our food was not memorable service was very underpart, server was rude and impatient a simple ask for turn up the lamp to see the menu better while all other surrounding table have better lighting, the answer is can't do much about it . it was not really pet friend, seniors friendly . i could have dine else where except this wasn't my personal choice .

We have been to Il Fornaio many times and mostly had great meals. Our recent visit was, however, atrocious. Of the four people in our party, only one enjoyed their meal. Two of us ordered seafood risotto and it was inedible. The rice was hard, uncooked, and there was what looked like cooking water from the asparagus under the rice. The calamari was delicious, as usual.

Good Thanksgiving dinner. I had requested a quiet table. The noise level in the main dining room was anything but quiet. Luckily, I investigated the patio and we were seated there where the noise level was tolerable. Service very good. 9 bucks for a bottle of sparkling water is outrageous. All in all, glad we came.

It's a nice place and the food is good. The service was very good when we were there. It just surprised me that they have added a 3% benefits surcharge this year, that they didn't have before. The total, plus taxes, plus benefits surcharge, plus the 22% for tip... it's getting very pricey to eat out these days :(

Everything was wonderful except for being received when we arrived. We were told to wait outside even tho my Mom (99 years of age) was there and this was also mentioned when I made the reservations. The inital receptionist was unfriendly and on the curt side. Did not like this at all. We were 10 minutes early. She did not tell us why we could not be seated. THAT IS A BIG MISTAKE AND SHOWS NO CLASS; EXPLAIN WHY WE CANNOT BE SEATED 10 MINUTES EARLY. When we returned for our reservation, the manager was there to greet us and said she would take us to the table. By the time my elderly Mom walked in (again she is 99 as mentioned in the reservation) the rude receptionist was back again and asked what we wanted. I traveled 80 miles for this event with my family and to think I had to go through this exercise with just getting to a table is inexcusable. It shows a lack of the front staff's ability to emphasize with the elderly (#1) and lack of empathy (#2) when customers travel to their facility, they want some comfort and warmer greeting - maybe a nice and kind "hello - we are glad to see you." The receptionist and manager need some straightening out. They will be old one day, too - Get real. We are customers to this restaurant location for years. This is the first time we have been greeted so rudely and could not have been accommodated so that my 99 year old Mom did not have to move around, around, and around again..... BTW, the table was set and ready.....No excuses. Our waitress, Marina, was wonderful, as well as the other staff tending to our dining experience. We appreciate the quiet atmosphere. The room temperature was pleasant. Food was good. Everythng perfect but the front area which shows no class at all and a poor reflecton on the brand. I wanted to confront the situation but did not want my Mom to feel badly about it. If poor greetings continues my next trip, I will never return again. And tell others the same.

Food is great. Service is great. I love the dining room atmosphere. My one gripe is the fee that is added to our bill that is not justified or legal, for so called expenses for personnel. It is a travesty and overreach by a dignified restaurant. You should stop the practice immediately. Raise your prices if you must, but don't offend me by taking on the charge.

The staff was a bit overwhelmed, so kudos to them but they just had too much to do to give the service patrons need. The food was good, not great, but nice. Overall it is a nice and very large restaurant with a lovely staff and good food.

Our server, Marina was delightful. Really thought your property was a little more upscale. Food was a “C” but our server was delightful. The folks across from us left because no one came. He wasn’t happy when he left. Bottom line, wouldn’t go back.

Lovely restaurant with delightful ambiance. It's been a favorite of ours for many years. However, last night the service was for drinks was incredibly slow. I can't believe how long we waited for our cocktails, and I did have to inquire 3 times if they were ready!!! I understand if a restaurant is full, but the place was less than half full, therefore, the bar service should have been much quicker. Anyhow, when the cocktails did arrive, they were good. Regarding dinner, I had the Branzino fish and it was excellent.

The Calamaritti Friti was excellent. Not overly breaded, not greasy, and very generous serving. Capricciosa pizza was great. Really great. I was told it served one but it would have been enough for two as an entree. My two guests were pleased with their choices. My only complaints are one-off's and shouldn't be a reflection on the restaurant as a whole: A second-tier waiter knocked a full glass of wine all over my guest. He was gracious about it - dark clothes hide red wine stains - and accepted the apology, but just refilling his glass didn't seem like quite enough. When the hostess directed us to a table looking into the business end of the kitchen and I asked for a different table, she didn't respond, she just set down the menus and went back to her station.

Good food, good service, nice atmosphere. This isn’t a must go to place, but good for a dinner out. The pear salad was delicious (but small). I love that they have gluten free pasta since I have celiac. The pasta was a dish with garlic and oil and shrimp and vegetables. It was good but the flavor wasn’t fantastic. We ate at 5:30 on a Sunday so not too noisy, but if there were a lot of people I bet it gets very noisy

It just nice. Comfortable, you almost feel your at a family's home. Had the prix fixed menu. All it should have been,. I chose the Caesar salad, crisp lettuce, dressing not overdone. Salmon main course cooked perfectly. Desert was a custard (I believe) hit all the right spots. Waiter was patient with questions being asked.

Daughter wanted a fancy dinner for her 10th birthday and she picked Il Fornaio. The service was amazing and they made her birthday very special. She invited a few friends and the staff was patient with them and explained the menu. All the food was super tasty too. Thanks Il Fornaio!

We have been coming to Il Forniaio for 15 years and it has been out favorite restaurant for special occasions. We were shocked and worried at how empty the restaurant was a 7.30pm saturday oct7. We have never seen it so empty. Our waitress was and attentive but could have waited just 1mn for us to sit down ad remove out coast before asking questions and wanting to talk about the special. Sorry but I find this rude. The prices had soared and are becoming out of our price range. Good this there was a nice $45 prix fixe menu which was nice. The food was good. Service nice but we left with mixed feelings and not so sure we will return as we drove up all the way from San Pedro for dinner. We are a little sad.
