Great location centrally located downtown. Food is good. Service is always exceptionally slow.
We were very disappointed with our trip to Rock Bottom. The remodel has left the room cold and hard. The chairs were painful to sit on. Then, the food. We ordered salads. They were pathetic. Barely a bowl full of salad, chicken was cold and rubbery. No flavor at all. Not at all the type salad you expect when paying over $12 for the entree. I'd prefer the salad at McDonald's.
Very disappointing, as this was our favorite place to eat pre-theatre. Won't be visiting again.
We had a large group-15+people-for a going away party on a Sunday night. Part of the group was already there but when I checked in, the hostess started setting up another table! So confusing. There was only 1 server for our large group. She was asking if we wanted appetizers and hadn't even taken our drink orders. We got our drinks and she disappeared for too long. When she finally came around she asked us AGAIN if we wanted appetizers. We were you ready to order our meal. That part was very good. After our meal arrived She said she would bring back refills for some and before I could ask for a refill she left. So when she came back I asked for a refill. She sighed, then said loudly to our group "does anyone need anything else while I'm back there?" The whole experience seemed disorganized and our server acted as if we were putting her out. If it was too much for her there should have been another server. This was not a surprise, I had this reservation for over a week.
New furniture is uncomfortable. Removal of carpeting dramatically raises noise level. Food was cold. Carrot cake only has two layers. Old carrot cake had four. Bring back the old Rock Bottom!!
We waited a while before anyone came to take our drink order, even though it wasn't crowded at the time. The french fries I believe we over cooked, very rubbery. I ordered an appetizer that on the menu I thought was $6, but it wasn't until I got home that I was charged $7.50. Not a great experience.
Good food, great service at a reasonable price.
They have great beer, but the food is mediocre.
I love the new remodel. Bar area is much more open and inviting. Happy Hour was fantastic!
Food was fine, but apparently the newly renovated layout and possibly new ordering system was beyond the abilities of the staff. Our order was sent to a different table, then twice we watched a server deliver food to the wrong table because the order taker assigned it to the wrong table. We waited more than 15 minutes for our server to pick up payment, finally, since paying w gift card, we left. Giving her more of a tip than the service warranted. We’ll probably go again because it is close to The Aronoff and we were headed to a show.
Everything was barely OK. Were almost late for theater/Aronoff because we couldn't get our check & pay (and had been there for over an hour)... Love the location, too bad you can't bring it back up to what it was when first opened. Doubt I'll return unless I hear better things from others.
Place was not overly clean. Clearly hasn't been updated since opening. Service was SUPER SLOW. Our server blamed it on helping other servers, but it wasn't overly busy and you can see why. Menu is priced about 20% over market - assume that it is due to location, but the food was underwhelming, and cold. Took my daughter there for a pre-play dinner, but for what we paid, I could've have a better experience at SEVERAL other close places.
We did not stay. We had a reservation for 6:15, however, because of an accident that shut down the highway, we arrived at 6:23. We were told we missed our reservation and there world be a 30-40 minute wait. We had tickets to the Aronoff so we could not stay. After the hostess was that rude, we wouldn't have stayed if we had all night.
Rock Bottom was one of the few places in Cincinnati where I could make late night reservations, after an event at U.S. Bank Arena. The event ran over and they were very accommodating when I called to let them know.
Great time very good food
Pleasantly surprised at the varied menu and giod food
Food was good as always. I do not like the new remodel floor plan. Less comfortable. Looks like you are in a warehouse.
Enjoyed the bar side for football game. Used
open table not realizing bar side is now open seating Brian was a great waiter. He watched for our needs without being intrusive. He fit well with our joking style
Was impressed with the guy in charge of cleaning up after ladies room flooded. He mopped and danced throughout like he enjoyed his job
I have been a mug club member ever since they opened their doors. It was a little upsetting that according to the waitress they haven't got their glasses, so I didn't get any extra beer. Isn't that the reason for being a member? I had rewards on my card but she didn't give me anything. The food was good and so was the beer. The restaurant wasn't complete from the renovations. What was done looks nice.
Enjoyed our meal especially the carrot cake! Remnants of hurricane Gordon caused some trouble with their satellite but we still got to watch the game. Sitting in the bar at a high top table was comfortable. Service was good.
Holiday weekend... our waitress was excellent, very personable., great service
Girls night out
We were in town for a conference. The servers did a great job handling our party of 40.
I’m generally a big fan, but this was a horrible experience. It could have just been a bad Monday, but it started out with nachos that were clearly sitting for a long time. After that, it was (no exaggeration) over an hour from the time we ordered to the time the food was delivered. We were a party of 6 but no one ordered anything unusual. My and my son’s hamburgers were cold. Not refrigerator cold, but it was obvious our food was ready long before it was served. The experience was outweighed by the fact is was my birthday; so I wasn’t in the mood to complain. OpenTable reached out to me for comments. Otherwise, I would not have created this review.
Good. Typical of a well managed chain. A bit lacking in personal touches.
Was not very impressed. The server was nice but not the best at serving. My husband loved his food. Mine was not good. Ordered a steak with rice and fries. I asked if the rice was spicy at all, he said no... it was really spicy. My steak was undercooked on the inside but incredibly over cooked on the outside. Not at all impressed
We were there on an event night and fully expected delayed service so no problem with that, however our server didn’t deal well with the chaos and was often short toned with our group. Additionally they kept running out of the large beer mugs and we were told continually that she couldn’t take our next drink order until we finished our current drink because they were out of glasses. Not sure how a brewery runs out of glasses... overall it was ok, but I wouldn’t recommend going on a super busy night
Team dinner. Great atmosphere
My date and I spent only $20 on our food and both meals were absolutely fantastic. The bottomless fries paired with ranch tasted amazing. The ambiance was great for a date. The lights are slightly dimmed and the decorations in the restaurant look very comforting. The only downside was that our server did not tend to us as much as we would have liked. Overall, it was a very good experience.
We were very happy with the taste food and the beer was pretty good as well. Our server was nice when she did come to our table but she didn't come by very often at all and our entrees and appetizer all came out at once and my entree was a little cold. Good atmosphere and tasty food but the service was unfortunately lacking.
Our second visit to Rock Bottom. Food was good! Service not great. We were seated in a section with many servers all around but not one server acknowledged our table. We finally stopped a server and asked if he could find ours. He did and someone finally came. She was pleasant but VERY slow. Our drinks from the bar took forever...even though other tables received theirs. We got our appetizer but needed to ask for plates and silverware. Overall poor service (and it didn't seem that busy!) Again...our food was good and our server was pleasant but not very efficient and not very attentive. Wasn't thrilled with the experience
Overall we enjoyed our evening. We were celebrating a work reward our son got. The only negative was the nachos my daughter ordered for her meal. She ordered them with beef. The beef seemed as if it had sat for a long time and was dry and bland. There were 5 adults and a toddler, the rest of our food was very good. I am a light eater so gave my daughter the other half of my meal. We will go back again!
Our server seemed like she was not interested in being there or in serving us, but the food was pretty good
Loved the food and the service!! Worth the drive to downtown and paying for parking in Fountain Square.
My husband and I visited Rock Bottom for our date night and we enjoyed the food and people watching. We dined outside on the patio and had a wonderful meal and enjoyed the beautiful weather. We will be back.
Good before a reds game.
Server was great. The flight of craft beer selections was perfect. We had a great experience. Would definitely recommend.
This is our favorite restaurant to go to. We always feel like we get our money’s worth and the food is always great.
Food was not hot when it arrived. Steak was very tough. Not a good experience.
