Always a great experience with a meal at Nicola’s. Max and his team are the best! The food, service and drink are the best in Legacy!
Exceptional service. Well prepared food with quality ingredients.
You can actually hear everyone at your table
The food was very good. The night we were there, it was our server's first night and they seemed under-staffed for the number of guests. So, the service was a bit slow but overall we had a very nice time.
Limited menu, bruschetta was rock hard, bread should be softer, entree was very spicy (description didn’t say spicy). Replacement bolganese was very good but probably won’t return.
Good food, great environment, ambiance and lighting.
It is a great place to spend a saturday night.
Loved our experience!
We had never been here despite living nearby for almost 12 years, and now I wish I had tried it sooner. The food was excellent and the service was attentive and knowledgeable. Our waiter made several suggestions from the menu for us newcomers. We will definitely be back.
Great food and atmosphere. The service is always amazing! Love this place!
Service and my meal selection ruined dinner.
I guess you don’t go to an Italian joint and order fish
Once again great evening with delicious menu. Place was crowded and service was great. Glad to see the restaurant crowded again
We ordered the beet salad which was very good. I did not care for the bucatini. The calamari in it was tough and I just didn't care for the flavor. Cappuccino was delicious. My date asked to have half his meal served to him and the other half in a to go box. The entire entree was served to him with an empty to go box. He asked to have it split as he had asked before. This was done but took about 15 minutes to get that done and Parmesan cheese for the dish causing his entree to have to be reheated. It seemed the service was provided by several people and they didn't know what each other was doing. Everyone was very nice but seemed a bit disorganized.
This place has a great look, an intimate bar, very reasonable wine prices by the bottle with some very good labels. Overall, I would give it 5 stars except they were a little heavy handed with the garlic.
My Chioppino was excellent. My wife’s salmon was mediocre.
Every time I dine with Nicola’s, I have a great experience. The food, ambiance and service is top notch. I love Nicola’s!
Had forgotten how great this restaurant is; the food is delicious and is a good value as well. All our entrees were great and our waiter did not pressure us to free up the table. We will definitely return soon!!!
The restaurant seems "tired" and frayed. It's obviously seen better days.
The food was not bad, but nothing special. We had the Bucatini/seafood which was decent and flavorful. Also, the Chicken Piccata was pretty good. The desserts were not very good.
As for the experience, it was quite underwhelming. We arrived at 6:30, our reserved time, and the place was mostly empty. The "host?" greeted us and tried to seat us at a booth/table right near, and facing, the front door. The entire restaurant was available and he wanted to seat us in probably the worst table in the house. Even more interesting was that the table wasn't even set. There was nothing on it. I suggested a different table in a somewhat better location and the greeter did accommodated us. However, I would expect this type of misstep at an Applebee's, not a so-called upscale restaurant on Bishop in Frisco. Especially one whose entrees range from $20 to $50.
Once seated, we had a full view of the open kitchen where all 5 cooks were standing in a line staring out into the dining room and talking. The rest of the team, including the waiters were also standing around nearby, with some of them leaning against the walls, looking like they would much rather be someplace else. When we were nearly finished with our meal, the manager strolled past our table, barely looked at us, and without pausing for a single beat said "was your meal good?" as he just kept right on walking. I actually laughed out loud.
And finally, I have to say I also was blown away with paying $17 dollars for a Manhattan. Seventeen dollars for a single cocktail?! In Frisco? I've dined at the finest restaurants in New York and LA, and haven't paid that much. Close, but not that.
It was a disappointing, and expensive, experience overall and sorry, I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend.
The menu and service has been consistently outstanding for many years. It is one of our favorite restaurants because the food is excellent and the service by Max and his staff of Reid, Azire, Lexie, and every team member is friendly and professional. 5 Star in every way and a dining experience we would recommend to everyone.
I met some friends after work for dinner and drinks. We had a nice table outside and the service was great. We had Caesar Salad, Chicken Picatta, Chicken Lasagna and Shrimp Pasta. We all loved our food.
Not as flavorful or special as when we were there 2 yrs ago.
1st time dining with them in August. Glad we did. Zucchini is excellent, filet special perfectly cooked. And veal picotta was great. Nicola’s is one of our favorite dining spots and tonight’s dinner reminded us why.
Made a reservation online, they have an additional comment section and I requested a candle, they brought a candle so my table is the only one with a real candle, which is nice. Attentive servers, gracious Hostess, overall great experience.
Met an old friend there for dinner. Service, food and ambiance continue to be top notch at Nicola’s.
Food was fine, service was fine. Everything was fine. Not a bad meal by any means, but not worth the price.
Great dinner. Authentic homemade pasta. Veal picatta perfectly cook will come back again
I went during the afternoon. My boyfriend and I met up for lunch. We got to sit in on of the booths along the wall. It was very private and even romantic. It was a nice little escape in the middle of the day. I went back to work relaxed and refreshed. I was very happy. And my waiter was great, super sweet!
The food and service were impeccable. I am new to the area and have quickly made Nicola’s my favorite place.
This was first and last time to eat here. I should have read reviews before ordering. I had a seafood dish and one of my mussels was “bad” (spoiled). Other reviews mention “newer” restaurants not being as good, I highly recommend those other restaurants over Nicola’s.
Over the past 3 months we have dined at all of the new Italian spots in Plano, Frisco & North Dallas. For quality of food, service and $$ value, Nicola’s was and is still our favorite Italian spot. Yes, you can head over to the trendy Legacy west or up to the Star but in the end, you’ll leave those new spots feeling rushed, with a so so feeling on food and service quality (you’ll maybe even use the well versed excuses, they’re new and need to work out the kinks). As for my wife and I, we prefer the consistency and quality of Nicolas.
Loved Nicola’s. The food was excellent and the service was spot on.
Service was great, but we were the only ones in the restaurant. A couple at the bat, I think. Food was not that great, somewhat tasteless. Restaurant was clean and quiet.
Excellent food and great, friendly service
Nicola's is the gold standard for a romantic night out. We celebrate the anniversary of our first date there every year, and it is consistently delicious.
Food and service was great!
Ate here this past Friday and has been the case for the past 10 years food and service were great. We have tried all the “new” places, North Italia, DaMario and the slew of other places that have recently opened up in the area and while these new places appear to be the latest and greatest, Nicola’sh is simply the best. We call it our “steady eddie”. No surprises, great food, great service and great value for our money. The thrill of the newness will wear off and like us people will long for the comfort of Nicolas.
Drinks are good, but pricey. Stick with known dishes, seafood special was very fishy. Great service. For some reason, didn't get points on Open table for my reservation :/
We had a fabulous dining experience..our server was Reid and he was terrific !!!
Great atmosphere and surroundings. Superb service. Beautifully plated meals.
Excellent food great service! Would visit again
