   Lovely spot - a hidden gem on the water in Staten Island. We were biking along the water and came across this spot. The food was good, the view spectacular, and the service was perfect. The only drawback was the loud (ish) music.

   I had the ribeye steak and it was perfect. All of the food was very tasty and presented very nicely. Will definitely be back.

   The food was good but not great, with large portions. The service was OK but a little slow (it wasn't crowded). The music was much too loud. Nice view of the boardwalk, beach, and ocean.

   I went on a Wednesday night so it was pretty quiet and not to crowded. The waiter was excellent, he was very attentive, informative and very polite. The food was excellent and I’ll definitely be dining here again.

   This place has improved. The food and service was great. The only place on Staten Island thats on the beach. Need another beach restaurant

    FOOD was great. SERVERS were great. Table was dirty; my shirt got soiled and arm caught sticky stuff; servers came and cleaned up while i had my food. It was Salsa night (which played only 30% of time); BUT people on top of each other on the dance floor; one old lady "bitched" at us for trying to sit on a chair that she left from; no one, absolutely no one wearing masks (Staten Island has the highest COVID cases in the city due to unvaccinated persons.

    We went for the Fourth of July. They were completely understaffed. The menu was very limited and what did have on the menu was sold out! My mother did not like what was actually available on the menu and they had nothing to accommodate her with. Unfortunately, she did not even have an entree. To make the evening even worse we were informed that the chef quit and we had to wait for another cook to arrive. It was the very worst dining experience of my life. The waiter was a very nice man who worked very hard at trying to do his job for a resturant that could obviously care less about its workers along with its patrons.I would never return to this establishment.

    Have been to South Fin in the past. This time felt the menu was limited and food was not as good. My Bronzino had many bones.

    We celebrated a surprise birthday dinner at South Fin and it was fantastic! The service was top notch and the food/drinks were delicous. We highly recommend South Fin!

    Always liked this restaurant and sitting outdoors. Glad to see it has reopened. Had salads and burgers and they were delicious. Waiting to see what else they add to their menu.

    I was very disappointed this time. I had been to the restaurant numerous times pre-COVID...the food, service & ambiance were outstanding. Yesterday,the food choices were limited. I requested a waterfront restaurant which did not happen as the restaurant was catering a private party and the noise level was overpowering given the DJ on the outside deck. If you choose to stay for the music and dancing after dinner, there is a cover charge fee which is not waived if you eat at the restaurant. I won't be returning any time soon

    It might have been a pleasant meal but after I had reserved online, and battled my way through the nor’easter to get to the door, to my dismay and great annoyance, the restaurant was dark and locked.

    We went for brunch on a Sunday morning. We arrived at 12:15 and the place was completely deserted. They were open though and we were seated promptly. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The food was good, a bit pricey though. It just felt like we were in a deserted restaurant. Very surprised for a Sunday morning.

    Service was extremely slow, the restaurant was humid and the music was loud enough to disrupt the flow of conversation during a business dinner. There was also not a private space available for the number of people in our party. The instructions to have appetizers served to the whole table was also not followed and guests needed to order their own which was a waste because some options were not portioned individually. I don’t recommend for a quiet business dinner for anyone party under 30 people.

    Absolutely the worst meal imaginable. We ordered a seafood tower for $95.00 which was supposed to have fresh jumbo shrimp as well as fresh snapper ceviche in addition to clams, oysters, etc. What we were served were tiny frozen shrimps, being passed off as jumbo shrimps. The ceviche was soggy and not fresh. When confronted about the shrimps the waitress said "Oh, we ran out of shrimp!" Their solution was to give us 6 more tiny frozen shrimp. I had to return my main dish of "fresh" red snapper" ; it wAs awful and overcooked. I must note that the lobster bisque was good. The bathrooms were filthy and the music was blasting with music that was inappropriate for a dining atmosphere. We could not hear ourselves speak and asked for it to be lowered 3 times. Sadly, although the manager "Iman" was on the property, at no time did he come over and address the inferior food and no adjustment was offered on our bill. STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT - THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT DOING THE RIGHT THING BY THEIR DISSATIFIED CUSTOMERS.

    South Fin Grill is a great place to spend a summer evening. It is right on the beach, and the view is lovely. It is a little pricey, however. Parking is ample.

    Outdoor dining is nice. Food was marginal and expensive. Steak and eggs consisted of 4 like cube pieces of steak - steak overdone and eggs over hard although easy was requested. Drink was spilled on my pants. Not intentional but really annoying nonetheless.

    We celebrated a birthday outside on the boardwalk patio, 16 of us. They arranged a prefixe meal which makes sense for group this size. The descriptions of the dishes were better than delivered. For appetizers we had family style of each. We had shrimp cocktail, which was just as expected, not a let down but it’s a basic dish. The crispy calamari was good, the choice of 2 dipping sauces was a pleasant offering, the Asian sweet sauce was best. Then there was the burrata over arugula salad. The burrata was a bit tough on the outside and the salad had no dressing, a drizzle of EVOO was all you could see or taste. Also, there was no seasoning, a little salt and cracked pepper would have gone a long way. Last appetizer were the chicken lollipops, glorified chicken wings. I am not a meat eater but was told they were ok. They lingered on the plate so it didn’t appear people were clamoring for them. For entrees, the filet mignon was the biggest hit although it was described with a peppercorn crust which did not appear on any of the servings. I had the olive oil poached cod, it was unevenly cooked, very salty and the faro it was served with bland. I squeezed my lemon garnish on everything to add zest. The shrimp over pappardelle was tasty, the sauce was well flavored and the shrimp cooked just right. I did not get feedback on the salmon or lobster Mac entrees. Their dessert menu is limited. Few had the brownie skillet and said it was rich and delicious. Others had the sorbet, was told it was more sweet than refreshing. As for service, we had to request appetizers that were missing from the table and the last one came out just before entrees. Serving the filet mignon was disorganized, they didn’t know who ordered which degree of cooking (I.e. well, medium). Drinks took awhile to arrive the first time and when reordered. Coffee with dessert, was also a mishap. A few people were forgotten and didn’t get their coffee until dessert was almost done. The staff was friendly though.

    Food was BEAUTIFULLY presented but it was unseasoned and took a very long time. We were rushed and the location was very noisy. Drinks were too sweet and crowd was VERY drunk and noisy. Will not return.

    I was a little disappointed in the menu options at South Fin Grill. For what I would consider a seafood restaurant, I was not impressed with the menu at all. What was more disappointing, is that there were no specials. I had a salad and the poached cod. Food was good, but not outstanding. View was nice, waiter was attentive. I would probably try one more time, but if I have the same experience, not sure I will be back. Lots of other restaurants to choose from on Staten Island that have better food and selection.

    I’d recommend but not for food especially not brunch , just for drinks . Service was poor but not because my waitress had a bad attitude or wasn’t trying her best , there simply were to many tables for one person and food took forever. The food was not good at all , I don’t know how you make bacon taste bad but they did. Brunch was horrible

    The waitress didn’t allow us time to talk at leisure; I felt extremely rushed by all the staff. The entree was brought out way before we were near finishing our appetizer. I felt the staff was rushing us out even though there were an ample amount of tables available for other guests. And the air conditioning was on so high I was shivering.
