We looked up Le Lyonnais' web site and saw a traditional French bistro menu. It included many of our favorite French dishes. We were really looking forward to Escargot that night since we hadn't had them in a while and I was looking forward to sopping up the juice with my bread. When we got there, they had a simple, white-card-stock printing of a smaller menu. Many items we saw online were not available and we suggested to our server that this was disappointing at the least. So we had the Lobster Bisque, which was delicious, and the house salad, which was very good but had maybe a bit too many onions. For our main course we had two of the appetizers...steak tartar and the plate with three pates. It was all very good. Not necessarily spectacular but very tasty. If they still had the traditional menu and more of the items they promote on their web site, I'm sure we would have been much more satisfied with dining at Le Lyonnais. But I'm afraid there are other more traditional French restaurants in the area and there are other more avant garde, modern French food places as well. But if I was staying in a hotel that had a restaurant like this on the ground floor, I'd be very happy.

The French cuisine was excellent, the atmosphere was quiet permitting a conversation at the table, and the service was very attentive. The price was good. We will definately go again.

My fiancé and I went here two nights in a row, we liked it so much. Everything we ordered, from cocktails and hors d'ouvres to entrées, was excellent. The flavor profiles were sophisticated and interesting, clearly cultivated with care, and we absolutely loved that you could get more unique dishes such as tripe and pork cheek in addition to favorites like calamari and cheese plates. Service was very good as well.

Excellent food and service. Two requested menu items were not available. Server said Place is for sale and all items are not available. Food was very, very good. Seems strange that there are two French restaurants in the same block of Penn Avenue and this one is attached to the Courtyard Marriott. I would think a more bar food friendly menu might be better than trying to get too fancy with steak tartare.

The server we had was amazing, he was super informative and answered all of our questions about the menu. His recommendations were all spot on, and the food was amazing. We never wanted for bread or drink, he was always right there when we were low. The ambiance of the place is of a little french square, and was perfect for our date. We got apps, a bottle of wine, and dinner for an extremely reasonable price as well. This is definitely a new favorite of ours and we will be back again.

Nope. The owners have left the decor intact from the previous iteration of the restaurant, which makes the place feel tired and "re-purposed." The worn out surroundings might have been forgiven if the food had been any good, but, alas, our meal was as dispiriting as the environs. Everything was over-salted and had an institutional taste. No. Just no.

Food (Louisiana baked shrimp, Roasted chicken and Beef bourguignon) was excellent. Waiter was not as attentive as expected but ok. Decor looked tired and did not impart a feeling of a French cafe /restaurant. Needs to be refreshed.

It is called Lyonnaise but does not even propose a 'salade lyonnaise'. The blanquette lacked flavor, mainly missing white wine and the boeuf bourguigon missed the basic vegetables, e.g. carotte. The wine list/prices could also be enhanced. All in all the waitress was fantastic, but the restaurant should not call itself Lyonnaise unless and unit it seriously ups it game.

It was Friday night @ 6pm, place was quiet which made it easy to hear each other. We started @ bar for happy hour. Drinks were good but the mushroom pate came with extremely hard bread and only a dot size of boursin cheese. We moved to dining rm for dinner. Our server was not attentive all night. We only received one drink , my salmon was too raw to eat and by the time he came back from who knows where everyone else was finished, so just got it to go. Then we ordered dessert. He brought me the wrong dessert! Everyone finished theirs by the time I got my Creme Brûlée . I have to say it was worth the wait!

I was in town traveling from Wisconsin and I was recommended to check this place out by a man I met who knows the chef. We were celebrating several birthdays and family unity and this restaurant supplied the perfect atmosphere and experience. Wonderful food shared by all of us in a many-course plan that our amazing server Rejeana helped make an occasion to remember. She was knowledgeable, friendly, attentive and an overall joy to have around. I will certainly recommend this restaurant to others and I wish you all the best of luck in your future as a restaurant and team. Cheers!

The staff was fine. They were knowledgeable about wine selections and other menu items. I had the French onion soup. The cheese and crouton were wrong. The broth was bland and lacked complexity. I almost always finish onion soup but I didn't this. Pork tenderloins were tender but, I feel, a bit undercooked. Covered in sauce, I didn't quite notice the problem until well into the meal. The room is cavernous and was empty on a Saturday night during pre-theatre, even with an opening night at the Benedum, and other houses open, too. Prices are moderate, befitting the middling experience.

There were 4 people in our party, we all had different dishes and we each thought our dishes were perfect in taste and presentation. The atmosphere was perfect for talking with friends we hadn't seen in awhile, nice and quiet and pleasant seating. The wait staff gave excellent descriptions of the meals on the menu and offered some suggestions. Because we were there before 6pm one of us tried the three course pre fixe dinner which was delightful. All of the dishes were reasonably priced and the servings were quite satisfying. We all said we would return and would gladly recommend it to others.

The host stand is hidden if you're entering through hotel. Atmosphere was good, host was pleasant, our server knew the menu. The menu was a little misleading, however we enjoyed our second entree of Ratatouille after sending the first entree of pasta and seafood with a heavy tomato soup-like sauce back. The cheese plate was over-valued and extremely close to its expiration date (especially the blue cheese, which we hid under bread as to not complain). We found a lighter under the drivers seat, which meant the valet driver smoked at some point, which explained the smell when we got into the vehicle. Overall... We'd go back but will find parking elsewhere.

The food was good and we enjoyed our wine. However, the service and the pacing of the meal were problematic. The server recited and described in detail her "favorite" dishes on the menu, which amounted to telling us largely what we could read for ourselves. The main dishes came 40 minutes after we finished the appetizer, and two out of three were heated unevenly. After 30 minutes of waiting for the main course, we asked the server about the delay; she didn't seem to know what happened, and said she'd tell the kitchen to "fire" it (!). When the manager came by and inquired about our meal so far, we told her what was happening. She responded that sometimes orders get lost in the kitchen, and then followed up with "everything's okay, though, you're not late for your show, are you?"

The food was excellent, but heavy. portions were large and delicious. three of us ordered off the three course set menu for Pre-show events. and barely made it to the show.. They have a lovely cheese cart that is amazing but it seems very time consuming for our server who never made it back to our table to see if our food was delivered correctly. I would have liked a glass of wine with my dinner but never saw our server to order one. We rushed thru dessert and threw our credit cards at the bill so we could make the show. Overall a little stressful when it shouldn't have been

After we went to a play we came back for after dinner drinks at the bar. Wonderful drinks and excellent bartender. Will come back but will stick to small plates and wine, not cocktail list.

It’s was very good. As a chef I don’t really understand the meatballs arrabiatta. There was an issue in the kitchen because a few tables were visibly upset. Our experience was good and I would come back. But there are many other restaurants to try so with the absence of ceviche. I will try many more before I return. Good experience though.

We ate there on a Monday night and the place was empty. The food and service were good. We asked about the happy hour prices and were told that we would have to sit at the bar. Maybe they would get more customers if they weren't so anal. My wife's white wine was served in a huge glass meant for red wine and it was about 10% full - about 1 ounce of wine!

Aaron was a delight. He was a pleasure to talk with and knew when to engage and when not to. The pumpkin spice old fashioned mocktail the bartender made was delicious. I didn’t hear his his name. And we enjoyed a superb meal but for the escargots. They started nicely but ended really flatly. Some garlic would have been helpful. Other than that we totally enjoyed the steak tartare, salmon and crab tartine, beet salad, parm/truffle fries and salmon with sage spatzle. And the desserts were divine: vanilla bean creme brûlée and lemon tart. Thanks again Aaron for the great service.

We picked this venue to try it out since it reopened and because we thought it would work before our 8:00 show. I enjoyed my chx dinner and had great service! She even offered to keep my leftovers for me to pick up after the show. The hostess gave me her card, so we could call before arriving so it would be ready for us!
