Welcoming staff including the owner. Food reasonable quality (but very good value) . Reasonable selection of drinks, maybe slightly disappointing (no non-alcoholic beers or spirits, only a couple of ales). Excellent location and nice atmosphere. Lots of families (Sunday afternoon). Note that baby change is only accessible in the ladies' loo so if you are a dad on your own as my friend was you will be stuck or will have to commandeer a space outside!

Booked a table for 8pm, arrived and no one there to seat us, so we found a table and looked for staff to check we were ok to sit there. Long queue at bar but managed to grab a girl who was cleaning tables in the end. She told us we had until 9 to order food. At 8.15 went to the bar to order our food and was only then told the kitchen closed at 8! Wouldn't do anything for us to be able to eat, and we were so hungry at this point! I don't know why the system allowed a table to be booked at 8 if the kitchen shut!

Been here before with no problem but this particular visit was quite disappointing. Ordered 2 jacket potatoes which had to go back as they were luke warm, and one of the toppings was meant to be tuna and mayonnaise but there was hardly any tuna in, the *mayo* tasted strange. The chef came to see me to tell me it was her own recipe and she puts other things in, this is not quoted on the menu and concerned me in case there was allergies for future diners. Disappointing as I had taken my sister and niece who don't live in the area. Helpful barmaid however.

Excellent customer service, all the staff were very friendly.The manager even brought cake out for my sons birthday which was very unexpected. The area we sat in was beautiful and over looked the water, it could have done with some music in the room as it was very quiet. The food came out fast and very fresh.

I'm a regular customer at The Pilot Inn. Change in ownership is very visible. Food massively improved, and coffee is to die for. Portions are nice and big, full of flavour. Literally, in the last 4 days, we have been eating there 3 times.
