Great food and great service. I mentioned that I loved the tomato basil soup (of the day) I had tried on a previous visit to the restaurant. It wasn't on the menu that day, but the chef made it anyway and surprised me with it! They have a beautiful patio that is dog friendly. We plan to make this a neighborhood spot.

Requests for small changes in the order (lightly toasted bread) and for condiments (mustard and ketchup) were ignored although repeated three times. In spite of the poor service, it was a nice experience dining in the outdoor patio.

The Sancerre was good, the mussels with fries were good. The service was good. The pain Perdue was very good. My partner ordered the special, a filet, medium rare. When we received it, it was just about well done. We let the waitress know and said it was not a big deal, but I was surprised she did not offer to take it back. Well done filet at any place calling itself French is a mystery to me. Overall, it was good/fine. For 2 with tip was about USD 250. I won’t rush back... but may try it again?

We had salmon, onion soup, caesar salad, and a bottle of pinot grigio. Desserts of apple cobbler and creme brulee were much enjoyed. A relatively quiet evening, suitable for pleasant conversation. We'll be back!

I've eaten here a number of times before and been very impressed with the food, service, atmosphere, etc. So I booked it for Mother's Day as a special treat for myself and brought the family. Unfortunately (and perhaps it was just an off night), the servers had little knowledge of the wine and food they were serving. We initially asked for a kir royale (to celebrate) and were told they didn't serve cocktails. We explained that this isn't a cocktail but champagne with creme de cassis. Oh, well, they were out of creme de cassis. OK, we picked a bottle of red, they were out of it. We found another bottle, and it tasted like vinegar (a Chateau Neuf des Papes). We asked what the soup du jour was and were told tomato basil, but our 12 year old was given a very different soup, which turned out to be mushroom (the actual soup du jour). It was just not an easy ordering process and the servers were well meaning but had no clue about French food, wine, etc., which is kind of the point of going to a French restaurant. I won't go on, but you get the idea. Surprising, too bad. It's been lovely when I've eaten there when the owner is there but won't go back if this is the new normal.

This was a client dinner, but the clients have become friends... so it was really enjoyable. Especially as there was a band playing - on a school night!!! My client loved the saxophone and also mentioned that it was the best chicken marsala he had outside of Paris! My mussels were amazing and the filet mignon was perfect. Overall, a very pleasant evening with great friends, food, wine and music!

I thought that the wines we had were way overpriced: the Sancerre and the Cotes du Rhone are relatively inexpensive wines and have no place in the $50 range.

Food was basically inedible. They ran out of the first two menu items I selected and when I finally settled on Steak frites, the steak was 85% gristle and completely over done. Will not return, do not recommend.

Wonderful cozy and affordable neighborhood French restaurant, not too big & not too small! Food is delicious & staff is very friendly & helpful. Dining on the outdoor courtyard on a sunny day is a treat -its like going to a friend's well tended backyard to have a meal. We love going for dinner & Sunday brunch. Has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants.

We hoped to tap into the jazz combo which comes on Tuesdays, but the flu got to them first. The food and service were wonderful as always, and the scrumptious desserts (sorbets and flan) were perfect to cap off the delectable Pasta Alfredo, vegetable cream soup, pork tenderloin and children's chicken dinner.

Just absolutely delightful. Has a back patio for nice days. Just a great little French bistro. Our business was located near South Park Cafe and it had been our "go to" place for perfectly prepared French dishes and we were devastated when it closed in 2017 after over 30 years but could not be more pleased to find Chez Marius. What a gem. The food is perfect, the staff couldn't have been nicer or more informative. The mussel's were to die for as were our guests other choices. Absolutely no complaints. Want to feel like you are relaxing in France for lunch, this is the place.

Good location. Mediocre vibe inside. Not a lot of thought went into the decor. The food was okay. Crab and avocado salad was good. Could have used some more greens. The hangar steak was okay as well. Nothing special. We probably would not go back since there are so many interesting restaurants in Noe Valley.

The food unfortunately was not up to standard. The onion soup was watery and the cheese not baked properly. Vegetable omelet was just ok. Denny’s veggie omelet was delicious. The creme brûlée was blain unmemorable. The eggs Benedict was delicious but would have been improved with the presences of Hollandaise sauce
