The staff goes above and beyond all expectations 💝truly first class service! They pay attention to detail and food is amazing!!
We love the Aurora Inn but only get to go when we are at our cottage on Cayuga Lake. I was just there, closing up the cottage, so was able to have dinner with 2 friends and it was delicious! Our server, Katie, was great! It is a beautiful place and in the warm weather, you can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake.
We stayed at the Inns of Aurora for our 2nd wedding anniversary. The Resturant was lovely. The food was excellent and the service was great. Josh our waiter was attentive and helpful about where to go and what to do in the Finger Lakes. Try the blue cheese stuffed dates! Yum!
Excellent restaurant and wonderful inn. A must if you’re in the finger lake region.
We debated just going for pub food across the street from the Inn, because the Inn seemed somewhat pricey. So glad we didn’t. It was relaxing, not at all stuffy, and by NY standards, we’ll within reason. We both opted for the pot roast. Still talking about it. Upscale version of the dish, yet still comfort food. Had a lovely glass of a local red that complimented it perfectly. Look forward to going back.
Very enjoyable... very nice service and atmosphere.
Great place to relax and have good conversation
Without being rushed.
Best service around and the food was amazing! We also loved the decor and atmosphere! When we visit the area again...we will look forward to eating there again!
Excellent. We would go back in a minute. Food was amazing and staff was perfect. Really loved the Aurora Inn.
We had a wonderful evening celebrating my birthday and Josh, our server, was excellent. All of the staff were very attentive, helpful, and polite. They have a nice selection of drinks on the bar and a good mix of local and international wines well matched to the food selections. Great place to enjoy the best of the Finger Lakes as many if not all of their food choices feature locally sourced ingredients. Atmosphere is unbeatable as is the location. Most excellent place to dine!
Michael was our server & outstanding to say the least!!!
It was a delightful lunch. Service was great, view was beautiful and lunch was delicious. Highly recommend
Always excellent food and service. We love it. The wait staff was excellent and attentive. The wine list was extensive, featuring a lot of Finger Lakes Wines.
Excellent meal. Creative, beautifully presented and delicious. Service was outstanding. Wonderful atmosphere; breathtaking views of the lake. Can’t wait to go back.
Celebrated our anniversary getting married at the Inn one year ago. The best ambiance with possibly the best food around as well. You can never go wrong with anything at the Aurora Inn. It's our happy place.
We have eaten there twice and tonight at the sirlion steak and pot roast; both were delicious!
Love lunch on the veranda - overlooking Cayuga Lake. Stunning setting with excellent food!
Aurora Inn is a great, cozy, upscale spot for dining. Service was excellent, and the staff is very friendly.
Great Sunday brunch on the deck.
Food was great. But we waited 45 min for our meal after placing order. Waiter never stopped in to update or apologize. Wasn’t over-crowded either.
I ordered the chicken and waffles and the chicken was great. The waffle was tough and drowning in a thick, gloppy sauce. While I am fine with spicy honey this sauce was not sweet at all and not appropriate for this dish.
The service was exceptional. Katy did an excellent job with recommendations and service.
Food was very good - especially the entrees. My wife's "spicy salad" was a bit anemic but that is literally the only thing I can say that was not outstanding. The duck entree and the shark special were truly amazing. View of the lake on the balcony was exceptional as was the wait staff.
This is a beautiful spot with wonderful service. The menu is small but interesting. It was lovely for 1 meal, but too heavy for a longer stay since there are few options for dining in Aurora. I LOVE food, but cannot each a large heavy meal. There are lots of wonderful “side” vegetables offered - but since I am full from a main dish cooked in this style with a lot of delicious butter and oil - it would be wasteful for me to add a separate side veggie dish. The “side” vegetable dish makes me unfortunately think of chain steakhouses. I would much prefer to pay a little more to see lighter vegetables added to every main. But it is a gorgeous restaurant where you can watch the sun go down on Cayuga Lake, and the food is good.
On vacation at the Inn. Dinner both nights was great. Food was excellent, great outdoor
venue with view of Cayuga lake and waitstaff that was knowledgeable and very friendly.
Wish the Inn was in my town. Highly recommended.
We have dined at Aurora Inn previously and had great meal......lunches and a dinner. On Sundays, only a brunch menu is offered at lunchtime., not the regular menu. Was a very limited choice for lunch food. The 4of us all ordered something different. We all agreeded that we were disappointed in the food. Wasn’t bad but wasn’t remarkable. Oh well, lesson learned!
The food was very nicely prepared, the menu offered a moderate number of choices for a non-red meat or fowl meat eater, and the ambiance and weather were perfect. The service was most friendly but a bit lethargic, possibly due to the wedding reception that was taking place at the same time as dinner. But the weather, the setting and the relaxing atmosphere made the wait quite acceptable.
lunch was delicious! i especially loved the boston seafood chowder and would give anything to have the chef's recipe so i could try to make it at home. wouldhe share it?
A superb experience. Menu is relatively small but creative with interesting choices. Staff obviously is well trained which enhances the evening, as there is no pressure to turn tables.
The Tomato Salad and the Beets wth local cheese were outstanding. Fish of the day super fresh and delicious. The Inn hosts many weddings, as was the case on the Saturday night that we dined outdoors on the deck overlooking the lake. We totally enjoyed the wedding music which kicked into louder dance mode around 8pm. Since not everyone may feel that way, just be aware that if you are booking on a weekend you may want to ask if there is a wedding if you are concerned. We thought it was fun and added to the evening experience and, to the credit of the staff, the wedding event did not compromise the quality of the food or the service in the main dining room. This is a gem of the Finger Lakes.
Alright. I love the setting. The service was genteel, very friendly but a bit slow. I ordered Quail; portion was exceptionally small. Women at the table ordered the same and were satisfied. The blue cheese stuffed dates were awesome! The bread was warm but very unexceptional. It was an enjoyable experience but perhaps my expectations were higher than reasonable. I would come back. especially for the stuffed dates.
Charming view and service is on point. Food was so-so. Sweet potato chips were stale and immediately replaced with another side. Lobster roll was replaced with a slice of white bread and bill was reduced by half. Server was friendly and professional, doing all he could to make the experience positive.
The service was very nice. The table and view was lovely. Went for husband's birthday lunch. Was disappointed in the lobster roll. It was minced so finely you could hardly see the filling. It filled only half of an enormous New England roll which was nicely toasted. The fried green tomatoes were very tasty and beautifully served and the apricot bread pudding was delicious. The menu is pricey for what it is. $18 for a lobster roll that looked more like canned lobster was disappointing. Beautiful Inn.
Could not sit on patio for water view due to summer rain. The sparkling rose was not available & a substitute automatically made for me; however the replacement came with an item floating in the wine! Back that went...
Fried green tomatoes were absolutely delicious. The lobster roll was more roll than lobster, with a tiny salad. The maple bacon bourbon ice cream was such a tiny “1 scoop” size, maybe an apricot size, that it was shockingly expensive & not tastey of the featured ingredients—where’s the bacon? Sadly we were disappointed with the experience & price & not a good value.
Lovely, welcoming, historical. We’ve been going to the inn for 14 years for brunch and dinner and we have yet to be disappointed. Aurora Inn used to have a pub menu with burgers, etc. I wish they would bring it back. The waitstaff are great, too. Knowledgeable, attentive and friendly.
My wife and I were celebrating her birthday. She had two appetizers: blue cheese stuffed dates and a lobster special. Both were very good. I had the pot roast which I believe is always on the menu. This is the third time I have had it and, as I think about it, this was one of the best meals I have ever had - anytime, anywhere. As usual, the service was outstanding - very professional, friendly, but somewhat reserved.
The food was outstanding! So delicious. We appreciated the goat cheese options and the wheat-free desserts and sides. The ambience was lovely and the stroll outside to the lake rounded out a perfect evening.
Food took a very long time to come out but was delicious when we got it- server was very busy with a large party so we didn't get very much attention
Unfortunately, we will not be going back as our first experience at Aurora Inn was a big turn off. My family and I were expecting a first class experience due to the raving reviews we found on the Internet. There were ants underneath our table feasting on some dropped food from the meal of a previous patron. Those ants constantly bit my husband's ankles and feet. He had to leave the table to get them off. And the ant bites remain on my husband's skin. We waited nearly an hour for our brunch orders. We had made reservations for 10:00 a.m. Granted there was a wedding party that was being served at the same time. But the manager and serving staff should have had better sense to take customers if they didn't have enough kitchen and waiting staff. The staff was amateur and disorganized. My son's pancakes tasted good. It was the only meal that was satisfactory. However, I was quite disappointed in my crabcake benedict. The English muffin tasted horrible and the crabcakes were substandard. The server said that they were delicious. I beg to differ. I would never recommend that dish to anyone. My husband complained that he was still hungry after eating the chicken and waffle. The chicken was tasty but the waffle was dry. He was given a quarter size of a waffle and half a breast. The menu calls the dish chicken and waffles. Overall, we were less than impressed as my husband commented throughout the whole time we were there. For us, never again!
Everything was just wonderful! Can’t wait to dine here again.
Everything well prepared. Lobster roll, risotto, gazpacho, dates. Beautiful day and setting.
