The restaurant was closing down the next day and they had only a limited menu. This was not updated on the website. I have been to Habitat before, and went expecting a certain kind of menu and level of service. This visit didnt meet my expectations.

I've been here on a cooking class date, date with my fiancé and he recently went with a board member. We have given multiple chances for redemption but this place sucks. The food is not good. Nothing good to say about the place

Dishes were creative and very flavorful with wonderfully unexpected combinations of flavor and texture. Our server, Devon, coaxed us into trying dishes we might have otherwise overlooked - the fried eggs , stuff pepper "snacks." The halibut was highly recommended and it did not disappoint. Dessert, too, was exceptionally tasty and nicely presented. I'm sorry to be catching the restaurant just as it closes for redesign of decor and menu, but I'll look for its re-opening to see what chef Jean-Paul Lourdes has in store - I understand food will be available in the meantime in the lobby and at the restaurant/lounge of the Fairmont hotel.

Habitat has a new menu that was extremely difficult to find one thing that I would be willing to order. Also the prices were very high. I understand they are closing for the summer and reopening with a new restaurant. I hope they keep in mind that some Pittsburghers like "foody food" and some just want "normal" options. Many "foody food" restaurants have gone out of business here.

Unbelievable! Divine! Best buffet we have had. Well worth the price for Mother's Day! The day was honestly the best ever. The food for a buffet was not your typical fare. EVERY dish was memorable including dessert. The thing we loved the most was the tapas dishes in addition to the lamb and beef brisket. We were able to try things we normally would never have tried. Thank you Habitat for the best Mother's Day buffet ever. In fact, the best in my many years of trying different buffets. Last but not least, our server Jessie was very attentive and excellent.

Went for brunch with family. Food was good but not excellent which is what i would expect for the price. Service was poor... food brought before drinks and i was unable to order wine until food was about to arrive (i did not order at this point). There was no bartender and our waitress had to bartend which she admits did not know how to do and also admitted did not follow the recipe (drinks were not good btw)

This was my first time back since they changed the menu. My meal was tasty but I really enjoyed the old menu. The food on the current menu doesn't give me a reason to come back anything soon. I always ordered the Naan bread as a appetizer to be shared and now it's gone.

The menu is simplified and limited but the dishes are uniquely prepared. Presentation of the food, quality and taste were nice. It wasn't crowded on a weeknight. Service was with a smile but involved too many errors and delays and the server wasn't knowledgeable about the menu.

I was disappointed that the restaurant had changed their menu and it was not the one posted on line. I had had their express lunch in the past and while it was reflected on their web site, it was not offered. In fact, the menu was smaller due to their planned refurbishment. Otherwise, food was good.

Our waiter, Gary, had great suggestions and was just attentive enough. He was also very knowledgeable about the menu. Great cocktail and wine list. Was a lovely place to celebrate our anniversary...modern but romantic. Wonderful menu options, highly recommend the Naan appetizer with 3 different spreads. Both of our entrees were excellent, I had the duck and my husband had the rabbit confit dish. We were really surprised it wasn't more busy on a Saturday night at 8 pm!

Server, Alexis was excellent. Attentive, professional, knowledgeable. The menu should have more "middle of the road" options in addition to the higher end types of food available. Even though I am used to fine dining, some traveling with me were having difficulty finding something they liked on the menu.

Had a fantastic meal, starting with our outstanding waiter Devin. Seriously, he steered my the whole way with impeccable recommendations. One member of our party required food immediately, naan was brought out efficiently and without drama. The beef carpaccio was delicious and kindly divided into 3 portions. My cocktail, recommended by Devin, was the red pepper-infused gimlet and was a treat. Venison for dinner, which was perfectly cooked and just the right portion. Finally our desserts - beautiful, complicated and delicious. This was a family get together meeting from out of town, and the dinner was as delightful as my niece and sister. Thank you

This was the second time we came to Habitat, and it was just as good as the first. We particularly appreciate the grass-fed beef and the organic salad. However, in forty years of dining out, neither of us have ever had a dessert like we had. All six main offerings were unusual combinations and the two we picked, the ones centered around earl grey tea ice cream and the one centered around chamomile ice cream , were beyond description. Even if I didn't come back for the good food, I'd be back for the desserts.

The service was phenomenal! Friendly, prompt, good recommendations. The view was nice-downtown at night through large floor to ceiling windows. I started with a roasted cauliflower side instead of a salad. The cauliflower was delicious, but the pickled peppers didn't mesh well in my opinion. I was hoping for more spicy than vinegary. My main course choice was black cod with beech mushrooms, sake and turnip purée. The skin on the cod was crispy and delicious while the tender white flesh was cooked rare and succulent. I have never had beech mushrooms and they along with the sake and turnip purée paired nicely. There were also some baby greens on top that I loved. Why not 5 stars? The beer selection was weak and I thought the price for the cod was a little steep. The above dinner with 2 beers was $70.00 with the tip. I can't afford that very often.

For the first time in many visits, food service was terribly slow. They said they had 2 big parties, so kitchen got "backed up." Shouldn't happen in a place like Habitat, given its prices and the Fairmont overall reputation for service.

Ambiance was outstanding. Dinner was very good. Octopus app was delicious but a bit pricy at 18.00. It took a long time to get our dinners which I could not understand as we were the only table in the restaurant at that time. Desserts were very good. Place is a bit pricy side. Dinner for five with apps and wine topped out at over $500 with tip. Most ridiculous was the price for valet parking. Our party arrived in three cars and the price per car for the 2.5 hours we were there was $24. There is NO justification for that. They should tell you the price up front as I would have most certainly parked on the street.

We had a very pleasant dining experience at Habitat . The naan bread with the multiple spreads was a great beginning , as were the beet salad and risotto . The main dishes were flavorful and nicely put together , and two tasty desserts ( the chocolate brownie and the pineapple cake ) served as a fine ending to our meal . Our server was very helpful in guiding us through the questions we had about the menu .

I had a venison filet that was absolutely wonderful. We also had their naan bread with 3 dips that was just fantastic. I really enjoyed the separated pineapple upside down cake and espresso at the end. The real treat was our waiter... I wish I recalled his name but lets just say that he was truly professional, made great recommendations and was always nearby when we needed him.... I'll probably go there again this Thursday when I'm downtown for another show....
