   It was an overall OK experience. There were a few fundamentals that were missed … no silverware; orders arriving individually, as opposed to together (literally, all individual courses were served ten minutes apart … always fun to stare at an empty place setting as someone eats across from you!) Drinks and food were tasty, and I’ll leave it at that.

   Awesome service, seated at table requested, ceasar salad exceptional, cheeseburger one of the best in austin, steak perfectly cooked, bass app from raw bar fresh and tasty, dessert doughnuts only disappointment seemed doughy inside and overdone outside Wish they had a few more selections wine by glass but what they do have good, loved the gruner

    Food is fantastic. My favorite is the oyster platter and it’s crazy to think a restaurant in central TX can get fresh and delicious oysters. Had the duck for the first time last night and wonderful. The menu is not cheap, but definitely get your value for special occasions or for a date.

    Service, food and atmosphere were wonderful. What prevented a 5 on value was scallops for $55 seemed high. It deterred from ordering yet the steak and frites were amazing and value good.

    It was horrible. The pics of the place looked very nice online and decided to make a reservation for my husbands bday dinner. First of all the place is super rundown. We got seated at a booth and the seats were super uncomfortable like it they were broken. We got ordered drinks and appetizers and looking at the prices we were all like what?!? So expensive. Anywho my husband ordered oysters and the waitress did not even bother to tell us what oysters were what just dropped them off and took off. We got calamari also and it was gross it smelled like it had done bad and it was so small. Needless to say after those appetizers came we got the check and left. So disappointed with this place the service is horrible and so not friendly. Never coming back, they should totally close this place down.

    The server was adorable and outstanding! The food, however, was not up to par. A very limited menu, so I’m not sure why the few things were so underwhelming. Burger — extremely overdone and dry (is that what the aioli was for?) with a terribly dry and hard bun; side of fries that looked good but tasted “meh”. Steak tartare — sorely lacking in flavor (salt, please). Crab fritters — overdone to the point of introducing bitterness of taste. Cocktails were also just off — bland margaritas with no complexity, and a special Paloma that wasn’t so special. Ambience is nice, but the frequent flashes from police car lights outside distracted from the evening, though I’m sure that can’t be controlled.

    Parkside is an entertaining experience in dining because it’s right in the middle of the sixth street craziness. It’s decent food in a casual but nice space with big windows so you can watch the street drama unfold as you nibble on lump crab meat with a spicy Thai sauce. The staff was very friendly and the service was great.

    Unfortunately I found the food and service underwhelming. The service was subpar. Upon arrival to our table the server did not offer to get us drinks and when we asked on her second visit if we could order drinks and put our food in at the same time, one of our drinks was forgotten all together and the other arrived well after two of our appetizers. We saw three tables sit and leave while we were there because the service was so slow. We thought the menu could use 1-2 more options under most categories. The food was also unbelievably salty. We ordered the calamari to start which was good (but salty) among other apps and I could not believe how overwhelmingly salty the salad was. I would have liked to been able to add a protein option if available. We did end with the little donuts for dessert and the texture, sweet and salty combo of the ice cream were fantastic!!The creativity and quality of this dish seemed to outshine the rest. The pricing of entrees seemed to way exceed what you might expect based on the rest of the menu. Overall, I was not impressed with both food and service. While not usually a dessert lover, if I ever go back it would just be for dessert and a cocktail.

    The food and atmosphere were fantastic -- the Caesar salad was very unique, with orange zest sprinkled on it! Quite tasty! You can enjoy a great conversation because the noise level is not excessive and the booths provide enough of a buffer from other tables that you can enjoy a relatively secluded meal in peace. My only quibble with the Parkside is that the mixed drinks and wine are grossly overpriced. I missed happy hour, so perhaps the pricing then is more reasonable. Nonetheless, a pleasant dining experience!

    Brought friends here that were visiting from out of town. It was ok. I would not bring out of towners again if I am trying to impress them. Steak was overcooked, ceviche had no chips/crackers, martinis were tiny. The oysters were really good and the wine thankfully. I would have also rather been facing 6th Street to people watch and not with my back to the St in a booth. The waitress was new. She was very sweet. However they gave her a $1 store wine opener to open the bottle. Maybe hook your staff up with good openers. The restaurant apparently automatically charges gratuity on 6 or more which is fine. But being charged gratuity on alcohol is not fair with prices ranging. If I order a $40 bottle wine vs $100 bottle I should not be charged more just bc the bottle is more.

    We took advantage of the raw platter and sparkling wine special. Since it was an early dinner before going to a show we then did several small plates that included a fantastic ceviche and crab lettuce wrap. All the seafood was extremely fresh and flavorful. The staff was very nice and helpful and made for a very enjoyable evening out.

    Food was good but not great. The seating all in the bar area is fine if you are looking for a good meal on 6th street that feels like you are in a bar. If you are looking for something a little more upscale I wouldn't reccomend it.

    Happy hour was great. The crab fritters were delicious and the steak tartar was positively outstanding. Bartender was a bit slow at filling orders. Otherwise a perfect experience.

    If they are serving the mushroom tart, order it! It's divine. Our server was a delight: she was attentive and friendly. We' are repeat customers and enjoy our time there. Ask for a seat by the window.

    My friend an I went into Austin for a show, drinks, and bite for the first time since Covid. He suggested Parkside and it was a great choice. They were very accommodating when I called ahead asking if it was wheelchair accessible and how seating was. We had the calamari, I had scallops, and he had a burger. We will be coming back!
