Excellent service with smiles all around. The quality of the food was perfect. Generous portion and the flavors were perfect.
Cant wait ro come back and try dinner
The breakfast was average for the price they charge.
Service was good and similar to average restaurants.
You can get the same quality dishes half a price at other brunch places in Vancouver.
It was our first time at Botanist, and we had such an amazing time. Food was beyond amazing and service was wonderful
Delicious and a lovely spot for a reunion.
Everything was outstanding. Our waiter was perfect, the food delicious and the overall experience impeccable. We did a Sunday brunch to celebrate my mom’s birthday and they had a card ready for her, signed by the staff! Very sweet.
I am really pleased with my food. One thing I have to comment is instead of substituting something for me to make the duck dish glutenfree they actually take away one component which is very disappointing.
They had a card signed by the employees congratulating us on our wedding anniversary. That’s very thoughtful. The food was amazing and perfectly cooked. I’m a chef so I’m ver particular about my meals and they rocked it 🙌🏻💪🏻
Initial impressions were good. This was my first time at Botanist after previously dining at the now-closed Oru and I was very impressed with the new space. We were promptly seated at our 7:45pm reservation time and our orders for drinks were quickly taken. We then ordered our appetizers and main courses at the same time. Between the four of us, we ordered the Steak, Duck, Chicken and Fish. We ordered one appetizer (Hand-cut Tagliatelle) as well. This came out relatively quickly along with fresh bread.
After this point, however, our server disappeared, and our service had become non-existent.
We were not offered refills on our drinks (and had to ask) a while after we had finished them and our water was rarely topped up.
Long after we finished the bread, we waited close to an hour for our main courses to arrive. Given that most of us had not ordered appetizers, most were frustrated and hungry. I asked another server (not, ours, as he had vanished) to check up on them and was told they would be out within the next 5 minutes. This took another 15. Our food arrived at our table 9:10pm, with absolutely no apology or explanation from staff as to why this took as long as it did.
Similar to the appetizer ordered and the complimentary bread, our mains were cooked to perfection.
It is an absolute shame that I have no desire to dine here again, nor will be recommending this restaurant to others due to service we received that hardly reflected the price we paid for dinner.
Pricey, but inventive and delicious. Kudos to the sommelier for a delicious wine pairing.
Our experience was lovely from start to finish. The room is beautiful with soothing colors and lush greenery. The cocktail list is creative. I had the martini and it was perfect. We shared the tagliatelle pasta starter and it was creamy but not too rich with wild mushrooms that gave it a earthy flavor. I had the duck and my husband had the sablefish and both were cooked to perfection. We finished with the Meyer lemon cake which was melt in your mouth and heavenly. The service was attentive but not rushed. I should also mention that they also have an excellent wine list including a very nice selection of wines by the glass. We loved our dining experience at Botanist and happily recommend it for all occasions.
First time at the Botanist. Loved it. the Food was delicious, our server was awesome - lots of attention and not over bearing, and just a really great experience all around. Will definitely be back.
The polite and welcoming staff was one of the things that made this dining experience so wonderful. I absolutely adored the fact that the dishes we had ordered included ingredients that were in season (e.g. carrots, turnips, quince). The cocktails were elegant and I am truly blown away by the flavours. I am definitely coming back again from maybe either the brunch or lunch menu.
I am not much of a foodies, but I like to try new restaurants. I googled best restaurant for 2018. And this restaurant was #2. Our server was Brandon, very attentive. Service was top notch. Food was delicious, can’t complain. It is on the pricer side. But you get what you paid for.
Great decor, beautiful presentation, excellent food and service.
Great experience! The sablefish was truly wonderful and they modified it for my allergies for gluten and lactose intolerance
Perhaps the best restaurant in Vancouver
Too pricey for pretty ordinary menu offerings. Server was very nice and attentive.
The restaurant is on the second floor, with the bathrooms closer to the ballrooms. The decor is muted, but elegant and the little details make a difference. Great cocktail, wine and non alcoholic drinks.
The sablefish was really good, as was the tagliatelle pasta (appy size). The only complaint we had was that the kitchen took a long time with the main course. Otherwise, it was a great experience.
Excellent food and professional, knowledgeable service. Thoughtfully creative, superbly prepared dishes using top-notch ingredients. Creative cocktails with several great non-alcoholic options. Beautiful dining room and bar area. My only complaint is that the room is very, very loud. This is not the place for a quiet, romantic dinner. Otherwise, five stars.
It came highly recommended by friends in the food industry in another city. I didn't think it could live up to my expectations and it didn't; rather, it totally surpassed them!
I had very high expectations going in, but I was unprepared to be so wowed by my entire experience at Botanist. It's a beautiful space, the staff are extremely attentive and thoughtful but not obsequious, and the food is exquisite perfection. In a town with an exceptional restaurant on every corner, Botanist is a standout.
Amazing food. Amazing service. The sommelier was something very special, though. Clearly she loved where she was from and was exciting to teach us all of the nuances. It was a really special experience and definitely one of my top 5 dining experiences. Would definitely return again
Our dinner at the Botanist was to celebrate a milestone birthday and we were absolutely thrilled with the meal, service and ambiance. The winelist was varied and interesting and the sommelier well informed. A perfect evening was enjoyed by all
Excellent food and cocktails
Great cocktails and delicious food. Absolutely loved the tagliatelle.
exceptionally great service. delicious food. beautiful interior. lived everything about this place
I found this very popular restaurant, only average. Staff really needed more training. Pricing was high end but did not match the experience sadly.
Beautiful space, exquisite food and impeccable service.
Food was very good, however was noisy at lunch. Found the seating a bit cramped and uncomfortable.
Myself and three of my girlfriends came to the restaurant to have dinner last night Tuesday, October 23, 2018. The service was great and the food was great, the only issue I had was to do with dessert at the end of the evening. We were celebrating my birthday and my friend asked what dessert I would like. We ordered from the menu and when the bill came the $12 dessert was split four ways. We spent over $500 last night at the restaurant and I would’ve appreciated having that dessert free as I had made the botanist team aware ahead of time that we were celebrating my birthday. Overall I enjoyed celebrating there last night but was a bit disappointed that the restaurant did not cover dessert. Just wanted to make the team aware.
The food delivery and service are too slow., but good environment and food taste good. I prefer the brunch.
Unfortunately the food did not stun me as I usually experience from fine establishments. I left quite disappointed. However the plating, service and ambiance was outstanding.
This was the best restaurant we went to while visiting for four days in town. I would highly recommend it!
Heard a lot from this place, good and bad. Finally decided to go there for a brunch because I heard the dinner menu.... Well, I'll say it's great place to take photos but food. Service is excellent.
Our only issue was that our reservation was for 8:45 pm but we were not seated till 9:20 pm. Not a total loss as we enjoyed drinks at the little lounge area.
Fabulous dinner - we had the tasting menu to celebrate an anniversary and every dish, every drink was simply amazing. Great experience, would highly recommend. Hard to hear the servers over the live music, but it wasn't too loud for conversation.
It was our anniversary. We ordered the tasting menu. It was a great dining experience that took 3 hours. The live music provided by a single guitar player was perfect.
INCREDIBLE!!!! Highly recommend!!!
Fantastic tasting menu! Your wine list was amazing. Jill has done a wonderful job sourcing small batch wines. Thanks for taking such good care of us. Sincerely Park Avenue Wines, Portland, OR
Music was a bit too loud for business setting. They may need more servers as the service was not bad, but not quite attentive.
