Loved our meals, all perfectly prepared: sea scallops, calves liver, roast duck, spaghetti bolognese. Apple tarte tatin was warm and yummy. We always enjoy the piano music and the quiet atmosphere.

The host and staff were professional and friendly. The facility was clean. Men’s room was very clean. Food was ok. Beacon was a bit over cooked. But French toast was fresh and delightful. The pleasant waiters add value to the dining experience.

Love, love, loved Chez Josephine. It is a small neighborhood restaurant, that in its decor and music, is an homage to the late Josephine Baker. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and our server was helpful and attentive. The food was excellent, I had the grilled salmon and it was prepared to perfection, just as I ordered. Often I find salmon is cooked far too long and is dry and tasteless. This however, served on a bed of sauteed Kale and tomato coulis, was the best salmon I have had served in a restaurant. The house wines were pleasent and deserts simple and satisfying. A rare find in midtown.

Service was very attentive when we first sat down but then had to ask for attention which was odd because when we first got to the restaurant it was packed and by the time we left it wasn’t. Ordered pate which looked and tasted like it had been sliced out of a loaf that came out of a can.

Excellent food at great atmosphere. Both entrees we got were terrific! Bread and butter were cold, but it wasn’t a big deal as it was free. Good service although we were never sure who our server was specifically, and were nearly abounded by the time it was time for the check. Live piano player was excellent.
