What Insiders Are Saying
Spinasse in Capitol Hill is one of the best fork-up-your-money Italian restaurants in Seattle.
The service and food were absolutely phenomenal. Unfortunately, the hostess failed to mention we were celebrating a birthday and it went unnoticed by our server. The hostess also seated us at a less than stellar table that had cold wind hitting us every time the door opened. We made these reservations months in advance and indicated there was a special birthday and the hostess failed to take that into account when seating us. If you plan on celebrating and want a great table, it’s best to call ahead and speak directly with someone as they won’t pay attention via opentable.
One of our favorite restaurants. Every time we go we are always so impressed with the food. Always one of the best meals. Great wine and service as well.
One of the best restaurants in Seattle. The tasting menu was fantastic. The wine pairings were perfect. Great service.
Rabbit meatballs were delicious! In fairness we only had appetizers and did not experience the pasta which they are known for. Our server was very attentive and made excellent recommendations. Sauces were a little heavy but broccoli had a nice twist.
Incredible Italian food. Authentic. Great attentive to service without being pushy or hurried. I've never been disappointed here.
Spinasse was just what I wanted, just as I imagined, except the watching of the pasta maker. That exceeded my expectations. Very enjoyable, delectable, & quaint.
Truly great food. One of my favorite dining experiences.
Friday was my fifth time dinning at Spinasse and my third time doing the tasting menu. Every visit has been as good as the last. At Spinasse, you taste every dish on the menu when you do their tasting. Portions are generous. You can also expect impeccable service starting when you walk in the door.
Some of the most delicious Italian food I have ever had!
Made a special trip from Salt Lake City. Amazing and worth the trip.
The food was splendid, so was the service! Amazing experience!
Food did not live up to the hype. The service was quite good.
We came in with high expectations given the review on Spinsee's website that it is among the top 5 Italian Restaurants in the nation.
We ordered the Prosciutto and the Salad for first course. The Prosciutto was excellent, but the salad was a real disappointment. More like a potato salad that you can buy at grocery store rather than a restaurant's level dish.
For second course we ordered the handmade pasta in butter & sage. We also added truffles for extra $25 that were the special for the night. The pasta was soft and swimming in butter. almost like those kids style dishes you get around town. Sage wasn't noticed though the truffles were OK.
For main course we ordered the trout which was excellent.
For dessert we ordered the Tiramisu and the Chocolate Tart. Both were below standard. We sent the Tiramisu back to the kitchen.
Overall very disappointment experience.
We had a great meal with small portions but flavorful and very nicely done Italian foods. My boyfriend and I split three of the small pastas and each were packed with flavor and just the right textures.
Loved getting to spend the night out with friends. We tried every pasta dish on the menu and loved them all!
The food is so awesome !!!! Cannot wait to go back.
We felt we were well cared for, our experience was lovely, the food was delicious!
The restaurant was better than I hoped!! The waiter was wonderful and very knowledgeable. The food was excellent!!!
We flew in to Seattle with some friends to celebrate 30th Anniversary and a momentous birthday. Picked Spinasse based on reviews and location. There was nothing disappointing about this place. Our waiter was knowledgeable and very helpful with guidance on what to avoid due to gluten allergies. Everything we had exceeded our expectations. We will certainly return.
Great service. Our server was more than knowledgeable with everything he presented.
The food is always perfect. Don’t order, just let them tell you what to eat, it’s amazing.
Wonderful uncluttered food with vibrant tastes. Brilliant wine paring.
More variety with the menu! The sweetbreads were not edible. Wine list needs more variety too. Very pricey!!!
In a word....perfection. If this is your first time convince the table to do the tasting menu.
As always, Spinasse was excellent. Our main objection, which has become more and more of an issue over the last 2 years, is the value. The portion sizes are SO SMALL (except for the cheap stuff like the veggie side dishes, which are large). $32 for an entree of 3 rabbit meatballs! The "large" portions of the pasta were appetizer-sized -- I'd hate to see what the "small" portions look like. We really enjoyed our meal. However, afterwards we got some street tacos because we were still hungry...which is not OK when you're spending $200+ for 2 people. Love the food, love the service -- just please don't stiff us on the portion size!
The only reason I lowered the rating to 4 stars is that we were not told about the daily specials. After we finished eating, we overheard our waitress telling the couple next to us about the specials. They included something I would have ordered had I known about it. This is a sign of not very good service.
It's always delicious here. Their pasta is amazing.
Second best meal I’ve had in my life! Totally blown away by everything and LOVED sitting at bar watching the pasta being rolled and cut. Jose is a magician! The tajarins were as light as feathers but never got gummy. Simple, elegant delicious food.
Wonderful food, perfect ambiance. Best restaurant in Seattle!
Food was excellent! Creative offerings and the homemade pasta dishes were outstanding!
Spinasse is my favorite restaurant in the Seattle area. If anyone knows somewhere else that has romantic lighting and bar seating where you can watch your pasta being handmade in the kitchen before it comes out tasting like a piece of heaven, please let me know.
Great service, food and atmosphere! I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent waiter. Noticed one dish that wasn’t enjoyed in an otherwise wonderful meal and removed the charge from the bill.
Hadn’t dined there for sometime and will return soon.
Had three courses and EVERY BITE was scrumptious! I said to myself: "Why don't I eat here more often???!!" Delicious flavors and very fresh!
Absolutely amazing . Exceeded all expectations. Loved the tasting menu which includes a small ( actually pretty generous) portion of everything in the menu. We also did the wine parings . Our server was knowledgeable and attentive . Highlights are the incredible house made fresh pastas. They practically float off the plate. The rabbit meatballs and seared bistecci / steak were amazing . If u are in Seattle u have to go!!!
This is a place that you need to visit at least once in your life time. AMAZING!
Just wow. My husband and I enjoyed dinner here with my parents, who were visiting from the East Coast. My parents have traveled extensively in Italy and they were floored by the quality of the food, attentiveness of the service, and spot on recommendations for the pasta and wine. We could not have enjoyed this meal more. We enjoyed the Ragu so much that we ordered an extra half portion after finishing the first portion. A very special dinner with top-notch food. Highly recommended.
Spinasse is an excellent Italian Restaurant, with excellent service & outstanding food.
Spinasse is a fabulous Italian restaurant. The made in-house pasta is spectacular. Sit at the counter some time and watch them hand cut it from sheets of pasta. Or watch them slice the prosciutto. The drinks are perfect. The wine list is great. Deserts are wonderful. I have been there several times and it makes a trip to Seattle worth it.
Great Food and Service!
