   We usually always have a good dining experience at Brandl.Not this time around. Service was good, nice atmosphere,but the dinners were OVER SALTED. My wife’s Mahi was too salty, but edible. My Scallops were way too SALTY, inedible. We talked to the Manager who was very nice as usual, and he removed the Scallops from the bill, offered to make another dish,but at this time my wife was almost done. He did try my Scallops and agreed it was way too SALTY. We will come back and I’m sure we will enjoy it once again. Chef had a heavy hand and hopefully will correct it.

   First time here and was pleasantly surprised. Heard a lot of good things about Brandl but wanted to judge for myself. Not a flashy dining room but they hit on the fundamentals. Great food, great service and very pleasant and friendly atmosphere. BYOB came in very handy to offset the high(ish) prices. Still no complaints. Will return.

   Nice BYOB - great wait staff and chef! The food is always delicious. It has a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere with seating inside, and outside in the warmer weather. Definitely a place the locals go!

   As per usual, we had an amazing meal. After decades of being in business, it’s only gotten better - if you could even imagine. The Foi Gras melted in your mouth. The dessert was decedent. Can’t wait for our next meal.

   Vincent was our waiter and he did a great job. We were a party 06 celebrating my mom‘s 84th birthday. Three of us ordered filet mignon medium. We ordered it all the same way. One came out medium the other two well done. We sent two of them back. We waited 20 minutes for them to re-cook them and they came out super rare. We sent them back and asked for them to be removed from the bill. Vincent was apologetic And comped us coffees for the table. Still didn’t change the fact that the chef doesn’t know how to cook a filet mignon medium. This really isn’t a difficult task.

   Horrible experience. Had a 7:30 reservation and didn’t get seated until almost 8. There was a line over 10 people deep waiting at the hostess stand to be seated the entire time we were dining. We ordered a porterhouse for two and what came out was two thin separate T-bone steaks, that looked like they came from ShopRite. Horrible quality. The creamed spinach was burnt so bad it would not even scape off the cast iron pan it was cooked in, inedible. Extremely disappointed with the quality and prep of the food and EXTREMELY overpriced. Would not recommend.

    Thankfully it’s a BYOB because the food is poor. 7pm reservation waited 50 mins for food that was sub par. Avoid the seafood especially but the worst dish was lobster bisque.

    We went to Brandl for Valentines Day and did not have a great experience at all. They had a special menu that night, $95 per person which was way too over priced for the small portions you were given. It was obvious they over extended themselves on reservations as multiple couples waited over an hour past their reservation time, and the food came out lukewarm at best. It was the first and only time we’ll be dining at this restaurant.

    Unfortunately this was not a good experience. I chose this restaurant for my daughters birthday afrer going with a friend for burger night. My first time was very pleasent, service good and food excellent. On a good note they have one of the best french onion soups I have ever had. This visit was very different. Although the manager was very nice as we were waiting for our table once seated he never came back over. The waitress proceeded to open a bottle of champagne with bottle tilted toward the table , no cloth napkin covering as she untwisted the cork metal with no concern that the cork could go flying. I handed her the cloth napkin and she did open the bottle away from the table. This may have been why our service was poor. Perhaps she wasn't happy I asked her to be more careful. The food was delivered promply . The soup was delicous and so were the potstickers. The meals were all alright, nothing special for $55 dollar meals but the main problem was server never came back to ask how our food was.The manager never came by either. I believe they were in the kitchen most of the time. Two of us ordered filet and one was over cooked. As the server rarely came back to the table to check on us my guest did not enjoy his meal. I had brought a cake for my daughters birthday with candles it was completly overloooked until I reminded the server I brought it in. The restaurant was not full and even if the food was not great however more attentive type of service could have changed the whole experience.

    The food was amazing it was the wait with a reservation .I made the reservation on open table for 7:30 .We arrived and were ignored and told that everyone had reservation in a rude manor. We waited over 45 mins to sit . Would i go there again probably not .Not one person was apologetic about the wait and it’s really to bad because the food was great.

    My Birthday is February 13, so for years my wife and I have gone out to a better restaurant, or a new restaurant to celebrate my birthday and Valentine's Day. Brandl came highly recommended and it met all expectations!! I'm sure we will be back even on a non special occasion.

    They charge a credit card convenience fee without disclosure in violation of N.J.S.A. 56:8-2.33(a). Nothing noted on the menu, the door, or the check-in table. Otherwise, it was fine.

    This restaurant consistently over books on weekends. People are often standing for a long time waiting for host to acknowledge them and check them in. The food is great but the host and lack of customer service for people checking in is disappointing.

    My boyfriend and I have been here a few times and we are always blown away with everything. The food and service is amazing. Everything cooked to perfection. And the dessert was just incredible! Love this place!

    While ordering we asked our server Vincent not rush out our food where his response was I know what I’m doing. Ok We order French onion soup and a wedge salad for starters, $140 porter house for two and creamed spinach. Barely had two bites into our soup and salad out comes a bus person asking if we are done. No we are not. Two bites later Vincent has our spinach in his hands. I then remind him we asked you to be slow. Vincent then blames the kitchen staff. Which we all know the server is the one who tells the kitchen when to fire the dinners food. He then gets an attitude and walks away mumbling something. I ask for a manager. Vincent then from a cross the dining room says get him yourself. We promptly gather our belongings and exit. I go back in and ask to see the manager. Paul and I talk outside. I express my disappointment and he agrees with me he asks if we would like to come back in. We refuse. I hand Paul $40 cash and we leave. We don’t blame Brandl but we can’t recommend the either.     BRANDL Is one of my favorite NJ Shore area restaurants! The food is not what you will find at other restaurants - ambiance is very artsy/ eclectic and our servers are great!

    Excellent food and service! A guitarist played live music near our table, and the sound was pleasant and not overwhelming. We were a party of 10, and the service was great, as was the food. I definitely recommend Brandl and will return.

    Overall, 3.5 out of 5. Food was good to very good, service was terrible and everything was very overpriced. Started with the potsticker of the day - short rib and caramelized onion. They were very good but the sauce was a touch too sweet for my tastes. French Onion soup was very good. I really like the bread they used, although the portion was very small, especially considering the price ($14). Wedge salad had nice chunks of pork belly instead of crumbled bacon. Crispy exterior, soft interior, really well executed. Pickled onions were a nice balance. The "Caesar" salad was disappointing for a high-end restaurant. Entrees were ok. Ribeye special was very good, cooked as ordered. Braised short rib was tough, really had to saw at it to separate the meat. Flavors were good though. Finished with the dark chocolate souffle, which you have to order when you order your apps as it takes 45 minutes to prepare. It was a decent chocolate dessert if a bit dry, nothing special and definitely not worth $27. Now the bad stuff. Service was horrible. Place was not busy, maybe 5 or 6 tables occupied when we came in, all but one just two people. Waiter brought water and opened our wine (it's BYO) quickly, then we sat. And sat. And sat. Finally placed our orders. Didn't check on us once when the food came out. When it was time to pay, I provided him with a coupon (BOGO entree up to $35), 2 gift cards worth $100 and my credit card. He came back and I saw he had charged my credit card the entire amount. I pointed out the gift cards and the coupon and he apologized profusely. Said he never does that. Took it back, rang it up again, applied the gift cards but didn't apply the coupon. Stapled it to the check tho. Apologized again and said he'd give us a $35 gift card, which I'll probably never use. Total bill with tip was over $250, which is insane for a BYO place. Our favorite steakhouse won't cost this much with a couple drinks thrown in. Overall, cannot recommend.

    Had an excellent Christmas Eve dinner with our daughter and husband. In spite of a totally fulll restaurant the services was top notch. Would definitely recommend and we will be back soon.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our initial visit to Brandl. Our two steaks were perfectly cooked, tasty and tender. The service was professional and friendly. A meal is not complete without coffee and dessert. The cappuccino was very good and the Creme Brulee was outstanding. By the way, it is a BYOB establishment. A very nice dinning experience!

    My friend and I purposely went to Brandl’s to have their Wednesday night special for $25.00,which was a lobster roll with wedge fries. Everything was exceptional! The service as usually was also exceptional!
