Just a very blah place. Location is nice, but that's really the only positive thing to say.
Great place for brunch
We had dinner sitting outside and it was a terrific night for people watching and casual fare. Our waiter immediately came to the table and was attentive. We were served delicious, freshly baked rolls and butter while we waited for cocktails. Each of us ordered entrees but other sandwiches that were being served nearby looked yummy too. Ample portions and overall, a fun meal out downtown.
A great place to sit outdoors! The food is always good but the service is always super slow!
Food is very good but service is lacking. Servers all seem bothered to be working and very unwelcoming. The environment is nice and the food is good but overall their operations seem unorganized and chaotic.
Food was ok, but not great. Service was slow and spotty. Our server should have checked back with us more. Was nice to enjoy having brunch outdoors with a breeze. Got a little toasty at one point and fans weren’t on. Table next to us turned it on and directed it only at them. :( average dining experience with nice ambience.
Birthday lamb quality excellent. However I would have preferred more seasoning
My daughter and I arrived separately for our reservation for two. I was seated immediately, when my daughter arrived she was told I wasn’t there. I was disappointed.
Food was acceptable, but expensive and not great.
Service left something to be desired.
Advertised valet parking was not available.
The hostess on Sunday night was inattentive and unprofessional. It was like we had to arouse her to get her attention. Even worse, a manager was present and allowed her to stand and sleep.
Even though the restaurant was not very crowded, it took an enormously long time to get our food. The prime rib special was over cooked as if someone tried to brown it after it was carved from the roast. It was also way overpriced for the portion. Potatoes and fries were cold.
The rest of the meals were simply mediocre. We will not return.
Pretty good food, everytime we go the service seems to take way longer than it should.
Service was not great, very slow, getting food and drinks. Will try again for dinner. Food was good or I would not return otherwise.
Everything was fantastic.
We started with the tuna tartare it was spectacular, I can’t stop thinking about it. The habanero aioli was mind blowingly good. We then split the mixed berry salad with the duck confit. Another good move it was very good. We wrapped up with the nightly steak special. There was a butternut squash purée under the veggies and a merlot butter and reduction on the steak. It was fabulous, will be back!
We did brunch for our anniversary, everything was perfect. We sat outside, food and service were great
We had made a reservation for outdoor seating and upon arrival we were seated at a table directly in the sun. We saw several tables in the shade and asked if we could sit there instead. We were told no that someone had specifically reserved those tables which obviously isn’t an actual option. We decided to take our business elsewhere as the staff seemed unwilling to try and find a better solution for us
Excellent food and service was outstanding. Went for a birthday celebration and my dinner was free. Just show your ID (must be on your birthday) and the price of your meal is fully deducted from your check. Will be back again...and not just for birthdays!
Consistency with the food itself is the key to Cassis - selection is always good.
Order the Bouillabaisse if you like seafood. The broth was amazing and the portion is perfect. Decent happy hour too. Enjoyed and will go back.
What a fun place to go with friends or a couple. We had 4 people in our party and spent 2 hours there enjoying the food and the wine. The Salmon was fabulous and also the lamb chops. The salads are perfect. Our service was great and we all had wonderful desserts. A great place to have dinner. The bakery next door is amazing as well.
It was fantastic.
Lovely lunch celebrating a good friend’s birthday. Attentive, friendly staff. Quality food. Looking forward to returning soon!
Another trip to stpete to enjoy brunch with local friends. Cassis is always a fine choice for such an occasion and well worth the trek from the Sarasota/Bradenton area of Florida.
Wonderful experience. Food was great. Prices reasonable. Portion size fair. My wife and I couldn't pick a favorite. Which is rare. I had the duck and she had the lamb chops. We'll go again.
The staff are always friendly and helpful. They do their utmost to be accommodating. Breakfast, lunch and brunch are very good. I haven't been satisfied with their dinner offerings. I would recommend reservations for breakfast and brunch. The French onion soup is quite good. The bakery items are also fresh and exceptionally good.
Outstanding service with Mario, and his knowledge of the menu and drinks was excellent. Our guests from Orlando thought highly of this restaurant!
I was here for brunch this time. It was crowded when I arrived. I had a bloody Mary which was very good but the celery was a bit much. I ordered the quiche Lorraine and a bowl of fruit. They were both quite good. I will definitely be back for brunch.
We love cassis for breakfast so we thought we would try dinner. It’s not really a steak place not a seafood place. So neither were great. Maybe the fried chicken is more their thing, I don’t know. We love the ambiance of Cassis for sure and service is great! However, I’ll stick to only breakfast here in the future.
Food for party of 12 was over cooked and over priced. Host mgr. at front door wasn’t very customer facing friendly. Drink prices at the sit down bar do not match the cost for a drink when sitting at a dinning table. (+$5-$6) for the exact same drink is not acceptable
Pleasant American French cuisine in an upbeat, fun part of St. Pete. Beef bourguignon was good (though perhaps not the best idea on a hot, humid day in FL), and the macaroons were delightful.
The best thing about this restaurant is their bakery. Service was good. However the brunch on trays of omelettes and quiche were fairly average.
We had a wonderful birthday celebration with some delicious pastries. There was a good choice of wines and beer. The bouillabaisse was excellent and so were the snails done in a burgundy sauce. The staff was
attentive, very cordial, and knowledgeable. Cassis has a charming French style ambiance.
Food was under typical standard for value of food cost.
Took my mother for a 70th birthday brunch. Everything was PERFECT. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.
It was ok. The drinks were great, the server Zoey was so sweet and attentive the food was ok. The location and the ambience is the reason to go
We can here for bfast to bypass our last day at The Vinnoy, what a find! Best salmon benedict I've had in a very long time! My wife loved the blueberry pancakes as well! Great mimosas! Just a great meal!
The service is terrible. They are not friendly, they are slow. The brought out our meal in stages so that by the time my husband got his food, my daughter and I were nearly done. The food is great but we won’t be going back as this is the third negative experience we have had.
A really tasteful and fully enjoyable place. Food and service were both outstanding. Now if there was just something they do about the Red Socks fans...
We had lunch at Cassis a few months ago and had a great experience. Food was great and good service as well. We decided to go back for dinner to celebrate my husbands birthday and brought another couple who had never been with us. Now we do not live close by - it is a 40 minute drive but we were ok with that because we had enjoyed our lunch so much. That particular night we had horrible rain storms but still made the drive. Took us almost and hour to get there. We were seated promptly. It was not very crowded probably because of the weather. Our server was pretty good at the beginning of the night. Had some nice drinks to start. We ordered our dinners and they did come out within a reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately one of our guests ordered the mussels as her meal. Over half of them were missing the actual mussels. We mentioned it to the server. A bit later the manager came over and we told him as well. He said he would go check with the chef. We never saw him again. I had the salmon served over ravioli - did not realize it was served with a pretty heavy cream sauce which I really can't have. We had to wait for long periods of time for our server to come back and check on us and also took a long time to get our check. When we go the check at first they charged us for a complimentary birthday dessert but did notice it and took it off. When we had left the restaurant and we were standing on the sidewalk waiting for the valet to bring the car thats when the manager came out to ask about our dinner (not sure if he remembered he had come to our table earlier) we told him again about the mussels and also how we had ordered some extra chips for our guacamole appetizer and were actually charged for the extra chips (which is fine but they should at least tell you - we didn't want to wast the all the delicious guacamole. Probably will not be going back.
Really never disappoints. Food is predictable, service is reliable. Best outdoors but indoor noise tolerable. It’s a little pricey.
