We very much enjoyed dinner experience and chose this restaurant for dinner in anticipation of the Indian flute and classical guitar. All a treat!
Excellent Elk and steak. We very much enjoyed the food.
My "Elk" special was great! About 6 ounces of tenderloin; $35. My wife's Venison was quite good, but only about 3 ounces; $32. Seemed like a lot for a little.
I would recommend the restaurant but only after inquiring about serving size when ordering. (the Venison was more of an appetizer with a lot of vegetables)
Great after a long day of travel. We ate there twice!
Awesome atmosphere and food and drinks and service. Highly recommended!
We came here for drinks and dinner. The service was horrible - we were one of the only couples in the restaurant but had to ask multiple times for drinks, water, for our food to be ordered, etc. Drinks and food ended up being tasty but the service was not good.
The lamb chops were spectacular. Lovely ambiance, great food and great service.
The food was great and the service outstanding. Sitting on the patio in the cool afternoon was a great find.
Really enjoyed Amaya! My girlfriend ordered the salmon and I ordered the bison; both very good!
I had the best elk dinner ever. It was outstanding. Others at our table also had a memorable dinner. We like the Hotel Santa Fe but I had no memory of such a special hotel restaurant.
We actually stayed at this hotel and were delighted to eat here three nights out of six including cancelling two advance reservations because this was pleasant enough, with enough variety, and really good food so we decided to eat here instead!
First time dining at Amaya Restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by the seating area. It's indoor but surrounded by huge glass windows. One side opens up completely, so you feel like you are outside. There is also a TeePee experience that we will definitely try next! Staff was excellent and super friendly. The lambs chops were delicious.
Relatively limited selection of entrees. Server unable to identify dishes. Had to ask numerous times for condiments. Waited so long for desserts we had to cancel in order to leave for a concert. We had had pleasant dining experiences in prior visits, so we wanted our guests to enjoy as well. That was not the case. It’s not likely we’ll return to Amaya when we’re next in Santa Fe.
Lamp chops were excellent. Duck was just OK. Very nice covered alfresco dining.
We attended the buffet luncheon before a Garden Tour. Such a great idea for this occasion!
Horrible service!! Slow, but worse. The server brought dessert menus never asked a thing. Just set them in front of us. We HADN’T EATTEN DINER YET. Food very slow and when it arrived, was so over cooked it was not edible, the sauce was soldered to the plate. It clearly sat at the pass out for a long time. Manager was humble and addressed the issue. But don’t waste your time. There are many wonderful places to eat in Santa Fe!! Try somewhere else!
Great for dinner. The live flute and guitar music really made the evening
Looking for an authentic musical experience in Santa Fe? Make sure to book for dinner and the house concert with Ronald Roybal on Friday or Saturday nights in Hotel Santa Fe. Ronald is a master of both the Flamenco Guitar and Native American Flute. His two hour concert (7-9) is a feast of music which enhances the experience of great food, good wine and beautiful southwest ambiance. Since first encountering Ronald's music at his Hotel Santa Fe house concert 11 years ago I have made a point of taking friends and business colleagues to dinner there each time I return to Santa Fe from Australia. It never disappoints.
Very reasonable pricing for tasty food with plenty of options. We were pleasantly surprised by a Native American Dance performance on the lawn near our table. We will return for elegant casual dining.
Elegantly presented food, lovely ambiance , and tasty! Expensive but worth it as an occasional treat !
I don't usually do reviews but this restaurant is a perfect spot for meeting old friends and enjoying the beauty of Santa Fe summers. The food was just right, the noise level perfect for conversation, the wait staff excellent and they deserve a great review.
A wonderful meal and great staff who were very accommodating. Chef was wonderful and accommodated 3 pint size appetites
Nice variety on the menu. We all had a great time in a very lovely setting.
Very enjoyable dining experience! Food, service and ambience were all great. Strawberry spinach salad was especially good.
Always good food and service. Full bar is nice. Access to outdoors pleasant.
Very clean and cozy atmosphere. My waitress was attentive to my needs. A little expensive but food was very good. Beautiful presentation.
I ordered the lamb chops from the "medium " plate part of the menu...which was the perfect amount of food for me being a light eater. But even more than that, the lamb chops were absolutely delicious! I was almost surprised how much I enjoyed them. Service was friendly and punctual. And the ambience was nice.
Excellent find. Went to dinner because we wanted to hear the musician and returned for breakfast the next morning.
Nice place. Enjoyed food.
Maria and the team are superb. They are definitely an overdeliver team and worth the visit ten times over.
I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The lamb chops were excellent my wife enjoyed a light salad.
Recently, my wife and I dined at Amaya in the Hotel Santa Fe. Four nights in a row, we tasted our way through Chef Walter Dominguez' seasonal menu: smoked venison, seared duck breast, sea bass and verlasso salmon. Entrees were glazed or sauced to perfection with Southwest veggies. Desserts to die for. Service from the maitre'd Lawrence and our server Sheena was outstanding.
Great atmosphere and delicious meal!
Amaya has a Native American influence to the cuisine. The menu includes medium size plates --between appetizer size and a full course dinner--which make a nice light meal. The lamb chops were delicious. A friend had soup and salad which she enjoyed. The corn muffins were good and were replenished by the server. The server was very accommodating to our group.
Great food but the service was very poor. Though we were comp'd for the delayed drinks and dessert, didn't much care for the significant delay in getting our drinks and missed appetizer. There was confusion all around us with other guests as well!
We made our reservation and started to walk to the restaurant. Our GPS sent us the wrong way. We called the restaurant for directions and they offered to send a car to pick us up. Outstanding! The food was great as well! We definitely recommend Amaya!
We had dinner here recently during Santa Fe Restaurant week. I don't know that we would have chosen it had it not been on the list of participating restaurants. The bar is cozy with a big fireplace. This must be a good business convention hotel because it was packed with people with name tags on. The restaurant has nice decor, but it doesn't feel very intimate. The dining room is large and open, but does look out on a nice patio with a teepee!
Our experience was good. The service was good and friendly. The posole stew was just like home cooking. I had a stuffed poblano and it was good, but not great. Kind of dry. The chicken enchilada my husband had was good, but not outstanding. Overall it was well prices and the food was good but not outstanding. Don't know if we will go back, but enjoyed our meal.
Lawrence and Beth and overall experience was lovely
Seated near a crackling fire, the restaurant atmosphere could not be more perfect!
