Honestly, disappointed in food. The presentation was very lacklustre, and the food was just ok. Actually the loaded hashbrowns were quite good, the steak, shrimp cocktail so-so. The ceasar salad disappointing too-felt like it was prepared and just sat in a fridge to chill.
Had another great meal here, I love steakhouses and I will have too say that this one for consistency passed Mannys. Nothing is as good as Mannys hash browns, but Murrays beats them on a great meal consistently. Awesome value for an early bird, 3 course for $30. Great app, bacon wrapped BBQ shrimp....had a NY Strip waygu, it was phenomenal. Thanks Murrays
I hit up Murray's every time I come to Minneapolis. My boss and I have a special affinity for it as we used it for a special occasion back in 2008. The food is delicious, the service is impeccable.
Excellent food and friendly service. I love this place.
Absolutely loved everything about Murray's! Probably the best steak my husband and I have ever had. Specialty drinks are delish!
Great food. The service was fantastic. Big portions of tasty food.
Murray's always comes through -- great steaks and outstanding service. Sometimes overshadowed by trendier places, but none better.
An institution that stands the test of time. Perfect
I took my mother to Murray’s for an early birthday meal. This was our first time dining there. We started with cocktails. The garlic toast and pretzel in the bread basket were a nice start prior to the French onion soup and Caesar salad. We had the Chateaubriand for two, it was done to perfection. The wait staff were superb and readily available taking great care of us during our dining experience. We took dessert to go as we also had left overs. Murray’s was fantastic! Thank you for such a lovely evening!
Dinner at Murray’s with friends to celebrate our birthdays. Excellent steaks and sides. Wonderful service. The waiter provided each of the people who had birthdays with a small but delicious cake. First class all the way!
Warm friendly atmosphere & delicious food!
Iconic steakhouse does not disappoint. Impeccable food. Great service. Murray’s pays attention to details
Best tasing steak in Minneapolis. Quiet setting great for anniversaries or meeting with clients. Not pretentious, fake or too loud like competitors.
Excellent food and service! Love the garlic toast!!
The food and service was wonderful! Friendly, welcoming and very open about answering questions you may have about the menu. Great location for a romantic date. The atmosphere of the dining room is very old-school, but still not outdated, and even when they were full you could still carry a conversation without feeling like you were trying to shout. The women's restroom also had actual towels to dry your hands! Who does that?! Definitely would love to come back.
Amazing service. Great food. Never disappointed. The special they had was a bone in steak. It was cooked perfectly. Great texture. I did find the steak to be a bit under seasoned and lacking in flavor a bit.
The salad. Sides ( risotto and mushrooms ) along with the garlic toast were on point and amazing. The service is always a step above and spectacular
Great, attentive service. Pleasant, unhurried atmosphere. And of course excellent food. Will return.
Probably one of the best steaks we have ever had. Came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Location worked out well for us also as we were staying downtown.
Celebrated my grandsons 13 th bd and my 76th!!! He heard me talk often of the old days at Murray’s with my husband and sons! Still wonderful with new updates to decor!! My son and his wife loved it too! He remembered the waitress that had worked there for 27 years and she told him she was “new”😂
Great food & service. Heard about how great it was for years and it didn’t fail to impress!
Wagyu ribeye was off the chart delicious. Highly recommended & I will definitely be back!
Took our son out for a birthday dinner. It was awesome! The food was delicious! Our server Joey was awesome!
Our party of 6 all ordered different steaks and every one was fantastic. The bread basket is to die for and the 4 sides we had were superb ( mac n cheese, loaded hash downs, corn and my favorite the green beans). Our server, Dylan, was warm, helpful and professional and offered some great recommendations. While the prices are high, our experience was perfect and the 51 year old birthday boy was completely happy with Murray’s and wants to go back again before his next birthday.
Murray's is fantastic! The food and service are the absolute best!!
Hot food hot and Cold food cold !! Service was excellent. Chateau briand for 2 was melt in your mouth good and the red raspberry pie was exquisite. I would go again 👍
Great food, great wine, great service, great time. Always!
Our waiter was absolutely fabulous. The food choices he recommended were wonderful.
We sat at the bar before our reservation and had a drink and the bartender was fantastic too.
The valet parking was convenient.
Four of us, including two piscetarians (basically, vegetarians who eat fish) whom I would have thought to be the LAST people to dine at Murray's Steakhouse, had a fantastic dinner and excellent pre-dinner cocktails in the bar. The food was to die for, the service friendly and unobtrusive, and the valet parking a little pricey ($12) but certainly worth it on a cold evening. And our meatless friends said their fish dishes were the best they'd ever had! My friend and I had the Silver Butter Steak Knife which is every bit as marvelous as it's been for the last several decades. I wanted to marry it.
We remember the old Murray's, which had waitresses who had been there for years, classic red banquettes, polite service, and good food at a fair price. This visit for two family birthdays was a disappointment, since the food was quite expensive but not exceptional in quality and the service was not up to par. While some of the old atmosphere remains, we missed the old Murray's. At our visit, the steak was of average quality but carried a very high price tag. The "hickory-smoked chicken" had no discernible smoked flavor, and the entire dish was drowned in an unpleasantly sweet sauce. The cocktails were excellent though over-priced ($19 for a Manhattan!). The wedge salad was good, as was the garlic toast. We waited a long time for coffee and dessert to be offered, and to pay our bill. Sorry Murray's, but for the price, there are better places to celebrate a special occasion.
Always a wonderful evening when we go the Murray’s. The steak and garlic toast are fantastic.
My wife and I have been going to Murray's for our anniversary every year for 16 years and never have been disappointed until this year. It may have been because there was a Viking's game and a lot of fans were there before the game but the service was slow and the food was not up to regular Murray standards. Very noisy and it was hard to have a conversation without raising your voice. Disappointing but we will likely be back and pick a night when there is no game downtown.
Excellent food. My favorite spot in the TC! Never, ever, disappoints. Great atmosphere, great staff, and an excellent menu.
Always a great evening at Murray's. The food, service, and staff are all the best.
Best steak anywhere. The home made salt seasoning sets it apart.
The Wagyu beef was the best, most flavorful steak I have ever tasted, hands down! Prepared to perfection, oh so tender and mouthwatering. The lemon/artichoke/ spinach risotto had a slight hint of mint, a result of preserved Morrocan lemons, was fabulous. Excellent food and wait staff.
We have never been disappointed. On the contrary, we have never walked away saying anything other than WOW!!
One of the best steaks I have ever enjoyed. The homemade fresh raspberry pie was delicious.
My wife and I shared the flight of steaks and loved every bite. The service was great, we'll be going back to try more of the menu.
I took my son as a celebration for his job promotion. The steaks were excellent; the Au gratin potatoes were superb. The waiter was fun and attentive. We enjoyed everything about it.
Nathan was a wonderful server. He did a great job making sure my Husband's 50th birthday was special. He also was great at recommending appetizers and had good suggestions for steak and side options as well. Thank You for such a memorable birthday!
Food was ok but not the greatest when compared to other steakhouses in that same category of fine dining. Definitely need to invest in steak knives! Friendly knowledgeable staff though.
