   The sword fish was tough n dry. The mussels small. The server is very nice.

   Had the muscles. Absolutely delicious. Just as good as in Belgium. Served with frites and delicious bread. Started with a salad but it wasn't necessary. Sat outside on the deck. Really enjoyed it and will go back.

   Used to go to Tapenade on a regular basis and thought we would try the New Well Tavern..sort of a last minute reservation on a warm Sunday evening.. we were actually quite surprised by the menu,, there were enough choices for everyone's taste,,we had a beet salad which was quite large and had a lot of beets my husbands arulgula salad was also very large and both were excellent,, we had the prawns to start,, they were yummy. We did not feel like a full dinner so we then ordered the poutine ,, quite good and sort of a baddie and we also ordered the escargot which again were quite good..Looking for some extensions on the main meal portion of the menu,, not into fried chicken but I am sure they will evolve and serve appropriate dishes the longer they are around,,we have far too many casual places in Steveston all serving similar types of food..we look forward in going back and hoping to try the dinner menu next time and looking forward in some more fish dishes etc.

   My friends and I thought we would try this new restaurant in Steveston. Three of us had the Cannelloni which was delicious 😋. Came with a small salad and a little loaf of bread sliced thinly. I ate it all. Service was slow as they definitely didn't have enough staff. Wine 🍷 $5 a glass until 5pm.

   We have been to Tapenade for years and were open to trying New Well Tavern for Mother's Day. While most of us enjoyed the food, the more casual atmosphere made it less special and yet we were paying the same amount as before. Not saying we won't ever be back, but there are lots of places that are casual that we would want to try.

   I had the clam chowder for an appy. It came with delicious warm bread. Main course was their feature roast lamb. Very good and the vegetables that came with it were fresh and hot.

   The food is great and the musician sounded fabulous but the noise level was very high. That made it very difficult to carry on a conversation during our valentine's dinner.

   Tapenade was 1 of our "go back to " restaurant. We thought we would give this one a try since it is still the same owner(we think) even though we dislike the name. BTW this place does not look anything like a Tavern.... The service was excellent but the food was slow to come even though the place had only 2 other tables with customers.My risotto was tasty but lukewarm, we asked for very crispy fries and they were not. So overall, we were not impressed and it is unlikely that we will go back.
