Overall, our meal was fantastic, waiter was very nice and very knowledgeable, and everything went well. The food was phenomenal and the chef even made a “custom” meal for our 7yr old who didn’t like anything on the children’s menu. I will say - our kids (5yrs and 7yrs) were the only kids in the restaurant. So it’s not super kid friendly but we did just fine.

Did not honor reservation time. 20 minutes beyond our reservation time still not seated. Sat at bar and it was very loud and disruptive. Food was under cooked and not spectacular as it has been in the past.

Inovasi is one of our favorites, and it never disappoints! The food is prepared in such a unique way, with ingredients and flavors you would not typically expect. The standouts this time would probably be the duck, the short rib, and the beets. There were 8 of us for dinner; we all shared appetizers and desserts (which is helpful when everything looks too good to make up your mind!) and we were all entirely pleased with our meal.

I have been a regular diner at Inovasi since it began ten years ago. I find it to be consistently inconsistent. On this occasion the food was very, but the service/operation was particularly weak. Just 3-5 minutes after placing our orders, the first course arrived at our table. "My, that was fast," my guest instinctively said. Ten minutes later, while still eating the first course, our entrees were presented. We placed them to one side while we hurriedly finished the starters. This is not the first time I have had such an experience at Inovasi. While the restaurant is obviously not trying to provide a leisurely, multi-hour dining experience, neither should it try to provide fast food.

We are Lake Forest residents and have been to Inovasi on a regular basis. The food continues to impress. My husband had a terrific seasonal fig cocktail, and the merlot recommended to us by our waiter was fantastic. All of the food was delicious, and the service was knowledgeable.

We eat at a lot of well-regarded restaurants throughout the North Shore, and we've concluded that Inovasi has the most consistently excellent food. On our most recent visit, my wife - who's very fussy about her fish - absolutely raved about her mahi mahi, and I loved my tri-tip in a bed of light mashed potatoes. We shared the beet salad, which was outstanding. And our waiter, Juan, could not have been more personable. Before dinner, we had a drink in the bar, where the bartender was very pleasant and made an excellent dirty Bombay Sapphire martini. On top of all that, the rest of the staff, including the hostess, were very warm and made us feel very welcome.

Michelin level dining without needing to go into a big city. I don’t know why Chef John des Rosiers chooses to grace the Northern Chicago suburbs with his brilliance but I’m thankful he does. If you are a North shore foodie, look no further. I have never walked out of Inovasi disappointed, unless being sad the meal inevitability had to end counts!

Four of us had a very nice dinner on Wednesday evening. The squash soup was excellent. I had the crunchy salmon roll which was very good. One of us had the calamari which was also good. Please add chocolate gelato or ice cream to the menu.
