Always a great experience at Taps !! Great food and service! The remodel is beautiful!!
The food is always fantastic at this restaurant and the service is usually outstanding as well. The only reason I rated the overall rating very good instead of outstanding was due to the fact that our waiter did not come around very often and had to wait for to place our order and to get refills. Every other time I have visited this restaurant, the waiters and waitresses were constantly checking to make sure we were not in need of anything, but unfortunately this time the service was not the same.
Service was very good. All the food that was in the hot trays was cold. Table bussers kept coming by to ask if they could take our plates while we were still eating - felt very rushed
Food as always was excellent. Had the Chilean Sea Bass, and it was perfect, the Lobster Tail cooked perfectly, cocktails, appetizers were all excellent. The service was great, Taps so far has never disappointed.
We have been here a few times now. Today for lunch, our waitress was bad. She really made us wait. My old fashion cocktail took at least 10 minutes to come to our table. The restaurant was nearly empty on a Saturday at 1:44pm. Our bread and my wife's Coke took even longer. Then she eventually took our order. We ordered a bowl of lobster bisque, BLT sandwich, side Cesar salad, and fish and chips. By the time our food came out, we were done with our bread and lobster bisque. Our waitress never checked on us if our food tasted fine. I have been to lower cost restaurants that offer five-star service. At least our food tasted delicious. Our waitress just sucked! I hope our we have a better waitress or waiter on my birthday coming up.
Ran out of Crown Royal and tbey wouldn't walk across the street to a local store to reup nor would they let me buy my own bottle and let them charge me their prices to drink it. Excellent place. Anal management.
The food is always fantastic and the service is outstanding as well.
Good Food and Good Service are usually very consistent. I really like that servers don't ignore tables in case we need something. Very good at checking back routinely.
Front receptionist to servers always do their best to accommodate preferences.
I really like that many of the staff recognize us. Nice touch!
Love this place , I'm from corona área my family an I visita the one in dos lagos we Love it there...when we want to celebrate something on my family we choose Tap's is Airways the best....Love it...thanks for the great idea of having a Tap's in my city...on my way home i stop at the one in irvine for Happy h. Love it....
Addison Was a wonderful server. He knew the menu well and helped us with selecting items. He made our birthday celebration very special.
Our reservation was screwed up and had to wait for a table. I had the confirmation on my computer but did not have it with me when I arrived. They said I had no reservation and I had to wait for a crappy table just to accommodate me.
Aside from that. The dining was good. Had Malpeque oysters on the halfshell. They were very fresh/good considering they were from the east coast. Also very expensive. Our entrees were delicious. I had the U10 diver scallops over a cheese polenta. and pork belly Brussels sprouts w/ cilantro chimichurri at 34.99 was fabulous. Also had the MACADAMIA NUT-CRUSTED ROCKFISH 28.99-Roasted garlic mashed potatoes, fresh buttered asparagus, Maine lobster brandy cream. which was also very good. Would have liked a better table though.
Our server was great, the food was a little disappointing. Some of the dishes were great, others not so much. For the price you pay I guess I was expecting more, I would go back and try one more time just to compare.
We had a wonderful time for Sunday Brunch. The food was delicious and plentiful. We really enjoyed the service from Brooke our server. She was professional, engaging and timely. We will be back.
The brunch was so delicious. Just loved the fried calamari and veggies. The small cinnamon pecan rolls were so good. I ordered the sous vide eggs with short ribs, bacon and grits, they were the best grits I have had. I could just go on and on. Me and my husband enjoyed everything we had. We will be back.
Have been to Taps many times. Food is not spectacular but it rarely is in a buffet brunch. Service was outstanding.
We've eaten at Taps several times and it's a big treat. It's pricey but once in awhile we splurge. We would more often if not for the prices. Food was great as always.
Everything was excellent. Especially our Server. She was very attentive.
Service was not up to par. Artichoke was good but very small for price.
Service was excellent because the staff was always there whenever you needed something.
I HAD THE ALMOND ROCKFISH IN THE PAST AND IT WAS BETTER FLAVOR THE FIRST TIME THEN THIS TIME. THIS TIME SEEMS TO BE PREPARED DIFFERENTLY. I DO NOT RECAL THE SAUSC THE PREVIOUS TIME AND IF THERE WAS AN ALMOND ON THIS TIME I DID NOT SEE IT.
Our waiter Brooke was awesome and the menu was amazing I can't wait to go back! And BTW the champagne is so good! They serve one of the best champagnes Wycliffe
We celebrated our Anniversary this week at Taps. Food was delicious and we had great service.
Michael was an awesome waiter. Even if it was brunch he definitely went above and beyond!
Taps is one of our go to local restaurants and has been for years. Great food, especially seafood, top-notch beers and a relaxing atmosphere.
Went here for brunch, the choices are good, although the Irvine location has crab legs and here doesn't. The oyster was far from considering fresh, stomachache afterward
My wife and I have made a tradition to go here for our anniversary. The food is great and the service is always spectacular. They just recently finished a remodel. Looks great while still keeping the charm of the original decor. We hear the Sunday brunch is amazing, so that's one thing we would like to try. Not drinkers, but also hear that the beer selection is pretty amazing as well.
Have gone to this location since it opened twenty years ago. Unfortunately, things have really gone downhill with their Sunday Brunch which use to be the best in Orange County. Lot's of cutbacks in selections and items not as fresh (especially the oysters). Will not go to this location for Sunday Brunch again. Hopefully, the Irvine location is better.
I used to love coming here for Sunday brunch with friends. We hadn't been for years so decided to return for a special family event. We were disappointed that 2 of our favorites have been removed from the Sunday brunch buffet: the crab legs and the lox and bagels. You can still order both on the menu but the crap is $60 and the you only get 1 bagel from the menu item. The food was okay...nothing really to write home about but honestly, nothing spectacular. There isn't even an omelette station anymore as they have replaced it with crepes. Not so sure we'll make the drive anymore to return.
Everything was absolutely amazing, I highly recommend you to come here for a nice dinner.
We've been going to Taps since they first opened their doors over 20 years ago. We love the food, service, and ambiance. They have a diverse steak and seafood menu. If you like gourmet burgers they have that too. Their beers, brewed on the premises, have garnered many awards. It's our go to place for seafood.
Service was great. Food was great. We were seated at the same table as our June 3rd visit - they still had way too many tables in that small room. We felt cramped for the first hour, and our servers had to squeeze by us to get to their station in the corner. The two big groups left, and the room was put back to what we guess is the normal configuration - finally we did not feel cramped. If they have big groups in that room, they should refrain from seating people at the 2-seater tables.
Lobster dumplings were delicious!
My first visit was in April. The Lobster was delicious!!
This visit the Lobster was undercooked and had no flavor!
Service both times has been very slow.
The service today was superb. We were seated immediately and our server was very friendly and informative with a great attitude. I has the barramundi fish special and it was great and WW freestyle friendly, allowing a glass of wine. My husband had charbroiled oysters, organic green salad and clam chowder soup. All were excellent,
Arrived early for a 5pm dinner reservation and requested a square shaped booth &
Hostess said yes, she would put us at a square booth & she pointed to a U shaped booth,
which, obviously, is not the same thing. She mentioned the bar has little square booths.
I told her I would keep my reservation in the main dining room, but I would go to the bar
to wait for my friend.
My friend arrived, we had a drink in the bar & there was confusion that we would be eating
in the bar (very dis-jointed), and bread, napkins, cutlery, small plates were put on the table.
Then we waited to be called to our table at 5pm, but no one called. I had to go to front desk
& ask if our table was ready and another Hostess said, "oh, yeah, your table is ready". I don't
know why I had to go inquire.
Our Waiter was very good & attentive, which made up for the Hostess not being on top of
their game. The Calamari Provencal was too oily (or buttery). The entrees were fair, but
not for the high prices charged.
Also just another note, the bar needs to be updated. Seemed old & messy.
Taps is always a lovely evening
Sunday Brunch was wonderful. Server talked too much and at the end he kept my change without asking my preference. In the end he lost the extra I had planned to give.
TAPs Brundin is one of my favorite places to dine.
Service was impeccable. Starters and dessert (red velvet) was amazing. Not a place I’d go to for steak though.
Michael was a fantastic server! We had a fabulous time & everyone that works there is happy & helpful!
One of the best places in OC to do Brunch. Move over mimosas...you can have included beer instead 🍺🍺
