Dinner can be served al fresco on the Chianti terrace overlooking Lake Huron. Chianti also features a martini bar just outside of the dining room that serves signature martinis.
Live piano entertainment nightly.
Daily 5:00 pm–10:00 pm
My husband celebrated our 10 year anniversary on Mackinac Island in October 2018 and had our celebratory meal at Chianti. Adrian was our server and was fantastic! He made jokes, recommended certain menu items and described everything with exciting words. Since it was our anniversary, we got seated at a beautiful table and view and Adrian serenaded us over our dessert cake. He was fabulous and I understand why everyone sung his praises on reviews I read. Beautiful voice, evening, view and service.
Went for dinner with my wife the last night on the island. We had the beef tartar for an appetizer and it was one of the best we have ever had. Dining to the live piano music overlooking the lake as the full moon rose made for a very romantic dinner. The portion size was surprisingly, and thankfully, larger then I would expect at such a fine dining restaurant. Will definitely make a trip back the next time we are on the island.
the osso buco was to die for !! . . .
carone's service was very attentive and very pleasant and very helpful . . .
We loved Chianti. It was right on the line of fine dining and casual. The food was spectacular. I had the lamb, and it was perfectly cooked. My boyfriend had the duck and is still talking about how good it was. We even requested a song from the pianist. We would definitely recommend Chianti and would go back for sure.
I like attentiveness but we were watched the whole time we were eating by our waitress. It was slow and I think we were her only table. She was very pleasant but I was uncomfortable with her standing off to the side watching us. She was johnny-on-the-spot when we finished each course but I felt rushed. I ordered the pork tenderloin and it was very good.
Visited Mackinac Island for just one night and came to Chianti for a nice dinner (something other than burgers). What a pleasant surprise! Our waitress was from Jamaica (Corone) and did an excellent job. I had the salmon, and you picked two sides (mashed potatoes and sauteed mushrooms) and a sauce (lemon-caper) and it was delicious! My husband had the lamb osso bucco...very nice portion and he said it was very good. There was a pianist playing in the background and one time, one of the waiters broke out into a lovely romantic song. It was a lovely evening and I will definitely go back!
Have dined here several time and each time is a great experience. The menu is wonderful and all dishes are well-executed. Service is attentive, professional and everything you would expect. For a wonderful evening, you will not be disappointed. If the weather is nice, sit out on the veranda for a beautiful Mackinac sunsent!
I was completely disappointed with this restaurant! I made a reservation for 6 originally, then moved it to 5. I had called and my sure that my reservation was there and that they saw my notes. The girl I spoke to said "yes, we have it. I see, you said it's his birthday. Just so you know we will make it extra special for him. We bring out a dessert with candles, we put you by the front windows so you have the view of the ocean and the pianist will pay "Happy Birthday to him!" To me that sounded great! This is the place I wanted to celebrate his birthday.
So, we came at 4:55. I told the host that we have a reservation at 5. The host looked on the book and asked for the name. I told him my name. The host was like I don't have a reservation for you! I told the host I made it on open table. The host was like we don't have open table. Then then asked how many is it for? We gave him all that information. He then told us to go wait in the lobby because they don't open for another 15 minutes. At this point I didn't want to even eat there anymore!
All I wanted was to surprise my fiancé with a special birthday dinner! But, this place doesn't do a good job at that!
We had such a good time - the room was beautiful with large windows to see the scenery outside. The food was fabulous and the service wonderful
The food and drinks were great. The service is all around 5-star. But the absolute best part of our visit was our server, Adrian!! He was so accommodating, friendly, welcoming, and hilarious. We were celebrating both our birthdays and he came out with a dessert with two candles and sang us a BEAUTIFUL birthday song.
If you dine here, request to have Adrian as your server, trust me!
Loved every minute of our visit to Chiante. Fine dining, personified. Great service, amazing food.
This restaurant compares with some of the best in Manhattan! We will be going back!!
The food was subpar. My fish came out burnt and the chocolate cake we ordered was dry and stale. The bread was cold and the salad had brown lettuce leaves throughout. I was very disappointed after reading previous reviews. The staff however was impeccable. They were very kind and courteous and made you feel very welcomed and special. I just wish the food was up to the same standards the level of service was at Chianti. I would consider choosing other restaurants on the island.
Wonderful experience Adrian our waiter made us feel right at home you folks have a good one there. Our grey goose martinis were done to perfection up and very cold.
We’ll be back
Adrian was great, the food was superb.
Thank you for making our 45 anniversary a celebration to remember.
The food, ambiance and service were impeccable just what you would expect for a higher end meal. We sat on the porch overlooking the water and it was perfect.
We had called ahead and asked about accessibility accommodations for one of our party members who has mobility issues (he was in a transport chair).
They told us that they had wheelchair accessible dining room when I telephoned.
When we arrived (after paying for the horse drawn taxi) they told us that the elevator down into the dining room was "out of service." This was most embarrassing for our party member who then said he would try to struggle down the stairs with his cane. We did not want to place our dinner party member at risk for falls, so we left the restaurant!! As we were leaving the staff told us that two prior guests in wheelchairs also had left the same day!
This was embarrassing for our family member and a major inconvenience to us.
Been going to Chianti's everytime we are on Mackinac Island. Always good. Always great service. Always impressed.
The food was great and the staff was friendly. However, they couldn't find our reservation and acted offended that we had made it online rather than taking the extra time to call them. They were still able to seat us, although not on the patio as we had hoped. When we asked, we were told the table set for two outside was reserved for another couple. That couple ended up moving inside after about 10 minutes. There was no A/C and it was sweltering hot (even with all doors and windows open). By the end of the meal, we were both just sitting there melting in the heat anxiously awaiting the bill. Unless you can guarantee outdoor seating or it is a cold day, I would recommend going elsewhere.
Wonderful food, superb service. This was one of the highlights of our trip
Loved the piano player; he played the entire time we were there, and really added a lot. Both food & service were excellent.
My wife had the Salmon and I had the Filet. Both were excellently prepared. Calamari appetizer was good too and a bit larger portion than you usually get. Needless to say, none was left.
Good food but poor service. Spectacular views of the Huron.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Chianti. It was a highlight of our stay at Mission Point Resort. The food was excellent, although the side salads were a bit overpriced. I highly recommend the Chicken Piccata, and the Lasagna. Our server, Carone, was wonderful, as were all the staff. One of the waiters even sang for a couple next to us (great voice), and the pianist was very good.
Our service was excellent as the wait staff was attentive, friendly, and considerate. The food was overall good, but not great. We had a fantastic table with a nice view and would come back in the future.
Food was mediocre. Service great!
My husband and I went to Chianti for our 1st wedding anniversary. The entire staff was polite and made us feel special and wished us happy anniversary. Our server, Adrian, went above and beyond to give us a romantic and fine dining experience. At the end of the dinner he sang us a song at the table (John Legend) and his voice was amazing. The whole restaurant watched and it is something we will never forget!! The food and wine was very very delicious and worth the price. Definitely recommend for a special occasion!
Good food. Great staff
I would give Chianti 10 stars if it were available. We had a wonderful dinner for two in a quiet-ish setting. Each part of our meals was tasty and beautifully presented. The service was fabulous from start to finish, including helping us get a ride back to our hotel. We will make it a point to return when we next visit Mackinac. DO NOT miss the opportunity to enjoy Chianti.
We made a reservation for my daughter’s birthday dinner! Our server Simon was fabulous right from the beginning. Very attentive and the food was delicious with a beautiful view of Mackinac. They topped it off with a wonderful Birthday rendition. Thanks for making this so memorable. We will be back.
Service was very slow. Across everyone’s meal, the food was extremely salty, to the point that we could not eat it. The waiter lied to us saying one of our dishes that we asked to be made spicy was made that way, directly contradicting the person who had just told us it wasn’t. When the waiter went back to ask the server if it was, the waiter rolled his eyes before taking the food back. We honestly just left our food there after paying because no one wanted to take it home. I will not be going there again.
This was a dinner for our 20th anniversary. We were early, but were seated immediately. Service was prompt and food was very good. Our waiter (Basil) serenaded us with a song for our anniversary and received a round of applause from everyone in the restaurant.
We had a very enjoyable evening, our server Adrian was excellent and accommodating, food was superb, ambiance and music were lovely. We will definitely return and we highly recommend Chianti to anyone during their stay on the island!
Everything from the hostess to our waitress to the waiter who serenaded us made the evening extra special. We were with two other couples and were all celebrating anniversaries! The food was wonderful and our service was superb. Just an excellent evening all around! Thanks to Carone for making it so memorable!
This restaurant is overrated and I would not go back
This place was wonderful. The atmosphere is romantic with piano playing off to the side. They start you with a welcome glass of champagne, small but pleasantly unexpected. The prices were reasonable for the ambience and quality of service and food. We had wine, starters, meals and split a dessert and still left with a bill under 200.00 after tip. We will definitely return next time we go to the island.
My husband and I enjoyed our special dinner together on the patio.
We enjoyed a very nice meal at Chianti while staying at Mission Point for a wedding. Service was fantastic and the food and drinks were very good. We would certainly visit again when on Mackinac Island.
Off the hallway, but overall ambiance was okay. The hotel is beautiful. The veal piccata was off a bit onl emon per personal preference
Great food and good service. Enjoyed the piano music. Great vacation dinner.
