Excellent service all the way around. Our waiter was knowledgeable and very efficient. He was right there when needed time and discrete at other times. I highly recommend Vinology
We were seated near the bar. Waiter seemed uninterested in his job. Not very helpful. Food was ok but showed signs of being put together with little care - high chunks of spinach in the gnocchi, tacos with not additional toppings, salmon skin side up etc. Overall not a great experience especially compared to other tremendous restaurants we have dined at in Ann Arbor.
Had a lovely time. Ambiance in bar area (where we were seated with reservations) was nice - not crowded so not loud. Service was attentive and friendly. Food was good and presented well. Manager coming to wish our guest a Happy Birthday (as we put it in our notes) was a nice touch.
Would return for a glass of wine and appetizer in the future.
Wait staff was extremely condescending. Will not return and will submit a review that reflects the rude service we received.
It’s hard to satisfy a group of foodies with diverse allergy needs. Our dinner at Vinology was a great fit! We’ll be back.
Also, good for a glass of wine & quick bite at the bar- but that really depends on who’s Bartending and how attentive they are.
Wonderful evening! The menu featured many clever and superbly executed dishes. The owner/manager stopped by our table to wish my neice a happy birthday and we had a great conversation about food and wine. An,excellent, culinary experience that I would definitely come back to again!
Eggs were over done on 2 of our dishes 4 dishes. Otherwise was excellent.
Enjoyed Sunday brunch during parents' weekend. Great spicy bloodies and some deadly roasted/fried potatoes (though tasted the garlic for hours afterwards). Very friendly, genuine service and great ambiance. Would definitely come back.
Vinology was good. We went for brunch on parents weekend. The omelette was great and I had the garden salad which was beautiful. My daughter had the huevos rancheros which were also good. The eggs benedict was aweful. Overall I would try it again.
Eclectically delicious menu! Fun atmosphere and very good service.
I went to Vinology with my wife for our wedding anniversary dinner. The atmosphere was great, we got seated at a good table which wasn’t near any high traffic areas but wasn’t totally secluded either. They have a great wine selection. The service was very good and the quality of food was excellent. The ingredients were fresh and the taste was amazing! I would highly recommend this place!
Very nice wine list (by glass, 1/2 bottle carafe and bottle) and a variety of large and small plates. We really liked the baked brie and the duck wings. Short rib tacos were just okay. Very nice, relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely go back.
Lots of fun! Energetic. Very accommodating to our
one year old granddaughter! Generous portions with an eclectic menu. Delicious!
The service, location and wine selection make this a restaurant worth a try. Unfortunately, the food fell flat for us. The flavors were not there for us. With so many place to go in Ann Arbor, we may just stop in for a drink’
Made the most of being put by the restrooms and kitchen
Great food, great service, nice to meet the owner — we will return.
Staff was friendly and fun and having a good time.
Can't wait to be back.
Spectacular! magical :)
Vinology never disappoints! Food is awesome, service is great and the wine selection is outstanding
The last two times at Vinology had bee quite good, which is why we decided to got again with another couple. The place is hopping and the noise level very night; this has become a very popular restaurant in Ann Arbor. But with the exception of a very good and reasonably priced bottle of Rhône red, the food was not especially creative or tasty. The gnocchi was overburdened with all the vegetables they had in the kitchen. My large plate salmon was underdone and it’s presentation still suffered from “vertical food” syndrome. The asparagus was too large, and it’s ends were not peeled. The service was chatty but inadequate. I would’ve liked to send back the salmon for more cooking, but waiter did not show up. Nor did he bring us bread or s/p when we asked for them. Not a repeat.
four meals, all were marginal at best and very expensive.
Vinology has more than great wine. Their food is creative and delicious
Amazing food and wine! Really enjoyed it! It's a bit pricy, but we'll worth the nice experience.
Wow, our food was outstanding! Had the octopus, ribeye entree, salmon entree, and sweet potato themed dessert. We didn’t like the first bottle of wine as it was no problem to get a different one which we liked. The service was great.
We always try to visit Vinology when in Ann Arbor. Excellent wine list and very good food.
They were out of many things on the menu. Our server was pretty rude and made us feel like we were an inconvenience. The entrees were not very good. I would only ever return for a drink, not dinner.
When the plates arrived we thought they forgot to put the food on it. The sizes were ridiculously small. I ended up eating all the bread with butter for dinner...
First, it was really cold in there. Uncomfortable. Second, the server wasn’t really helpful with questions and seemed like he didn’t really want to be there. Finally, the food was a miss. The gnocchi needed some sauce but there were way to many flavors going like leave out the anise. Other dishes were likewise lacking or trying to hard.
We’ve had one good experience here. And about 5 blah ones.
The deconstructed Caesar salad was lousy. The rib eye was expensive, small and drenched in sauce. The main course came within 5 minutes of the appetizers do they just threw everything in the table. Overall expensive and a very mediocre dining experience.
We ordered Caesar salad, heirloom tomato salad, short rib tacos, Greek octopus, and finished with ice cream. Everything was good.
Great little find on Main st in Ann Arbor. We like to go get mimosas for brunch. They are good for food allergies and will work with your needs. Also vegetarian options! We like the wine flights and sitting outside watching the world go by!
Wonderful anniversary dinner! Thank you!
We dine out a lot so our views may be skewed. It was loud but it is a bistro type place. We do not drink alcohol therefore the wine was not a factor. Service was really good. Phil! First salads were tomatoes that were not ripe. Sent back. Second salads were lovely in presentation but mediocre in taste. The entrees were beautiful but very average tasting. (Chops and scallops.) Flatbread with figs, outstanding. Very high price for what we were served. We are not averse to paying a lot for good food so you are not putting us in the poor house (dated phrase if there ever was one). See you in 5 years.
I went for my 5yr anniversary recently, and not only did the staff take care to mention us well wishes on our special day, but to thank us for our patronage. The entire restaurant was very clean and the atmosphere is very versatile. I could see going for brunch or afternoon drinks, as well as a big tapas dinner with friends, and an intimate meal. I really like what they have created here.
Also, my girlfriend is vegetarian and we found at least a third of the menu worked for her needs. This is a great spot in downtown Ann Arbor!
I choose this restaurant over others because the menu seemed unique and I always love a good wine list. We shared a few things including the cheese board, the tacos, and an entee and overall the food was very tasty. The wine list was also impressive and we both found flights and glasses that were really delicious. I probably won’t come back to this restaurant because the overall ambiance seemed nice at first, but we got stuck at the worst table in the restaurant. Nicer restaurants like this can totally ruin the experience when you get stuck in a cold corner between the exterior walls. It just wasn’t the nice dinner date ambiance we were hoping for. Plus there’s so many other restaurants in this town that provide a better overall experience.
We had an okay meal this time at Vinology the food was a tad cold and service was just average, love the ambiance and bar vibe but not sure we will go back
Attentive and knowledgeable server. Very good food (brie, octopus, beef, tomato and goat cheese salad, very good chicken preparation!) Excellent wine choices and advice!
The atmosphere was energetic with a decor in keeping with the name. The noise level could get very loud when nearby tables get noisy (bachelorette party). In keeping with the name, Vinology, I would expect that appropriate white wine glasses should be available. The waiter checked for us, but none were carried and we drank our white wine from very large red wine glasses.
Service is poor
The service was great, food at par, ambience was decent and overall experience was okay for the price.
