Logan - An American Restaurant
It's still a good spot, though perhaps becoming a bit complacent. Service is uneven -- on two recent visits had an extraordinarily able server the first time and on second one who seemed more than a bit befuddled. Food remains very good (though superlatives not justified) and atmosphere is among the very best in Ann Arbor.
Had a 30 minute wait despite reservation; service initially slow...but then it was straightened out. The food was delicious - option to order petite portions. Recommend
One of the best in Ann Arbor. The menu is always updated based on what is seasonally available.
The food was very good. You don’t get a lot of food, but you are probably not going to this restaurant to fill up, but to enjoy the flavors. The service was attentive and knowledgeable.
We enjoyed another great dinner at Logan's. Our server Spencer was great and attentive, especially given how busy the place was for an early (6:15pm) Tuesday night.
I took my mother out for a little mother daughter nice dinner bonding time, and I was definitely not disappointed. This was our first time at Logan, but will not be our last. The manager provided my mother with a glass of wine that was not on the menu that was perfect for her. Our starter, entrees, and deserts were creative, just a little different than fare you would find elsewhere and very delicious! The service was amazing and we felt very taken care of, but not stalked or harassed in any way. The restaurant was just the right noise level: It was not hard to hear each other, but it wasn't library quiet either. We will be back in the future.
Very nice people, good food, great atmosphere.
Amazing food, superb service. Our best restaurant experience this year. The menu offers great variety and is innovative. We will definitely return.
One of our favorite A2 dining experiences, if not our favorite. Every time. Very talented chef, creative (but not too crazy), delicious food. Love the small, personal atmosphere. Kinda pricey, but absolutely perfect choice for those special nights out.
The restaurant has a good atmosphere and the promise of creative quisine. I particularly appreciate the option of half orders, giving me an opportunity to have three courses without feeling like I overate. The smoked white fish spread was very good. A nice wine list too. The problem comes with the service which was poor right from the beginning. A long wait from the appetizer on. Most disappointing was that the sever and manager made excuses that really shouldn’t be part of the customer’s problem.....new team member, large party (not ours).
Lovely evening with family. Be back again.
We had a superb meal with wonderful service. The food was original and imaginative. The half portions were perfect for some of us!
YOU MUSN'T MISS DESERT, VERY GOOD. ESPECIALLY NICE TO BE ABLE TO ORDER MOST ENTREES IN TWO SIZE PORTIONS.
I truly think this is a best restaurant in Ann Arbor for foodies. Their food is unique but familiar and their food presentation is beautiful. Also, Kevin is the best sommelier in town who is passionate about pairing wines with any menu item.
Logan has never let us down even when it is really busy. I appreciate the two sizes available for the main dishes.
We drive 35 minutes to get there with anticipation a week ahead of our meal. Bravo Logan!
Excellent food, nice ambience, but expect your meal to take awhile.
Wonderful, inventive food as always. The waitstaff are great, they know the menu and are helpful and friendly. Wine list is always changing and full of great options - the "Kevin's Selection" is something you can never go wrong with. We've been coming here since early after it opened, and it remains Ann Arbor's best restaurant.
I have been Logan's customer for a long time and they have never disappointed me. The chef uses high-quality ingredients and prepares all the dishes with care. I like that they now offer smaller portion for some dishes. The pineapple cake and brownie with pistachio ice-cream are yummy. Kevin, the sommelier is very knowledgeable and have always picked great wine for my meals. Highly recommend.
Love the restaurant, with the menu would have new things more often
Excellent service. Good menu. Miss original biscuits and carrots but it goes
Food was great. Owner was great. Waiter was very odd....struggled to answer basic questions about the menu and was not very attentive.
The resturant had a good ambiance and not only the waiter, but the other employees came by to see how we were doing, and we chatted for a bit.
Great food. But really slow service - especially given that it is a small restaurant and there seemed to be many waitstaff. The restaurant was not packed either. Unfortunate.
Server was friendly, nice and attentive but it appeared as though there was an issue in the back of the house. Very long meal.
Our first time there, but others have told us how good it is. Lived up to expectations.
The trout was delectable, and Tuscan bean soup was an explosion of flavors. The whole experience was great. Chef Thad is to be congratulated. 5 stars.
Every dish excellent. Makes choosing very difficult. Wine selection and recommendations superb
Wonderful food from apps to dessert! Great wine list with selection of reasonably priced wines.
The food at Logan is always very good and keeps us coming back.
Occasionally the wait staff and cramped setting makes the overall experience less than great.
Our waiter last night acted like he was in a rush and interrupted our conversations abruptly often. Then to top it off, he forgot to bring my wife her leftovers. When we asked for them they were gone. He offered to give us credit on our “next visit” which at this point is assuming a lot.
Logan's never disappoints. The food is very imaginative and excellent. The service is extremely professional. The room itself is pleasant and comfortable. This is is one of our select go to restaurants for special occasions.
We had a lovely evening at Logan. The food was delicious and I was so excited to eat my leftovers later that evening! A chill vibe, with delectable tastes in every bite of every dish.
Always enjoy good food.
The new menu was fabulous. Every morsel perfect. And our server was outstanding.
Enjoyed the new menu. Many delicious dishes. We tried the tasting menu to sample as much as possible.
We also took a flight of wines and enjoyed the and Kevin's descriptions imensely.
The best tasting food in Ann Arbor again and again.
From New York City and just dropped our son off for his freshman year at UofM. Spent total of seven nights this summer in Ann Arbor and tried all the so-called “best” in Ann Arbor list. Logan is far and away the best. The chef was trained at New York City’s famed Lespinasse, and it shows. Every dish is complex and inventive. Menu is a mad scientist mix of cuisines and flavors. The beef short rib was among the best I’ve ever had. Shrimp and grits with a Mexican mole sauce - who thinks of that! Gnocchi pesto - again maybe the best I’ve ever had, even in Italy. Some waitstaff are students and so not perfect professional grade, but everyone is friendly, earnest and helpful. You are made to feel appreciated and comfortable. The Chef came out and chatted with us and was engaging and humble. This is hands down our favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor. Not to be missed.
My favorite Ann Arbor restaurant!! The service, food and wine are all outstanding!! We both had the special and it was spectacular!! The bottle of wine that the sommelier helped us pick out paired
perfectly with the skate dish. The chocolate mousse for dessert was wonderful!
Outstanding in every way possible. Other than too noisy (2 large tables) is was absolutely perfect.
Had a great experience, tried the tasting menu, and while most were things that I wouldn't have ordered, all were very good. I particularly loved the scallops!
