We went tonight to celebrate my birthday, but sadly the weather had other plans. We only got halfway through our meal on the back patio and had to leave due to heavy rain/wind. It seemed too chaotic inside so we decided to leave. I will say the charcuterie board was outstanding, as was our server. We were disappointed we never got to try the Dover Sole or Cowboy Steak that we had ordered… hopefully we will have the opportunity to dine at The Ebbitt Room again if we return to Cape May! Would highly recommend dining here

First visit to the Ebbit Room in many years. Unfortunately we were underwhelmed. The incorrect entree was brought, and based on the wait, it was clear the wrong dish was prepared. When the correct dish did arrive, it was not hot. Although my companions steak was quite good , the potatoes accompanying it were cold. There was little in the way of apology for the entree snafu - and no attempt to make amends from the house with a complimentary dessert or coffee. The deviled eggs were quite good and the chocolate torte dense and in need of additional whipped cream / raspberry to set off the chocolate. A memory best left in the past.

It doesn’t get much better than this ! Exceptional cuisine with service to match in this fine dining icon at The Virginia Hotel. Caviar, Grilled Oysters, Dover Sole and a magnificent Summer Street Corn warm salad. After dinner drinks in the bar with the piano man, Kenneth “Staxx” Richardson tickling the ivory’s. A birthday celebration I will not soon forget !

First off, i booked early and requested a table on the porch for four and they could not accommodate us. They should have called to tell me that. So we were seated outside and it was a warm evening. The space is lovely but uncomfortably warm. It seems possible more fans could be added to make guests more comfortable. Now the food. In general I would say it is not worth the money. Appetizers were absolutely delicious, but entrees were just ok. The trout was the exception but our other three were good but not delicious. We are foodies and have a summer place in cape May. We don’t mind paying and love the Virginia ambiance but the Ebbitt Room is just not worth the price tag. I have had the same experience before there but i want it to be good and keep trying! Unfortunately since i find it the same each time, i am done. It’s too bad. It is just not worth the price tag.

The food was delicious--especially the pasta and crab appetizer!! The sole was great and the donuts were yum! Great drinks too. No doubt it was pricey but it was a great meal. We will go back next year!

beautiful [lace and multiple dinning areas. My suggestion would be to have an Adult only section or 2. Front & side porch maybe. I was out in the back garden area and it was the kids table! alot of little ones crying and throwing plates, etc. paying over $200 for what we expect to take out time and have a quiet eve but we got none of that.

We had a lovely time and our server, Plamena, made our experience extra special. Try the flourless chocolate torte!
