One of the best original French cuisine I've ever had. I highly recommend this location for any foodie who wishes to experience French made unique.
The location is small but the decor feels thoughtful and intentionally makes the best use of the space. I would recommend making reservations for potential busy times like a weekend or Friday night because seating is limited! That said, I can appreciate that there wasn't an attempt to pack in more tables than necessary into the small dining area, it lends a much more cozy and intimate experience, especially with the attentive serving staff.
The tasting menu exceeded our expectations with its well-executed classics-with-a-twist and their signature negroni is a must-have!
Waiter was very attentive. Food was delicious and not too rich and heavy like typical French cuisine.
Wonderful service and fantastic french cuisine, from classic dishes confit de canard to oysters.
The duck tartare was delicious.
Would highly recommend La Notre to anyone who appreciates a quality food and wine
Cozy little spot! Service was excellent as was the food. Will definitely be back and recommend to friends looking for a great dining experience.
Food and service were both wonderful. Look forward to returning soon
We really enjoyed our evening at Le Notre Bistro! Very cozy environment, personal and attentive service, delicious food and great wine. Will definitely come back.
Amazing ambience with delectable cuisine! My wife and I went to Le Notre Bistro for our 1 year anniversary and we were treated to old fashioned hospitality in a modern setting. It was incredible. The food was an explosion of taste, every bite exciting our tastebuds. One course after the other delighted us. Staff were incredibly friendly. The neighbourhood is quiet and easily accessible. I highly recommend Le Notre Bistro to anyone looking for European excellence in the heart of Toronto.
The food, as always, was great. The front of the house attention to details and care of guests is absolutely wonderful.
This restaurant is a gem in the neighborhood you wouldn't expect such a fine dining place. Ambiance is cozy, with 5-6 tables only, food is fantastic and service was the best you can get anywhere. owner was serving us with explanations on all meals in detail. We decided to go with 4 course menus (a combination of 2 appetizers, main course and desert) plus wine matching. Decision on what to have was based on our preferences and owner's recommendations and everything was so delicious: escargots, French onion soup, oysters, beef tartar, white fish filet, pork cutlets, oxtail with home made pasta, Creme Brulee, chocolate cake and tarte tatin. Matching wines were all very nice and tasty.
We are coming back again definitely.
Very ordinary good. Overpriced. We came at 6pm and were rushed to leave at 8:30
Had the best time there! Great food and ambiance! Service was impeccable as well!
Sergei attended tour group of 4 with great warmth, kindness and attention to dietary requests. The food was extraordinary!
All around wonderful dining experience. Excellent service, food and ambience
The food is french only by the name . Very disappointed by the quality of the food . Very ordinary international food.
Only 10 clients in the restaurant and not enough Tarte Tatin to try it!!!
This is a bad copy of French cuisine.
My last visit.
The tasting menu was exceptional. Great service and wine list.
Le Notre met all my expectations and I had many given the positive reviews I had read. In addition I was dining with a friend who was visiting from out of country. She has lived in Paris, is a great cook and a bit of a ‘foodie’ - she was thoroughly impressed!
Charming little French restaurant that is off the beaten track. Only accommodates 20 or so people, so make reservations.
Le Notre Bistro is a difficult restaurant to review. The menu is creative. I loved my meal of Escargot and Rissoto. I did not feel that there were enough options to bring me back on a regular basis. I completely understand that small curated menus allow for great quality and allow much less waste. I would like to see perhaps one or two more substantial classic items which would bring me back.
Tasting menu was awesome!
Excellent food, ambiance and service.
Not cheap but worth every penny.
Service was superb. Appetizers were traditional French as expected and were excellent. Main courses (namely wild rice risotto and gnocchi) were unexpectedly on the rustic side and we didn’t love them. The wine pours are very small, 2 glasses felt like a generous portion from other restaurants at similar price point. But overall a positive experience for an anniversary dinner!
Enjoyed every dish, loved the wine as well. Overall had a lovely evening
As always an excellent dinner. Great food and service. A wonderful anniversary dinner!
Would have appreciated the option to order a la carte. The current restaurant's website was not clear that opting out of the "summerlicious" menu is not possible.
Nice dinner, wonderful atmosphere and service. Pricey though. I would go for special occasions.
We went to Le Notre Bistro for our 9-year anniversary and everything was perfect. The service was delightful and the food delicious. We will definitely come back again! Mille mercis
We came here for Bastille Day, and we were overwhelmed with the excellent traditional fare with a sensitive nod to moderne couture, the excellent service, the wine recommendation, and overall experience. A foodie high recommendation.
The food was excellent, and our server took the time to explain the ingredients and flavour profiles of each dish, which we appreciated. However, there was more pomp and circumstance than we would have liked, i.e. pulling out chairs for us, suit and tie maitre d', etc. I think if the vibe were a little more casual we would be more enticed to return. They could certainly rest on the laurels of their well-made dishes.
Such a cute restaurant. The owner was charming and the food was delicious! Best escargot I’ve ever had!
Came here for Summerlicious. A little gem in the neighborhood. Food was delicious and service was great. Will come back again.
The food was very good. I can't say totally incredible but it was summerlicious and I find sometimes that the limitations pricewise mean you don't see the absolute best a kitchen can do. Very good is still good. I just think they can do even better. The salmon tartar was vet fresh tasting literally and figuratively. The salmon was not fishy tasting and the chocolate dessert was yum. The service was excellent and the place is quite adorable. Great place for a date or to catch up with an old friend.
Un restaurant remarquable. C'est la première fois que j'y suis allé et j'ai été séduit. Service impeccable, repas excellent et possibilités pour le client d'avoir un plat composé suivant ses besoins alimentaires.
We enjoyed an excellent meal, and delightful ambience.
I found the restaurant on the Trip advisory and it was everything I expected and more. Sergei (the owner) was fantastic with explanations about wines and all meals that were part of the Tasting Menu. We ordered pairing wine with it and we tried many good ones that evening. My personal favourite was risotto but every single one was great. I had a felling I was in Lyon or Cannes in one of Michellin Star restaurants. I will go back for sure and I see it is part of the Summerlicious Toronto, so visit for sure!
<3 always the best time - thanks again!!!

Enjoyed that the waiter/tress were very well informed and provided their recommendations. Compliments to the chef.
The meal was fantastic. We shared steak tartare, escargots, followed by steak frites and confit de canard. First course was with a glass of Sancerre followed by a bottle of French red wine. All was delicious, we will be back.
Excellent Value in an Intimate Setting
We were a party of 4 and this was our first time dining at Le Notre. From the moment we walked into the restaurant we knew that it would be a wonderful dining experience. The restaurant only seats 20 so it is an intimate dining experience. We all decided to have the 4-course tasting menu. They will prepare it based on your preferences, but we decided to let them choose for us. The 4-course tasting menu without wine pairings is $55 and with wine pairings is $90. They also have a 3-course Prix Fixe Menu for $38. The quality of the food and service were superb. The cuisine is creative and delicious and is served by professional and attentive staff. I had asked if we could reserve a table in a quiet location since we were celebrating a birthday and they had reserved the perfect table for us. Our servers were fantastic also - their attentive service and helpful suggestions made for an enjoyable dining experience. They helped to make this a birthday to remember.
The restaurant is beautiful and cozy. The food was absolutely delicious and the waiter was so nice! I would definitely come back and recommend this place!
