The restaurant is famous for verity of kebabs and refreshing salads and gently spiced grilled meats. Excellent food and service. The friendly managers and wait staff walk around to make sure all diners are having a nice time and to see if they need anything. The saffron grilled shrimp, the vegetarian stew, and the yogurt with shallots were delicious, as was the rice pudding. Would dine here again in a heartbeat.

Superb help and friendly service. Excellent aromatic appetizers and entrees. Like almost all NYC restaurants, somewhat noisy, making quiet, intimate conversations a bit more difficult. But given the modest pricing, it’s understandable that they need to accommodate the crowds seeking tables. Highly recommended.

Ate last night with another couple at Persepolis. The food was just delicious. The warm eggplant and hummus appetizers were yummy with the big bread basket of warm pita and sesame seed bread. The juicy chicken breast kebob with your choice of sides was a huge portion served with a mild green sauce, grilled tomato and red cabbage with choice of different sides of rice or salads. The service was top notch with server and owner checking on our satisfaction. Looking forward to returning there soon.

Dishes are consistently well prepared and offer a nice variety of seafood, lamb and stews -- all with tasty choices of rice accompaniments. The Baba appetizer is a favorite. Reasonable choices of house wines. The service is attentive and very efficient.

Christmas Dinner was disappointing. Mojitos did not have pomegranate or mango juice as advertised. The lamb was old and the filet mignon kabob was old meat as well both tough and stringy. The food was served on the colder side and the hummus was tasteless. Although it is easy to get a reservation at the restaurant I recommend to steer away, there is a reason why it empty.

We were very disappointed with what we had hoped would be a special Christmas Eve dinner as a prelude to a music church service. Unfortunately, despite our having made a reservation two or three days earlier, providing both cell phone and email, the restaurant neglected to let us know it would be closing the kitchen at the exact time of our reservation. So, not able to start looking for another option at that point, we ordered a spicy eggplant appetizer (not very tasty), branzino (dry and tough, though with a good sauce), grilled shrimp (sparse but with a good sauce). My husband liked his rice with dill; I found my basmati rice with sour cherries not up to the reviews I’d read. The wine was fine; we would have ordered a bottle if the restaurant had honored the hours stipulated when we made the reservation. We might also have had dessert and coffee if they hadn’t rushed us along. The entrees arrived when we were halfway through the appetizer. Our server left shortly thereafter. We will not be back.

We were a group of five friends, first time we have dined here as a group. Food was good (Greek salad was a bit different from anything we’d seen before). Pretty place. Only complaint was that the waiter took the orders of the first 2 people in our group but when he got to the rest of us we were still deciding what to order. We couldn’t believe that the waiter disappeared, rather than waiting for us to order, and the next thing we knew they were bringing the salads and falafels for our friends before we had ordered our choices. Our friends had to start eating before we could even order and get served. Who ever heard of such a thing??? They also never came around to bring us more water once our food came. Loved the food but really annoyed at the service.

Food preparation is consistently fine and the service is attentive and efficient. Delicious large grilled shrimp and bronzino --- both served with cherry rice, a signature dish to accompany main courses. Also a delicious Persian style rice pudding to round out the meal.

Persepolis was ideal for my aunt's birthday lunch on a Sunday. Service was friendly and prompt. And the grape leaves and beef and vegetable stews we had were delicious. The ambience was quiet and the tables spread out so we could enjoy our conversation. To top it off, the prices are reasonable.

I have been coming to Persopilis for years. I found my lamb kabob very dry for some reason. Unusual! The service was wonderful. Hopefully next time a better experience. My guests enjoyed their meals.
