Come and join us for a taste of Italy, located steps from the High Line, we look forward to serving you.
The food was very good. Service was pretty terrible. I am not very high maintenance, they seemed rushed like they were understaffed but the place was not very big and not full at all.
My wife and I got there they didn't ask us if we wanted anything to drink. Within 1 minute of sitting the waiter walked up and asked what we wanted to eat. We were't ready so I asked for a few more minutes and before I finished my sentence the server was gone. He didn't come back for about 10 minutes. So we ordered and never saw him again. No one asked how our food was. No one refilled our waters. Someone came by and cleaned up our plates and then we sat for about 15 minutes after that with no one coming to our table. It was too bad because we did want to look at the desert menu but no one offered or even came by for us to ask! I had to ask the food runner for the check.
Food was great, service was bad. Maybe it was a bad night for them. I would give it a second chance.
Have never had such a rude waiter. When some of a party of 12 arrived and gave 2 names the reservation was under he refused to check under either name. Despite the fact that we had a reservation the waiter basically demanded that we order quickly. One entree came with a hair in it and multiple entrees were sent back due to being cold. Worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Do not waste your money here.
We were looking for a good traditional Italian restaurant to eat at before my husband's marathon, and this was very good! Our food was delicious. Service was mediocre - we had to ask 3 times to get a bread basket but it fit our needs.
Great authentic Italian cuisine, the food is very tasty and the prices are reasonable . Definitely recommend this place if you happened to be around Chelsea area.
Burrata was outstanding. Spaghetti Bolognese and Pappardelle alla Funghi were great.
Food is always good and so is the service.
I went to Zia Maria for Brunch on Sunday. Very nice place and the experience was OK in general. The only flaw was the size of the portion. I tried to scape the brunch menu so I looked for the normal menu options, and the pasta looked great. I ordered the Lobster Ravioli. The taste was good but they served only 4 normal size ravioli pieces. Smaller than a appetizer. Other options from my party were ok, just bad luck I got the ravioli.
Everything about this restaurant is great! The food, service etc. But the other night there were a group of late teens or early 20 somethings who just made it difficult to talk. They ere so loud it was a turnoff. It's usually never like that.
Food was good, but the Diablo was not spicy at all. I think they sent out regular sauce.
I will be back.
Good Pizza and Italian food in a neighborhood setting. Staff is generally nice and considerate and client-oriented. Food is plentiful; portions are large enough to share or take home!
Loved the service. Food is great for families and a decent wine list.
I loved this restaurant. The service was excellent! I will recommend it to my friends. All the food is homemade along with the desserts. Glad I found it!
Very nice pizza and great service. Very loud table and bad acoustics ruined the evening.
Great service and tasty food. Would recommend!
Good service, large selection on menu, attentive waiters
there was no air conditioner! but we didn’t want to leave. so we powered through. pizza was good. so was the sangria. but way too hot.
We celebrated our anniversary in NYC. It was our first time visiting. Everything was great! I chose this restaurant because I liked the layout and location. Would love to visit again.
I enjoyed my meal but my server was not attentive. I would still come back because my meal was DELICIOUS....penne vodka (I added chicken).
We had a family dinner here. Service and food were great. Best fried calamari I've had ever. Was soft and and lightly battered. Not chewy at all.
We also had a bottle of Rose wine that was very good. I highly recommend this place.
The review was good on the open table. Bur food wasn't good.
Great service!!!!! The food was really good. We tried three of the pizzas and they were all tasty. My favorite was the sausage with sweet onions. Just an amazing contrast of flavors. I look forward to eating hear again in the future.
The staff is always wonderful and accommodates our large groups.
Great place to meet friends. Food is good and service was attentive.
Great service we went there with Team Linares after an event and restaurant was left open for us. Great service! Thank you!
Solid if unambitious Italian place that rocks the standards but doesn't try for greatness. A welcoming, comfortable restaurant with good solid service and a menu of unsurprising items. Had the Romana Pizza which was excellent and the pappardelle with porcini mushrooms delicious cream sauce that was maybe a little too much but delicious none the less. Dessert is just okay. So if you're in the mood for decent Pizza solid pasta, good salads this is the place for you.
Good reg Italian. Service was good. Would d f go back.
Dined here a couple of times pre-movie in April 2108 during Tribeca Film Festival. First time, sitting down at 7 pm, the place was buzzing and the noise was overwhelming. Second time, at an earlier sit down time, it was quieter - make that less noisy. The Tribeca Festival is obviously good for trade, and good luck to Zia Maria. The Italian-style food is not bad and prices are fair for a mid-town location.
Neighborhood pizzeria. Nothing special
Wonderful, as usual. Five stars across the board. The staff makes it feel like a friendly, neighborhood place. We’ll be back really soon!
Good local Italian restaurant. Food is well-prepared, attentive staff, moderate prices.
Very subtle and calming environment. Service was exceptional and food was very delicious!
We had a most wonderful evening! Delicious food, and amazing service. We left feeling like we had made friends with the gentlemen who graciously and warmly provided for us. It was a family reunion, and we left feeling like we were at home, and had just found more family! The best!
Amazing restaurant and so impressed with the service and generous portions. Super Tuscan wine to die for!
Great service, delicious food, plentiful portions, reasonably priced!
Pepe is a great server,we started we the Caprese and Tagliere Italiano antipasto, which was huge. Took half home with me. Dinner was special Fettuccine Pesto Shrimp,Spaghetti Bolognese, and the Penne Vodka. Again the plates were large and the food was fantastic.
A lot of take home, which made for a very tasty lunch. Looking forward to our next visit!
The place itself is nice but the food is, unfortunately, nothing special. I ordered a beet salad. There was a pile of arugula with five beet slices, and those beet slices looked like the sliced beets you get in a can. I also had the meatballs. They weren't bad but nothing memorable. My husband had the chicken parm with a side of spaghetti. Also, not bad but not great. Just ok. This all tasted like a meal one could make themselves or reheat, no great cooking skills required. The waiter was very nice and attentive so overall not a bad experience but when I dine out, I want to eat something that I don't feel like I could prepare myself.
I had a dinner here to celebrate my engagement. Zia Maria was very accommodating and provided great ambiance especially for such a big group!
We frequent this neighborhood restaurant. It has a nice varied Italian menu, including salads. It is usually busy and lively.
Amazing food and service! I had a lovely birthday celebration with friends.
Very cheery service. Vegetarian/ vegan pizza was excellent. Chicken cacciatore was very tasty, although the chicken over cooked
Birthday for a close girlfriend. Zia Maria is our go-to place for any type of dining though. It’s my favorite restaurant in the city. The staff is wonderful, always. Nice crowd of neighborhood people, usually. The best fried calamari you’ll ever have!
