Sanderlings - Seascape Resort
The clam chowder was great!!!! I was not real happy with my shrimp dish, not a lot of flavor and something I could have done at home. I love the Hotel and the convenience of staying on site to eat a nice meal, but next time I might try somewhere different. The menu was very limited.
Attentive service, beautiful location with ocean/sunset view, and very good food.
We had a reservation at 10:30 am for brunch, we got there on time and was seated right away. However took the waitress 15 min before she came to take our orders. After waiting 30 minutes for food we ask the waitress to check our orders. We finally got our food at 11:30 am, 45 minutes after we had ordered. After we paid we asked the waitress changed for a $20 bill. We waited another 15 minutes, no change and waitress. Finally track her down and asked her again for our change and she had forgot. The views was excellent and the weather was great thought.
We waited an hour and forty five minutes for our food. Service was unacceptable. We walked out without eating. We had s glass of wine and bread and just waited.
The salad was soggy -
Seascape is a scenic resort by the sea for sure, no one can doubt that. However, I think more could be done in the rooms and in the lounge area, both with the use of color and more updated modern decor to make the place look a little more refined and elegant. This goes the same for the rooms which could use more color, and more creative design and decoration. Our room was a studio and had a nice oceanic view. However, the floor was completely hard wood, and the floor was very dirty and seemed like it had not been mopped in months. We got dirty feet while walking around with our shoes off. Really? Hmmm. Overall, the food was good at the restaurant. However, it took staff about 5 minutes to seat us. Once we were seated, we sat there for another 5-7 minutes and no one approached us for table service. Really? I had to actually get up and find the wait staff. There needs to be more effort put on customer service at Sanderlings. Also the restaurant could use complete service and decor and design make-over. The design is not an effective use of the space, and though the food is good, the dining room is quite dull and lacks elegant ambiance.
Our lunch was delicious and the servers very attentive and gracious. A couple of people in our group made specific requests which were handled very well by the kitichen. Definitely planning a return visit sometime soon. Thank you.
Great view! Nice staff!
The view of the ocean and sunset is fabulous - just be prepared that there is often an event with a crowd of people in your view. The fuel driven golf carts pass by often with celebrating guests and leave unpleasant fumes behind. Wonder why they don’t use electric carts to avoid this unpleasant smell that interrupts a lovely setting. This place could be great with a few adjustments. Food is good, wait staff attentive and friendly. The bar tender did t know what a “Seabreeze” was - really? A mixed experience this time.
Great service, wonderful view of the ocean, good food. The menu has lots of choices and there are specials too. We go early and there's always room plus it's quiet and we get a great table with the best view.
Beautiful setting, service is almost always subpar. They don't care because it is busy due to the beautiful venue. We've been going to this resort and restaurant for years. We go because we love the setting, but the service is not good. The food is mediocre. Best to stick with the burgers and omlettes.
Very nice location, view, and the food was good and reasonably priced - however, the highlight of our lunch was the extraordinary and friendly staff. Our waiter Jon was attentive, without being overbearing, and I think had most of the tables in a moderately busy restaurant, and although I noticed, it was because we felt well taken care of, in spite of his being busy.
Reasonable selection for the Sunday brunch, well priced.
Have eaten there several times and again food and .service was great, great place to take family and friends
Loved the view !
We stopped on the way back from the Monterey/Pacific Grove area and just loved it. Food was good and our server (sorry, can't remember her name) was excellent. My daughter wanted steak, which is not on the kids' menu, and they were able to accommodate her. My wife and I each had the Restless Burger, which was amazing. The place was quiet and not super-busy. Made for a relaxing dinner after a busy day. We will definitely be going back!
Wonderful view from patio. Service friendly and just right. Delicious lunch
I think the patio is the best outdoor dining on the Santa Cruz coast. The view of the beach is just great and yet has some protection from any wind. The service is gracious and efficient. The food is delicious. It is a very relaxing, welcoming place to spend the afternoon. Very good value.
expensive for two salads, 2 glasses of wine, 1 dessert. $91
Great food! Great views!
Spent 2 hours there. 20 minutes of it actually eating the meal. Time waiting for service was unreasonable.
The food came out very quick. I guess I was expecting a little more in the way of presentation. But it was still good.
average food. poor table service (maybe students from local culinary class at Cabrillo). fairly decent ambiance. very noisy
The service was beyond terrible. We had 1:30 business lunch reservations. I booked it weeks in advance and confirmed the day prior. Food was delivered at 2:50p.m. It took about 45 mins for our drinks to be served. It was a special work lunch for our team and unfortunately the service made it a less than ideal meal for us.
Lovely day so had lunch on the patio. Waitress was adorable and so very friendly and hospitable, my poke bowl was delicious and my friend really enjoyed her petrale sole. We had to ask for bread but just considered it wise food management not to automatically provide. Yummy selection of small breads so didn't feel too guilty having one of each. Haven't been for quite a while and was glad for the reminder of how delightful Sanderlings is.
We love the view, the food is great and the service is excellent.
Anniversary dinner they did not know. Tried to set us at a tiny corner table instead of a large one next to us not occupied. Wife had ravioli butternut squash which came in a soup bowl full of broth with can corn on the top. I asked for a pink color steak, which came over well done, it was sent back. Terrible experience we have had several nice ones in the past apparently they have a new Chef. Will not go again.
Wonderful experience. We had the specials, both excellent.
Had a great time and the food was awesome had a little problem with the online and onsite reservations (confirmed by my email) not being identical but the managers fixed it and we were seated right away.
Had a great time. Lots of fireworks and friendly people.
The $22 Crab Louie was expensive, but totally worth it. Lots of crab!!! Bummer that they removed the panchetta wrapped prawns from the menu. Otherwise, the salads we had were really good!
Have eaten there many times food and service have always been good the times I have been ther
My husband and I had a lovely Father’s Day brunch on the patio...very nice service and reasonable pricing with good food.
The food was rather poor in quality given the price. The flavor combinations were off, the temperature of the food was only warm and the general quality of the ingredients was average. The 42$ halibut “soecial” was barely edible and I left the majority of the fish on the plate as it had no flavor, was dry and coated in a chutney that was way too sweet. Overall a rather unsavory dish at any price. The papardelle pasta was coated in poor quality pesto and soggy vegetables as well.
Jon was our waiter and was excellent! Had a very enjoyable brunch outdoors in beautiful weather with great view of Monterey Bay.
We went here for Sunday brunch to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and were disappointed. The dining room is average although the big windows have a nice view of the cypress trees. I ordered fish and chips and I have to say I have never had such chewy cod. My son had shrimp cocktail and he said it did not taste fresh. My husband had the brunch buffet which he said was just o.k. but definitely overpriced. We had eaten here long ago and had fond memories but we will never go again.
Great service! Menu was a bit pricey but good. Children's menu was really pricey & the steak offered for the children's menu was $27.00 & not very good. Our dog benefited from left overs😳
The food quality for our group overall was decent but I ordered a medium rare rib eye that was served WELL done, which taints my personal opinion. They offered me a new steak but since the original order took 45 minutes between appetizer and main I opted to just take the credit for my meal.
Excellent food and service. Ate out on the patio overlooking the ocean...just beautiful. Highly recommend!
Mother’s Day great Buffett
For the price the food was mediocre- why to pricy for a brunch
Good food at a good price
