   Menton menu features lots of unique and luxurious foods. Overall, the service was excellent, but the food was mediocre. Many of the flavors were unappetizing, and the combination of sauces were icky. Given the expensive price, we expected a better execution culinary experience. For dessert we ordered the soufflé and it was chewy and overly sweet. It was a nice experience, as you can not find this level of multi-course meal in Boston, but it was not worth the price given the taste and execution of the food.

   The tasting menu felt rushed - we had to ask them to slow it down. And the wine pairings were mistimed and a few times came out after we had finished eating the course they were paired with. The food was good but not exceptional. For the price, not blown away.

   This was the most overpriced meal I've ever eaten. Food was good but variable (some dishes better than others, some delicious, some just okay, and nothing bad), but there was essentially no way to eat there without spending hundreds of dollars, because there are ONLY prix fixe options for dining. We went there because of a gift certificate that ultimately paid for about one third of the meal - the costliest gift I've ever received! Clearly this place is only for extremely wealthy people who just enjoy trying different restaurants, so ultimately we were just out of place. The best part was the service - everyone was very nice.

   Place is nice and elegant. Attention is excellent. However, too expensive for the value received. Time between dishes was too long. Taste was as any other restaurant. Portions were too small. I will not come back. Better places for less money.

   Just moved to Seaport and found this gem. Great food, both taste and presentation very well done. I like the flexibility of adding courses from the prix fixe if you don’t want to do a full tasting menu. Service was phenomenal with great attention to details. The chocolate writing “welcome to the neighborhood” with our desert was the icing on the cake. I will return often since we live so close now!

   It was a wonderful experience to try the food at Menton. The food quality, taste and presentation were amazing! Very skilled chefs in the kitchen. The roasted cod cheek was out of this world! The chef sent us pasta with black truffle shavings on and it was a joy to eat. Our servers were pleasant and very attentive. We will be back again.

    Except for tow plates the Food was not really delicious or exciting. Disappointing overall. Furthermore, the plates arrived with so much time in between, it ended up being a 3+ hour experience for only 8 or 9 small plates - do the math - we were bored and by the seventh dish we just wanted it just to end so we could go home. Servers were respectful, professional and outstanding Ambience met the expectation. Drinks were really good. Had dined there a few years ago and had a great memory, but not likely to recommend.

    Simply The Best....as Tina says !!! That pasta with the shaved truffles might be one of the best things I've ever tasted. The scallops were pretty amazing as well. And the BREAD...each roll more flavorful than the next. From that first splash of bubbles to our bite of chocolate, everything in between was magical. Chef Phillippe and the whole kitchen and floor staff----KUDOS. And John George....the BEST food ambassador in the city. So fun, So comfortable, So yummy. Thank You.

    What a treat! The food was delicious and beautifully plated. The staff was extremely accommodating - my husband wanted to do some items from the Prix Fixe menu and some from the Chef's Tasing menu, which was not a problem. Our waiter, Evan, also did a wine pairing for my husband, which he enjoyed immensely. The Wagyu beef, the Fall squashes, the Mangalitsa pork, the Pheasant and of course, the chocolate souffle were prepared perfectly with so many interesting flavors. The service was excellent, especially Evan. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient.

    The wine flight was the only good thing Despite the self perception of a high end French restaurant, the food tasting was horrendous. Honestly the food was bland or overly salted. There are much better French options in Boston.

    We were delighted to have discovered Menton. Upon our arrival we were impressed by the tasteful interior design and the friendliness of the staff. We had an attentive, elegant waiter who was knowledgeable about the menu and the wines. Everything John recommended was perfect. We decided to go with the chef's menu. Every plate was wonderful. We had an incredible evening and we feel very comfortable recommending the restaurant.

    A very unfortunate experience at this restaurant. The food was simply badly executed, meat undercooked (way below medium/medium rare which we ordered), including the pork, which is dangerous, wagyu beef was not a wagyu cut, the dishes were too salty, and flavors simply not there overall. Even the bread rolls reminded us of airplane quality. In addition, there was a big delay in service to begin with, but also between dishes and throughout the evening. While staff was polite and courteous they could not make up for the bad food. Certainly not a fine dining experience or even close to one. It simply was a bad dining experience, regardless of price which is unfortunately the only aspect that imitates fine dining.

    When booked via OpenTable it did not show it was a special menu and a different price. So we were surprised. We enjoyed 3 of the 6 courses. In comparison to our previous visits, we were disappointed. The food and waiter were outstanding in our previous visits. Our waiter only came over twice and only asked about drinks. We saw other waitstaff checking in with their tables frequently.

    Fun experience BUT they obscure the taste of food. Scallop tasted only of persimmons. Taste of sea urchin totally obscured by strong white pudding concoction, The wine pairing was just bad.     Our food was underwhelming. A few things stood out but mostly I found the waygu to be chewy and lacking in flavor. My partner complained his was cold. The truffles were flavorless and shouldn’t have been offered in the pre-fixe. We generally enjoy our food most when it’s worth the price. It’s far better to walk away thinking that the meal deserved more than the bill rather than less. I think there’s potential but the execution needs to improve. The service and staff are exceptional. The food should keep pace with the same standard otherwise the takeaway is that a return visit is not worth the time or money. We come every year because one of our first dates was here, but we don’t anticipate coming back for a while because the food did not compare to other restaurants we’ve been to recently like La Fina in Andover and Ocean in Kennebunk where the food did match the standard of service and price. Menton still holds a special place in our memories but we would like to see the food improve to a quality that was there before the pre-fixe and tasting only options. There was less disappointment before when we could choose our own course options more openly.

    I and my wife visited there for our anniversary. It was so nice that all of the staffs said 'Happy anniversary' to us. We really felt welcoming. Our server was very professional and friendly. She offered us complimentary a glass of champaign for our anniversary. We really appreciated it. We felt like everyone was taking good care of us while we were having meal. It took us 2 hours to have the course meal. So worthy and made our anniversary extra special! The service was excellent! Thank you!

    Our a party of four had a grand time. I must say the service outshined the food. And the food is pretty damn good. Our waiter James was an instant friend and guide for the night. The food, and we ordered extras from the chefs tasting menu and the duck was a veritable banquet. A few of us change seats at the beginning of the mail and of course the wait staff was confused about where to place the plates. Discontinued all night long and became a fun little game that added to our festivities. This One we will savor for quite a while!
