. Decor hasn’t changed since last two times which is part of the charm. Like grandma house. Didn’t order dessert since we were full.

Although we visit a few times a year it was a Friends 80th Birthday and first visit to the Hitching Post. Seated right away. Great server “Kelly”. We were not rushed, but didn’t have to wait. Perfect! Food as usual was excellent. Burgers, steaks and ribs were ordered and everyone enjoyed, plus we all took full advantage of the desert menu. Diet starts tomorrow!

Our goal is to always eat here when we are visiting the area. It’s a tradition and so far its still the same as when we started coming here 23 years ago. Excellent in every way. I love the filet mignon. Cooked perfectly. The personal touches, cloth table clothes, and napkins, relish/veggie tray and great drinks make it special.

We don’t eat meat often so when we do, we want to make it count. This might be the best ribeye steak we’ve had in a looooong time, if not ever. Well worth every penny. The restaurant it old and well worn but cozy. A must while in Solvang.

Haven’t been able to travel to Buellton due to winter storms. Restaurant Week was a perfect excuse to go to Hitching Post 2. They have a great list of wine and dinner specials to celebrate the week. Bottles of their wines as low as $30. Same for full dinners including dessert. I had the filet at $45 cooked perfect medium rare and key lime pie dessert. My husband had the sirloin which was tender and flavorful with the bread pudding. Everything was tasty and the staff is friendly and helpful. Our server even let us know about a case of special wines at an incredible price that we picked up on the way out.

The service from the beginning at check-in was excellent, the wait time was only 5 minutes, and our waiter was attentive and told us the special of the day, our food came fast and we were checked upon. My family and I were very satisfied overall.
