   Though I enjoy my server and ambiance at Masa 14, the food just took a long time to come to the table. My waiter did a good job about going back to get the food herself instead of having the runners serve. BUT for this to be a bottomless brunch, i only received 4 items after being there for 2 hours. The restaurant was not crowded like a typical brunch place would be, but overall i wouldn't come back nor recommend a friend to Masa 14.

    Nick was our server and he was awesome. We were greeted and promptly seated. Nick introduced himself and walked us through the brunch menu. The food came out quickly and was fabulous. The music was a bit loud, but overall it was a great restaurant!

    Something is wrong at Masa14, the experience we had was terrible. Service was terrible, food was mediocre and there was a distinct lack of interest in the customer from 3 different people we interacted with. In the entire restaurant there was 4 tables occupied. We won't go back and the owners should go experience this.

    I had a reservation but one in our party was seated in another part of the restaurant. I finally called and found that she was seated upstairs. Any competent host handling reservations would not have made this mistake. The restaurant is closing the end of August so reviews are moot at this point

    This was my first time visiting Masa 14 in a long time. I was pretty excited to return as it was once a common haunt for my friends and me when we were younger and very single! This experience didn't compare with our previous visits in terms of quality. The menu was narrow and skewed too sweet. We waited a long time for the various items we ordered to arrive, sometimes as long as 30 minutes. Does it really take 30 minutes to plate a single strip of pork belly?! It would have been great if the "crispy" potatoes were actually crispy instead of parboiled and reheated. The cauliflower looked like it had been made several days previously and then microwaved. Better scrambled eggs can be had from the free breakfast buffet in Holiday Inn Express lobby. Perhaps the staff cares less about putting out a good product since the restaurant is closing? It's a shame our last visit couldn't have ended on a higher note. At least the bottomless mimosas were good (even though I left the restaurant stone-cold sober despite drinking 8 of them)!

    I went to Masa 14 with 3 friends for brunch. Overall, the dining experience was okay. The menu was pretty limited given the price of bottomless brunch compared to other DC restaurants, and despite the restaurant being pretty empty, the staff had a difficult time clearing empty plates and checking in on us. When we received the bill, the total was around $140 for the four of us (which is what we were expecting- no issues here). We put in four cards expecting the waitress to split the bill evenly. When we received the individual receipts, each person was charged $51). We immediately noticed the bill was not split the correct way. Our waitress was suddenly nowhere to be found, and when we asked the hostess to fix the bill, she did not seem surprised or apologetic about the mistake. The whole experience seemed very shady as if they knew they were trying to charge our table an extra $60. I would not recommend this business, and most likely will not be going to any of this restaurant groups other establishments anytime soon.

    Horrible service and food. Everything we ordered came out cold or never made it out. What we did eat was mediocre at best. Food runners did not know what food went to which tables. Super frustrating as we sat there eagerly awaiting our food. Drinks took forever and were overly sweet. At $40 a person I would recommend spending your money elsewhere. Overall huge disappointment for a Richard Sandoval restaurant.

    My friends and I stopped at Masa 14 at 8:00 p.m. after a show at Black Cat. We each ordered a drink or two and about 6 small plates to share with the table. When we got to the restaurant, the host told us that the air-conditioning was broken, so we were seated on the rooftop. Despite the fact that there was only one other table in the whole restaurant that I saw, our server came to our table to take our initial drink order, but didn't come back to check on the table or ask for food orders until one of us walked over to the indoor bar after 30 minutes of waiting. We also noticed that both of the upstairs bathrooms were out of soap. The food itself was good, particularly the tuna tacos and grilled octopus, but was a bit expensive for what it was (my bill came to $33 before tip for a cocktail and two small plates).

    Knowing that the music inside is SUPER loud , I specifically asked for patio seating and confirmed this twice over the phone with them when they called to confirm my reservation a day in advance but when we got there the patio seating was not an option and the sad part is that they didn’t even care! What good is a reservation if you are not honoring it or aware of it? So Unprofessional.

    Service was definitely sub-par at best. I was a server for many years and I am generally understanding but at many points when my glasses were empty (both water and mimosa) my server was chatting it up at the bar. She also forgot entire orders of food and had to come back and ask us what we had ordered before. Once the food finally started coming it was OKAY, I’ve had much better but I’ve also had worse. The biggest issue was the temperature of the restaurant. It was sweltering. The temperature definitely limited our ability to enjoy the brunch and made us want to leave. With the number of options in the area it would be hard to consider coming back because it was not a good experience.

    The food was amazing, but that’s about it. There was absolutely no AC and by the end our brunch we were all drenched in sweat. The Bloody Mary’s were undrinkable and the mimosas were room temperature. Our waitress was nice, but rarely checked on us. We had to ask for our check 3 times and then after we got the bill we had to meet her at the cash register for her to process payment. Very disappointed in the experience and it also made me look bad as I recommended this place to my 7 other friends.

    Don’t bother to go to Masa 14 for brunch. The service was mediocre and there was a limited selection of drinks on the bottomless brunch menu. The food was tasty but some items were never bought out.
